Lebron’s HairlineParticipantFree agent center Chris Anderson has just informed that he is willing to sign for the veterans minimum after being amnestied by Denver. Miami should jump all over this guy if they want to have a chance of repeating, as center is their weakest position on the roster. Anderson still has a lot of game left in him, he averaged 5.3 points and 4.6 rebounds in only 14.5 minutes a game. Miami needs to get him. p.s. I’m not a heat fan. Raef LaFrentzParticipant"if they want to have a chance of repeating"
No, yeah, you’re right.
Their only chance at repeating is by signing Chris Anderson.

Lebron’s HairlineParticipantThey can’t expect to ride LeBron all the way back to the finals, they barely beat Boston. Miami needs all the frontcourt depth that can get. With the Knicks, pacers,Celtics, and nets getting a whole lot better and los Angeles looking like a true contender, Miami needs frontcourt help

ENOGSIWONdedeRemember the only reason they beat Boston was injuries, Celtics sweep if they have Wilcox, O’neal, Bradley, and Green

F_Si think it would seriously be unfair, we have the best team in the nba and we already added allen and lewis.
with that said, it would be a great addition

J_01ParticipantYes the celtics were missing players but c’mon a sweep?
Let’s be real… and btw the Heat were missing Chris Bosh for majority of the series and had like a 60% Bosh for the last couple games.

TyroberParticipantBirdman has really tailed off the past couple of years.

B-ball fanParticipantAs a Celtics fan, I can tell you that the losses of Jeff Green (does he even count? He was injured the entire year), Jermaine O’Neal and Chris Wilcox didn’t make a deciding difference in the series. O’Neal struggled all year and Chris Wilcox was worse than Stiemsma. Wilcox had a pretty bad year overall.
The loss of Avery Bradley was huge in the series. I don’t know if the Celtics would have won the series if Bradley had been healthy, but it would have been very different. His perimeter defense is on another level. The Heat would have needed LeBron to take over earlier if the Celtics had Bradley.
I think Anderson would be a nice signing for the Heat, but not likely a difference making one. The Heat are still favorites to make it out of the east and will be a major title contender. Anderson is unlikely to play huge minutes, even if the Heat do sign him. I expect he would be behind Bosh and Lewis in the big man rotation, and would be forced to compete for minutes with Haslem.

Memphis MadnessParticipantShould be a great rematch if Miami and Boston survive until the ECF. I think that I would rather have Jason Terry and Courtney Lee off the bench than Ray Allen and Norris Cole.
Ray Allen should be solid for the Heat but I am not sure he can play with the Big Three all at the same time. They would have to go with 2 shooting guards and a point guard. Chalmers, Ray Allen, Wade, LeBron, and Bosh more than likely. Actually, Jason Terry might have been the better fit for Miami. He could play at the 1 in crunch time with a back court of Jet and Wade, Battier at the 3, LeBron as the power point, and Bosh inside.
Miami could use Birdman as a shot blocker and legit center option. He would be an upgrade over Joel Anthony without a doubt.
The Celtics could also use the Birdman since they lost Stiemsma and Ryan Hollins. Not sure I totally trust Fab Melo as the only legit center on Boston’s roster.
Terry, Lee, Jeff Green, Sully, and Birdman would be a great second unit for Boston.
The Lakers are another veteran contender who could use a legit big man and shot blocker off the bench. They would actually have a pretty good front line off the bench then with Antawn Jamison, Jordan Hill, and Chris Anderson.

BothTeamsPlayedHardParticipantBirdman on South Beach… what could possibly go wrong?

TallmanNYCParticipantLOL. Good point. But yes he would be a nice addition from a basketball standpoint if he can stay out of trouble through the playoffs. Serious rebounder and shot blocker when on the floor (with Anthony and Haslem you only get one or the other). He doesn’t take any shots, leaving plenty for Lebron and Wade. Any player who can contribute without shooting would be a nice addition for the Heat.
He’s probably too weird for Pat Riley. And the legal trouble with the porn might make him untouchable until that gets cleared up.
