The Most Hated U.S. Athlete According To ESPN's Q Rating is back! How Does Everybody Feel About It?
Happy to see him back....Neva hated on Vick
I use to hate Vick with a passion the same way I hate Kobe, but that whole dog fighting thing to me was blown so out of proportion, you got players like Larry Johnson slapping chicks down flights of stairs, and Big Ben just forcing himself on women, they are worse people in my eyes then Vick people at a basic fundamental level dogs are animals. If it wasn't for humans they would be in the wild eating each other and fighting anyway, in March in my city 2 people were killed by pitbulls because pitbulls are just bread to be wild.
Having said that I've been a big Vick supporter from the time that happen, and was extremely shocked and happy when we signed him last year, but right now I'm happy we got him.
whites be hunting deers and niggas- be fightin dogs.....of course da niggas- get in da trublz
True Dat...What makes a dog better then a deer? They're domesticated? Have you ever heard of a deer eating somebodies face off? Because I can google thousands of stories where a dog does that.
regardless of how you feel, you guys have some serious misunderstandings of dogs with they eat peoples face garbage. Neglected and abused dogs who are not raised properly do that stuff. Not dogs that are treated well which is even further reason people like vick are garbage humans.
and if you wanna use the logic deers are the same becasue they dont hurt people, how many deers have actually saved human lives? How many are seeing eye dogs for the blind? How many are used by para and quadra palegics so humans can try and get by in life? How many have actually risked starvation in order to stick it out with their trapped master insttead of abandoning them? How many are great gaurd pets that will risk their life to protect their owner? How many are used by law enforcement? You guys are really ignorant towards dogs.
and to further make things clear, the dog fighting is not what most people are offended by when they think of vick. Fighting dogs is horribel enough as it is. But holding their heads under water, hooking cables and electrocuting them, intentionally having small untrained house pets killed by fighting dogs for amusement. The overall sick and demented torture he put those helpless animals through is way worse then just dog fighting.
nope, not happy at all. Im not gonna bother watching it but does the video say anything about whether the dog was raised correctly? I own a pit bull and i would trust it with anyone. Unfortunately pit bulls seem to attract a lot of dumbass owners becasue they have been bread for aggressiveness and people thinks its cool to have a tough dog. That does not make them dangerous in the right hands. And what does that have to do with being a sick human who tortures animals for fun?
you can keep posting videos and stories until your blue in the face. DOesnt change anything i have said. I am owner of a pit bull and have friends who own pitbulls and they have never harmed a fly. If you go through training with them and know how to raise them and treat them with love they are some of the most loving and loyal dogs you will ever find.
Again, im not gonna watch the videos becasue i can already imagine whats on them. I have heard the stories. You see dogs attacking kids i see dumbass owners who shouldnt own a dog let alone a pit bull.
yeah i mean im really glad vick did his time and now his out there provin his critics wrong... good for him really... and at the same time ima eagles fan, so im really happy for him! :)
Yes these are family dogs that just one day snap...And your right if you don't raise the dog correctly or give them enough attention they become what they are aggressive savage animals. And there are tons of different breads of dogs. The specific dogs that Vick murdered and fought were dogs bread specifically for fighting. You can take a pitbull and nurture it all you want but at the end of the day and pitbull is a breed of canine that was genetically crossed to be aggressive savage fighters so its stuck in their DNA to react on instinct sometimes and just attack. Dogs at the end of the day are still wild animals that can't be fully trusted. If you have a breading licence it's perfectly withing the rule of the government to shoot a dog in the head. That is not against the law but if you drown or electrocute a dog he's public enemy number one well guess what dogs don't feel pain the same way a human does. Why do you think when they play around all they do is bite each other sometimes drawing blood. They have an amazingly high pain tolerance. And with the popularity of domesticated pitbulls the stats for dog inflicted injuries and even fatalities is growing higher. I'm sorry I just can't for sympathy for a dog being abused when perfectly fine domesticated dogs will do things like this to little kids. I'm siding with human beings on this one.
Not picking sides here at all. But a dog can be properly trained and still attack someone. Obviously it helps but tons of accidents with dogs happen even if they're properly trained.
But llperez I'm not tryna to be a smart ass or anything at all i do understand your point perfectly I am not ignorant just opinionated. I am from Philly and dog fighting is very popular here and so is dog abuse and I hate both of those things. If you are going to own anything in life you better take care of it the way it should be taken care of that goes with anything, a pet, a child, a TV. You got to properly take care of your things. And dog fighting is just brutal I can't watch it, it does make me sick. But at the same time the dogs are the ones fighting and what makes it so sick is just how naturally violent these animals truly are. But then again we in ancient times they use to watch actually men battle it out to the death instead of animals. So it's just something that in some form will always allure people.
awwwwwwwwwwww^^^ .... wait a minute!!!! heyyyy!!!!!!
