MichaelBeasleyParticipant?
What do you guys think of Michael "Great 8" Beasley potential?
30/8/2 47FG%

BKKnicksfanParticipantHe’s putting up 19-5 right now. You expect him to get to 30 and 8?
He’s a small forward, lacks the rebounding ability to get 8 a game in the pros. He has some good scoring nights, great scoring nights, but he isn’t going to put up 30.
24-6 is probably reasonable, but even that’s pushing it

MichaelBeasleyParticipantBeasley @ the start of the season was averaging 22/6/1 on 48fg% , ever since his left ankle injury (which happened 4-5 times) he has averaged 15/6/2 which is the reason why his stats went down. And check the minutes per game he gets 19ppg in only 31mpg is amazing
ps this is his first year playing the small forward as well as being the 1st option

YSUFan10ParticipantNever. Beasley will never average 30 points per game.

MichaelBeasleyParticipant"Offensively, I’ve been a big believer in him," Rivers said before his Celtics beat the Timberwolves 96-93 on Monday night. "I just think he can score. I said it two years ago: I think one day he may lead the league in scoring. He just knows how to score the ball. He has a Carmelo ability to score the ball."
Beasley scored 19 points, playing only 23 minutes because of foul trouble.
"He’s a matchup problem every night," Rivers said. "He’s tough for 3s [small forwards] to guard because of his size. He’s too quick for 4s [power forwards]. And he can shoot. Obviously that’s the key. He has quickness and a shot at that size. That makes him tough to guard."

Scottoant93Participantif he improves on defense, improves rebounding efforts(not necessary though since sf) then he will be a good player. It depends on his efforts of how good he will be

apb540Participant28 and 7. What I think will happen: 24-6.

SteroidParticipantWhy are so many people making a big deal out of his rebounding? 5 a game is reasonable for a SF AND he is on the floor with a guy who averages 15 rebs a game. I think he can be a 20ppg scorer for his career. I think he can have a couple of 24-25ppg seasons especially as the first option at the moment. If he ever gets on a better team, his scoring will drop.

Scottoant93ParticipantI think he avg at best 26 and 6. the question is will his team ever win(twolves)?

BiggysmallsParticipantAs a Twolves Fan, I can easily see Beasley averaging anywhere between 20 and 24 ppg 5 and 7 rpg. But I think the most important part in his development as a player is defensivly and doing more little things. He has an unorthodox yet smooth offensive repertoire and can score from anywhere on the floor, and at this stage in his development, that is impressive because he was a 4/5 in college and a 4 in Miami. He has expanded to the perimeter quite nicely.
Outside of the obvious development he still needs defensively, I would like to see Beasley become more versatile offensively, and to the non basketball people, I dont mean scoring. I mean improving his screening, improving his awareness off the ball, and improving his playmaking. He doesnt have to be a 10 assist kind of guy, but even 3 or 4 would be huge for him because it would make others better and help him a establish a different kind of reputation around the league as a guy players would want to play with.
I hope Beasley develops into the player he is capable of, we’ve seen flashes of brilliance in his short stint in Minny, hopefully he can take the next step as a building block for the Wolves.

ckelley015ParticipantI think Beasleys ceiling as a scorer is very, very high. The problem here (in my opinion) lies in the fact that I don’t know if he has the attitude or work ethic to ever reach that potential. My question is how do him and Kevin Love fit in the future, is he even the number one option on a bottom-dwelling team like the timberwolves right now? Will he take this team to the next level because we all know Love is a double double monster? I dont know if Beasley will ever average 30 per game unless he is on the worst team in the league. Im hopeful, he is a great talent.

Sorry.Winning.ParticipantMichael Beasley’s ceiling is probably 10 feet, standard hieght

Meditated StatesParticipantPrior to that he was looking pretty consistent to scor 23 to 24 everynight.

Tongue-Out-Like-23ParticipantThe same guys calling him a bust last season are on his jock this season.. SMH…

ilike.panochasParticipantBecause of his lack of commitment on defense and questionable workethic (or so they say), I think he will be at best a left handed version of Glen Robinson. Big scoring numbers but doesn’t do the little things enough to take it to superstar level.
0 - Posted on: Tue, 03/29/2011 - 5:34pm #515258
I May Be WrongParticipantI agree with Mess….I predict Glenn "Big Dog" Robinson numbers as well in his prime. about 23 and 6. Offensively he has it but his defense will always be his biggest knock.

montauriush4Participant25 and 8
0 - Posted on: Tue, 03/29/2011 - 7:43pm #515280
kngojcParticipantThe thing is, Michael Beasely has a LOT of potential. But I don’t think he has the work ethic to work on anything but his offense. For him to reach his potential and round out his game, including his rebounding, he would need to work like Kobe does. He has the perfect opportunity to work on his rebounding by having the best rebounder in the league on him team willing to help. Offensively, theres no doubt he could score like Kobe, but not scoring 30 ppg. But I think he could get close to 28/7 if he works incredibly hard in the next for years.
The problem is, I don’t think he will put in that work. And I think Minny will draft a SF in the next few years that is willing to play defense. And he will become a 6th man like what J.R. Smith is. Thats just what I think though.
