I like Meeks because he is the better athelete. They are both great shooters so thats almost a wash. Who would you take and why?

I would take Meeks because he is has a better jumper and had to handle the scoring load for one of the most prestigious colleges in the nation. He has good poise and can handle the pressure of the bright lights of the NBA

    Depends…

Meeks seems more like a guy who could be a #3 option and could be a 12-15 ppg scorer. He does not need a PG to create. Not the biggest basket-attacker

Thornton is a guy who could shoot very well and could attack the basket. He could be a solid #2 player who could score alot but his height means he could more effective off the bench.

Meeks could fit a team like NY

Thornton could fit a Cleveland or a Dallas

Man this is a great question. You are right they are almost the exact same height & wingspan. I like Meeks because he runs the floor better. They both have pretty quick releases on their shot. I think Meeks is quicker coming off screens so that is a benefit. Meeks is a better free throw shooter. I give Meeks a slight edge.

I WOULD HAVE TO TAKE MEEKS JUST BECAUSE HE IS PLAINLY BETTER. BUT THAT DOES NOT MEAN THORNTON CAN’T BE GOOD THOUGH. morgatil MEEKS WILL NOT BE THE STEAL OF THE DRAFT.