Thats just one off the internet. I dont have any saved of my chloe. But if i posted one of her it would melt your heart. She does have an aggressive nature and plays rough and tries to dominate other dogs. Never ever hurting them and i dont fear her hurting my other dogs for a second. The only thing she has come close to mauling is my face with her tounge when she licks me each morning. I own a german shepard, a dalmation and mixed breed mut and the pit bull is hands down the most loving and eager to please dog of all them. I dont think highly at all of people who harm them. I have seen her flinch when i simply go to wipe the sleep out of her eye, so the picture you draw of a dog that doesnt feel pain like us as some way to rationalize holding their heads under water doesnt fly with me at all. I guess lots of people dont love dogs as much as me so they forgive vick much easier.
Either way, sorry if i came off aggressive with the ignorant comment and i respect your difference of opinion.
Kansas city should sign him, Matt Cassel blows they could have a good offense with Vick
llperez.....CTFU! ur da man that was pic was good, Ida done the samething If i was arguing the other way. In all honesty I own 3 blue nose pits, 2 fully grown and one just a puppy. They're were really my roommates idea and he bought them but I live with them all the same. Pitbulls do require a ton of tension to the point sometimes its annoying. The female Madison will rub her head against my arm sometimes like a cat and I'll go to pet her and the next thing I know my hand is in her mouth as she gnaws my wrists. Nothing violent it just they way they show love. I like the male one Major better tho because he is so much calmer. He'll just sit in front of me and stay untill I pet him sometimes putting his paw on my arm and at first I'll be annoyed but when he does that I can't. Some things in life are just too adorable too deny. With that said I was never mad at Vick or surprised at his actions because dog fighting is very common. I think it is one of the sickest things you could possibly witness but some people are just into different things. Their is no denying the intelligence or usefulness of some dogs such as German Sheppards. But the whole torturing thing is blown out of proportion, I do not believe Vick got off by torturing dogs. I do believe he got off on having the toughest dog and training dogs to fight. But when dogfighters kill dogs it is either because they are badley injured, lost the fight, or just aren't tough. I am not advocating what he did is right but I am also not in the opinion the his soul should burn in hell because a dog is still just another animal. People kill mice everyday and despite the fact they carry diseases they're cute too. My point is that players who are womanizers to me have done more wrong then him. Hitting a female down a flight of stairs or forcing yourself on a girl because you can makes that person an animal and therefore putting them on the same level as the dogs Vick harmed.
llperez fu-k your an idiot
Kansas City would have a good offense with Vick, anybody would he's an All Pro quarterback and and all world athlete.
what about the Raiders that would be a great place for Vick, they have a decent running back in Mcfadden and a decent recieving core
The fights and everything involved are absolutely terrible and the penalties should be much higher than they are for it (18 months??). Now for Vick, I am an Eagles fan and would love to see him start. This has nothing to do with Kolb, just that Vick is playing at an All-Pro level and gives us the best chance to win. Besides, Kolb would have a concussion by the second quarter behind that pathetic offensive line.
APB you are right the Eagles offensive line this year is suspect and Kolb will go down hard again before long. We need Vick's athleticism back there to prevent teams from blitzing.
And What would you guys give up to have Vick play for the Raiders or the Chiefs? A 2nd round pick?
He's gotta be worth at least a 2nd.
Why was Kevin Kolb ever playing over him? Kolb has never looked like more than a backup to me, and Vick is a proven QB who can makes plays in the air and on the ground. Andy Reid dropped the ball, but luckily he played Vick early on before it was too late to make an evaluation of his ability to run a team
Cuz Kevin Kolb is still a good QB. I would of played him too but ya gotta run with this Vick thing and see where he can take this team.
Vicks contract is up after this year so they might not even have to trade for him
A team could use him right now and also Andy Reid may resign him just to trade him. Reid gave Vick his shot at getting back in the league and showcased him off for the league when we had no business even signing him. Remember the Eagles had Donny, Kolb, and Feeley when we signed Vick. So Vick owes a lot of loyalty to Andy for being the reason he's relevant again. And the Bills could use Vick right now.
Vick for Marshawn Lynch???
Haha thats the trade I do in Madden with my Buffalo franchise. I would want a pick too cuz Lynch is a head case, or I'd rather have one of the Bills corners. But Vick and Avant, for Lynch and 3rd rounder.
I don't know if I want anyone off the Bills lol They need to give the Raiders a call remind them they are rolling with Jason Campbell haha
HAHAHA The Bills screwed up by not drafting Tebow or Clausen and drafting the 3rd or fourth best RB in the draft in Spiller when Best has always been better. The Raiders could use him too, I'd take a 3rd round pick for them and nothing less. But it's gonna be hard and football trades are weird most of the time when players get traded away in football its for nothing. Look at them trading Moss back then for like a fourth round pick.
very good points thou
Just Name the Starter...This Is about to get interesting...
despite my personal feelings about vick, i htink him being the starter was a no brainer. Why risk whether or not kolb can get it done knowing hes gonna have vick breathing down his shoulder every weekend when you have a guy playing great already who is moving the ball and putting points on the board.
