Melo to the Lakers, mega trade bound to happen before the trade deadline
This is an oxymoron, but please. Nobody respond to this thread after me. Please. This is a desperate cry for VIRTUAL attention (which is way worse than trying to get attention in real life....for obvious reasons). Smh. Don't fall for it
Who gets cheated in this deal? Look at all the rosters before you make dumb comments. Look at the Raptors now (should have made the deal with the Lakers), this is the only way Denver stays competitive.
its actually not to bad of trade.....although if ur philly would u rally give up iggy essentially for career injured type player like bynum, by that i mean a gut who is always gonna be banged up
Nixon I know your not talking about attention, you are constantly on this website looking for attention clown.Your lucky im on my phone, I wont even bother its a waste of time dealing with a hater.
Before you start "Melo to LA", can you tell us what went wrong in your strong promotion for "Bosh to LA" ?
"Nixon I know your not talking about attention, you are constantly on this website looking for attention clown.Your lucky im on my phone, I wont even bother its a waste of time dealing with a hater."
Let it all out man...
All things said it's actually not that bad of a trade. It kinda works for all parties. The only team who might be getting screwed is Philly cuz Bynum hasn't proven he can stay on the court. But if he does the Sixers get the 2nd best Center in the East, and makes everybody happy for them passing over Cousins for the player that plays the same positions as your best player.
DNYCE wont STOP
Denver wants no part of Iggy's contract, and makes Denver a probable 8th seed for years to come. They want caps space and picks. Caps space and picks. If you can offer a real young stud as well sure, but don't give them two versatile third options and think it'll work.
Lakers
Fisher/Blake
Bryant/Brown/Smith
Anthony/Barnes/Walton
Odom/Andersen/Caracter
Gasol/Ratliff
Nuggets
Billups/Lawson/Carter
Iguodala/Afflalo
Artest/Ebanks/Kapono
Martin/Harrington/Williams
Nene/Ely/Mbenga
76ers
Williams/Holiday
Turner/Vujacic/Meeks
Young/Nocioni/Balkman
Brand/Speights/Brackins/Songaila
Bynum/Hawes/Battie
What is there not to like about this trade???? Plus Denver or Philly can get the Lakers 1st rounder.
Cap space and relief??? KMart's contract isn't enough coming off the books???? Plus we all know that Denver is not a place where top Freeagents want to go. Denver is looking for players that have to stick around, and they have shown interest in Iguodala. What are you talking about??
What do the 76ers have to lose by picking up Bynum for 2 years???? Last time I checked they were a lottery team that just got the 2nd pick in the draft LMAO. With their current roster they still aren't making the playoffs might as well take a chance on Bynum. Speights can hold down the 5 spot until he gets back.
^^^^Kids this is your Brain on Drugs!!!^^^^^
Just say NO!!!
Why would Denver want 2 wings making a combined 20 million a year for the next 4 years, are ineffecient scorers, and the 29th pick in the draft? No Kenyons contract isnt enough. In your scenario, they're 2 million under the cap after expiring contracts. These guys aren't young, and they aren't good assets for trading. Why would Philly trade its best player and its pick? Throw all the eggs in the Holiday, Turner, Speights, Bynum basket?
Holiday is the face of the Sixers franchise and the starting PG with the keys to the franchise in his hands so you need to revise that starting lineup.
And actually Denver loves Iggy so they do want part of his contract. If Melo wasn't in an empire state of mind the Nuggets would seriously consider and Iggy-Melo swap. You can google that. The Nuggets have loved Iggy's game for years.
And the Sixers will make the playoffs this year. I promise you that. Hollinger got them seedes 7th but I think the 8th seed is more realistic. The Sixers are deep and finally have a good/great PG running the show. Not only that unlike last year where nobody knew what was going on on what their roles are on the team Doug Collins has clearly defined every players role on this team and they'll be a top ten defensive team once again.
Having said that I would do this trade. Bynum's upside is just too much to pass up and the Sixers don't really need Iggy.
It got me thinking if we can't make a trade with the Lakers involving just Iggy and Hawes for Bynum and filler.
The Lakers could certainly use Iggy's versatility and defense. In fact I dont know a team that don't need Iggy's versatility, except maybe the Sixers because of Turner and Young.
Who said that Philly would give up a Pick??? You need hooked on Phonics bro. Essentially Philly would just be giving up Igoudala and Kapono for Bynum, Balkman, and Sasha. Philly could also get the Lakers 1st rounder for 2011.
IMO, it's actually not that bad of a trade.
Even if Denver trades Melo, it seems like they still want to compete and don't want to go into full rebuild mode. By getting Artest and Iggy, they can still compete for a playoff spot, and they get sharpshooter Jason Kapono, and Devin Ebanks, who I think was a steal in the draft.
The Lakers get another superstar and create another big 3 with Melo, Kobe and Pau, and get solid role players.
The 76ers get their bi man of the future and some decent role players.
The more I think about it I actually love this trade. And the Lakers get somebody who can take over for Kobe because he's getting up there in age. Kobe's what 33 right now? How many years left do you guys think he actually has left in his prime. Remember he came out after his high school year. And look at everybody else from that draft class. Marbury and AI are out the league while Ray Allen is getting by on his shooting ability.
The Nuggets absolute biggest obstacle in the NBA is the Lakers. They wont feed the enemy.
So I'm looking at the headline threads and I see this one pop up.
Instantly I think to myself, should I bother opening this, its gotta be DNYCE.
My finger wages war with my brain and physical prowess outweighs my poor judgment as I continue to click the mouse and open the thread.
I now proceed to ask myself, why the &$#%#&@! do I bother? DYNCE u r a joke.
...But this trade is not that bad. I think if you include all the participants and add K-mart to Phillys roster (or have odom in philly) I think this megadeal would really make things very interesting. The thought of Artest and Kmart on the same team would be like very much "Bad Boys-esque" (or the "hood team" Indy had) and i'm sure the NBA would do something to prevent that from happening.
I just dont see it because the Lakers, thanks to Pau Gasol trade are already a super-team.
Besides, logic plays in that a 2-time champ probably wouldnt do a mega-trade and shake things up so drastically. I cant wait til hoop season.

http://games.espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=2avysqv. Denver cant refuse this trade. This is the only way Denver will stay competitive in the near future. What's The Hold Up?
