    76ers:

Jrue Holiday- !!!!. Holiday was outstanding. He ran the offense, defended, made plays for others, and slashed very well. Solid mid-range game. Other than the occasional misguided slash to the rim, Holiday did an exceptional job running the team. Looked very good in the pick-and-roll, as usual. Needs to improve his shooting range some more. Really gets after the ball on D. This one goes to Knicksboy and Llperez, both of whom have always said Holiday would be a potentially great starter. I think he could be on his way. This wasn’t just a SL thing, I think this will translate to games.

Evan Turner- He had a rough go. Really pressed and visibly was pouting to teammates and refs. Had trouble beating guys off the dribble a few times (mostly Terrence Williams). Showed potential in the pick and roll though, and shows signs of a mid-range game. Draws fouls and plays with a low center of gravity. Wasn’t much better on D, and used his hands too much, picking up silly fouls. Did an outstanding job on the glass. I think he’ll do just fine, but he struggled some in this game.

Maureese Speights- He’s one of the 3 biggest talents on our roster and is being groomed as a future starter. Still, he floats and falls in love with his jumper too much. Not a very good (or willing) passer. Bad shot selection and Bball IQ. Only a mediocre rebounder, and is a work in progress in Year 3 on D. He’s got the talent and physical ability, but is he smart enough to reach it?

Jodie Meeks- Came out aggressive, even though his shot wasn’t falling much. Still can spot up, pull up off 1 or 2 dribbles, and will draw fouls. Plays pretty strong. Needs to improve his handle. A solid defender. Philly would be wise to groom him as Willie Green’s replacement
    .
Obi Muenelo- I compared him to Kelenna Azuibuike and said he’d be an undrafted gem. You get the last laugh for now. He shoots the ball well and has a strong frame, but was invisible on the court this time.

    Nets:

Terrence Williams- My boy lol. He plays so much like Andre Iguodala, except he’s a bit more flashy as a passer. Played PG for most of the game, and for the most part looked the part of a floor leader. He really has good quarterbacking skills. Great floor vision and passing ability. Ball-handling has improved since his Louisville days, and now he can make it to the rim more consistent off the dribble. Special athlete with nice bounce in his step and open floor speed. Big-time 1st step. Not a confident shooter just yet. Played very good D, especially on Evan Turner. Look for a big improvement from Williams next year, he’s big-time.

Derrick Favors- He had an OK game. He can’t create for himself AT ALL, but he can finish at the rim if set up the right way. Downright explosive athlete. Strong quickness and leaping skills. Still not confident or polished as a shooter from mid-range. Defense was shaky, and he was very foul prone throughout. Relies on his athleticism to defend, but he did show the ability to contest around the rim with his length. Plays strong, and won’t let you score through contact on him.

Damion James- Played well. Didn’t make his jump shots, but he’s still confident in his shot after finding success with it as a Senior at Texas. Works hard without the ball and knows how to get shots off of cuts. Rebounded OK, but not like he usually does. Plays solid D and defended everything from SG-PF’s. Will figure into the Nets rotation immediately.

Brian Zoubek- XD…Put him on a basketball video game and you will have the lowest rated player on the game hands down. He just pretty much breathed Jesus’ air when he was on the court. SUPER stiff.

Tweety Carter- I love his feistiness, but he’s just too small sadly. He’ll make money overseas though.

So Iggy…still hating the Holiday pick? I told you that man was a steal at 17 and now? He’s gonna most likely start with Turner.

How you think Jodie Meeks will be in a few years if trained the right way?

And have the Wizards played yet? I would love to see how Wall is doing

I love T-Will btw lol, I’m glad he’s playing point. I know that was what he wanted to play

The Wizards have not played yet. The Wizards play in the Las Vegas Summer League and their first game is on July 11 against the Warriors. The most intriguing match-up in that game will be John Wall vs. Stephen Curry(If he plays).

Brian zoubek and Ben uzoh were signed by the nets and they both did not do good at all. I would rather have tweety Carter than Ben uzoh because, like you said, he is so feisty and quick on defense and on offense and is a very good leader on the floor. I expect him to make an NBA roster one day as a backup or 3rd string point guard. And for zoubek I think he’s an OK defender and hustler but he’s not an NBA caliber player. He’s just way to slow and doesn’t have a good offensive game.

I like jrue holiday alot he has alot of potential and he is tall for a pont guard at 6’4 and he reminds me of a young gary payton not polish on offense like him has the potential to hold d like him .even though holiday is right handed he’s better using his left hand. He’s better playmaker than I thought if he wprks on his offense he will be a multiple all star he needs some crossovers (well im just a guy whio loves crossovers). Iggy are you still regretting the sixers drafting him? You seem high on him now.

Jrue Holiday isn’t right handed. He’s ambidextrous.

thanks for the acknowledgement on jrue. Two other guys who did some nice things i thought were ben uzoh and trent plaisted. Not sure if trent is an nba player but he did the little things well and finished some plays around the rim. Kind of guy teammates love to have on the court with them. And uzoh has an nba ready jumper, although not sure if that will be enough to get him a spot in the league.

Terrence williams has a great hesitation dribble and gets into the lane at will and has great vision and eagerness to hit the open man. But he must put in work on his jumper if he wants to be a big time difference maker in the league. He doesnt have to be a knockdown shooter, but he’s gotta keep guys honest.

turner looked decent but after watching this game, not sure how holiday, turner and iggy are all gonna work out together. They all need the ball in their hands and it will be up to the coach to put the ball in one of their hands and tell the others to pick their spots and run the court.

Holiday is on his way to being a very solid NBA PG. He might have All-Star ability, if he keeps up his play from tonight.

Meeks should be groomed as an instant offense specialist. He can score at all 3 levels, but he’s better from mid-range and 3 than he is at the rim (weird). He defends well too. He’s like what Willie Green is now, but he has the potential to be better than Green could even think about being.

The Wiz play tomorrow I believe

The Wiz don’t play in the Orlando Summer League. They play in the Las Vegas Summer League. Check the schedule.

    @llperez

I’m with you on Iggy, Holiday and Turner… Turner looked uncomfortable playing without the ball in his hands.

I agree with llperez and Iggy. If Terrence had a jumper, do you know how many points he could have scored. He was getting a bunch a open looks but passed up on most of them. Once he improves his jumper and gets the confidence to shoot, He has the potential to be deadly.

Turner has bust potential, I’m afraid to say….

Favors will be okay, but it could take a few years.

Terrence Williams had a nasty dunk…. He’s ready to take a major step forward this season.

I think it will take him a little while to get used to the NBA. It took him 3 years to get used to the college game. He is an undrafted min wage player. I dont think much is expected from him. He is def and upgrade at 2nd or 3rd string Centre from Josh Boone who airballs free throws and Sean Williams who keeps getting arrested.

zoubek’s NBA comparison: cross between yinka dare (similar skill level), amal mccaskill (similar game), and jim mcilvaine (similar looks)