I still think Spillers a beast but they already have two good running backs so they dont need him.
They should have taken Anthony Davis, or even Dez Bryant maybe.
Used to be my favorite player in the NFL. As soon as he came into the league he over took Randy Moss as my favorite player, I just thought Vick was amazing. He was a QB who was faster than most running backs in the league, and he had a cannon arm (of course the cannon would hit your house if you were aiming for the broad side of a barn, but he had arm strength, just not incredible accuracy, no one has it all). He was incredibly exciting to watch at Virginia Tech and I remember I was in Virginia after he got drafted and copped a number 7 Hokies jersey and a 7 Falcons (think I still have worn it a couple times, though I do not know if in public since the infamous charges). He also was a fellow Michael V, which I thought was kind of cool, and he just seemed to get things done. The Falcons had a beastly defense, but when you win games, you look good as a QB, and they won games. He beat the Packers at Lambeau in a play-off game against Brett Favre, which I thought was totally bad ass. The guy just seemed to be near the top of the world when it came to football. Than, at the draft that year, I heard the first mumblings of the Bad Newz Kennel charges. I do not remember think much of it, but nonetheless I was worried for Michael Vick. Than I learned more about the charges, finally reading articles about the intricacies of dog fighting and what Michael Vick had been party too. Like a majority of the American public, well, the world, it disgusted me. I felt like I understood why he would be involved in such things, and it did stem from some sort of culture he was involved with, but to me it was still barbaric and inexcusable. Just a disgusting practice that basically tortured animals, and no Pit Bull attack will convince me otherwise. Just read about dog fighting and look into what Michael Vick took party too, and lied about, and I do not know how you can not at least be a tad sickened.
So, although Michael Vick quickly lost his favorite player status (which went to Adrian Peterson upon his entrance into the NFL), I still was probably in the minority that was able to say I would not mind having him back in the NFL. As a sports fan, sometimes you are shocked at what celebrities/athletes seem to get away with, indeed as many were shocked and outraged at Michael Vicks penalty that most thought was far to lenient. But, on the other hand, as much as this may make me sound insane and lacking moral support, I really still wanted to see him play. I thought it would be a crime if his career ended, even with everything he did. When the penalty was handed down, I realized Michael Vick may indeed miss 3 crucial years in football, but I also thought about how he might eventually come back and what it would be like. It took a long time, but it finally came, and it appears that he might indeed be better than before, without losing his incredible burst that made him so dangerous. So, while I can not forget, I may be counted as someone who has forgiven Michael Vick. I wish no harm to him and sincerely hoped this changed him for the better. In no way did I think he would be starting at quarterback over Kevin Kolb, but with the way he has played, he fully deserves too. At this point they have Kolb at back-up and recovering from a concussion, so I do not think he has totally lost out, but honestly, Kevin Kolb will never be the quarterback weapon Michael Vick is at this point. The Eagles have a ton of weapons on offense and speed to match-up with any team in the league, probably above even Tennessee (Chris Johnson may be the fastest player in the league, but Jackson and Vick are not far behind, and way ahead of Vince Young). So, I for one am slightly excited about Michael Vick being a starting quarterback. I know it will definitely lead me to watching the Eagles above a lot of other teams, where as if it were Kolb still starting they would be a lot further down the list.
Vick to the Niners, only reason Alex Smith is still around because they invested so much money in him
LLPerez I completely agree about the pit bulls. I have on too. I actually did a project on pit bulls and their percieved dangers. It goes something like this:
1. Pitbulls are very big and have very powerful jaws. Because of this when a pit-bull attacks, it does major damage always. Rarely does a pit-bull bite someone without it being reported.
2. All kinds of idiots get pit bulls and don't train them. Or they do train them to bite and fight.
These are the two essential issues that have created the negative stigma around pit bull terriers. In fact, the smallest dogs are often the breeds most likely to bite. But if they do bite it is often not serious and people see it as harmless and find no reason to report it. Pit bulls are not the dogs most statistically likely to bite, but they are among the most likely to do damage.
If you looked closely you could find countless instances when other seemingly harmless dogs snapped and bit people they were familiar with, like in Mr. 1934's videos, but rarely do those dogs inflict so much damage. All these factors have combined to create a negative perception of pitbulls that people like Mr. 1934 feed into. Because of the misinformation about the breed, people are more likely to emphasize the fact that an attack came from a pitbull.
In short, pit bulls are no more likely to bite than other breeds, they just cause a lot more pain when they do. If trained properly, having a pit bull is just as safe as having any other breed.
