EntropyParticipantIts fair to say that he hasn’t lived up to the hype YET. He’s only averaging 14.9pts 6.4reb in 29.9mins this year. But an interesting stat i found was that when he plays 32 or minutes he is averaging 20.2/7.9 !! . Pat Riley even says he expects him to be a 25/10 guy. If only the coach let him play in the 4th quarter more often he could easily be at least a 20 and 8 guy and possibly 25/10 in a couple of years. It will help if heat don’t bring in another PF like boozer or someone else.

llperezi’ve been saying since about the half way point of his rookie season that the heat messed up and he should not have gone top 5 in that draft. I say with full expectations that he could be a 20-10 player. But to me, his stats far outweigh his impact on the game. I’ll make the same comparison as i did before, he reminds me of glenn robinson. Robinson would get you 22-8 and he was nothing that special outside of getting points. Beasley does not have a great post game for a pf, a great permiter game for a sf. He is not a playmaker for his teammates. His defense is poor. But he is skilled enough to fill the box score.

EntropyParticipantBeasley was averaging 26/12 in college as a freshman!! How could he not go top 5.

llperezi didnt say he should not have gone top 5 before the draft either. I dont blame miami for that. I started saying that about halfway through his rookie year. So yes, that is being a monday morning quarterback, but im not pretending otherwise. DOesnt change the fact that i think they made a mistake.

Mr.Knick 32ParticipantOnce he learns how to play defense…he will play more 4th quarters and the numbers will go up.
Until then? He will not get alot of 4thQ mpg

HROT88ParticipantHe just needs to mature as a person. Who knows how long that will take.

EntropyParticipantHis defense has improved a lot from last year. The only way he is going to improve is to get more experience and that means getting playing time in the 4th.

UofAxWildcatsParticipanthe plays with dwayne wade who gets the majority of the shots and has the ball in his hands most of the time… i feel he would be better suited as the go to guy on a different team… i think he has struggled in realizing that he isnt the best player on this team … i would like to see him on the suns or knicks in a uptempo style of play

EntropyParticipantWhat are the chances of him being traded in the off season especially if heat acquire a PF? Will Beasley be moved to the bench?

boomdizzalParticipanti like that comparison to big dogg, hes got scoring skills, i just dont see him doing anything but score, his defense aint great. in terms of rebounds, he isnt a guy who is impossible to box out, and he isnt a hard nosed rebounder, hes just tall and athletic allowing him for 6-8 rebs/game. maybe a more aggressive keith van horn or antoine walker at best. truly a tito jackson in the league.
as far as being a second pick, it was fair he has height, athleticism and skills, i actually didnt like many of the guys drafted after him itcept westbrook and kevin love

llperezi think in hindsight, westbrook, lopez, mayo, love and possibly even EGordon should have all gone ahead of him.

bobbybParticipantAt the start of that season he was projected to go #1 without a doubt. He just needs to grow up

weballin.netParticipantThe thing is his physical and athletic dominance in the NCAA has not been translated in the NBA as Beas is only 6-7 and is too much of a tweener, plus he is not in a run and gun type of offense like Marion was at Phoenix, which prevent him from averaging 20-10.
