MikeyV - Why all the trades in our fantasy league?
I am just trying to come up with a strategy. I won my league last year and I figured that these trades are gambles that could pay off. I believe I am taking most of the risk. My first trade was actually from ProudGrandpa, and was ridiculous, so I guess I felt I had to take it. We'll see how it turns out. Could be alright, could blow up in my face. But, in the mean time, why the heck not, lol?
Yeah, you even tried to offer me. And your comment was BS.
"This trade helps you in all catagories"
As for the trade, I shall review it in more detail before I make an ultimatum.
It did Aamir. Just happened to help me in a few as well. Took it off the table I believe. But, it was a good trade, believe that :).
We will see what happens.
I recieve:
James Harden
Al-Farouq Aminu
Mehmet Okur
MikeyV recieves:
David West
Chauncey Billups
Marcus Camby
How is that lopsided in any way? I don't see how MikeyV can get 3 guys over 30 and call it a lopsided trade.
It is fantasy basketball. Plus, I traded the better assets for guys that I would not have gotten with Mehmet Okur or Al Farouq-Aminu.
Finally, Aamir, do not brag about not updating your fantasy team. If you did not want to update it, why in the hell did you join in the first place? Usually, I side with you on these ridiculous spats between you and PG, but I am with Gramps on this one. He only works with what you gave him.
LLPerez started this one McExcluded. I announced to my friends that I felt no real reason to be responsible for a fantasy league this season. I will maybe feel differently next year, you will receive an invite.
Come March, you bet your @ss you are going to make a bracket! Plus, you better stick to your pre-season prediction of NJIT taking home the title!
But, llperez invited me and I was all like........
damn proudgrampa, you got hosed on that trade. And who makes deals based on age, this isnt a keeper league. Hope you guys enjoy the league. McDunkin, sorry. I've invited you in the past and you didnt accept so i didnt think you were interested.
Ive been trying to get in ann LL Perez league for two years.
Billups and Camby have little value, so no loss there. I may have slightly underestimated David West, but I think Harden might be the trade's best player (and I'm strapped for SGs). Okur is still versatile and aminu has potential, so I'm pleaed
^I think that Billups will have pretty good value, cause although he'll have a lot of trouble guarding 2 guards, fantasy wise he'll have a pretty good offensive season. But he won't give you anything other than points, if that was your concern.
Camby on the other hand has no value scoring wise at all, however he will give you double digit rebounding, or at least close to it.right now he's averaging 3 and 11, last season 5 and 10. He may decline a bit, however I think that if you need rebounding, he's a great pickup, cause he's been getting these numbers in 26 minutes a game. I don't think he'll get any more than that, but if he does his owners will be in luck.
Okur is player I really liked before his injury, and I still think he can have some value. He's averaging 27 minutes a game, and 7 points and 5 rebounds while shooting 40% from the field. I think his shooting percentage will increase, and being back with DWill will definately help him, but I don't expect more than 9 and 6 from him, but still a useful pickup.
I don't know your particular deal, but it seems like Harden and Okur for Billups, West, and Camby. If so, you are banking on Harden to have a really good breakout year, which I believe will happen. He has great playmaking ability, and serves as a spark plug. But he's still scoring around 16 and getting 6 boards, and 4 dimes. If you're looking for a guy that gets you stats all around, good pickup, but you gave up too much for Harden. West isn't getting off to his usual start, however 12 and 8 while shooting just 36% from the field means that the Pacers are making West a focal point of their offense. Plus he's playing just couple minutes less than he usually does, so by the end of the season, I expect his boards to be down around 7, even maybe 6.5, but his scoring will be closer to 15 or 16.
Not if you would have played me, Grandpa. You are doing well, but if you look at the categories, I am top 5 in every one in llperez's league right now outside of FG%. I also am ahead of you right now in every category outside of FG and FT%. In other words, enjoy your lead while it lasts my geriatric friend.
Also, I want to point out, I killed you in that trade (that you made). Also, I have to say, think most of my trades have worked out pretty well thus far. Famous last words, that will probably bite me in the @ss, but I like the deals I have made for my team.

He Recieves:
I told him it would help his team chemistry. He responded with some INCREDIBLY witty comment about jerry Sandusky and my grandkids.
Nevermind, I checked my E-mail, and saw that you countered the offer. Let's replace Stuckey with Odom, so you get Young, I get Wes Johnson and Odom. I would be willing to switch Wes Johnson out for another player if you wish to do so.
How about you actually update your roster? Do you have any concept of how fantasy basketball works? If you don't, I would help you. If you do, you are doing it wrong.
Also, Grandpa, my Sandusky comment was as witty as your offer. I could have asked if you would let a great white shark give you a bj, the answer would still be the same, wouldn't it?
As of now, you did. Nick Young is hitting his stride, and he'll probably get you 15-18 points a game again, but I really like Odom's potential in Dallas' system. I really feel that once he gets his head right, than I really believe he can get 15 and 7 shooting above 50% from the field. Young will definatly get his points, but their offense is really stagment and a lot of careless play and turnovers. Plus there are a lot of young guys that are gonna want to get his own, and add in a surging Javale McGee, and Vesely now, there will be more guys getting touches. I really like the flow of Dallas' offense. Lamar will play more than spot minutes at the point, and at times he'll be in with Nowitzki and Haywood, which will give other teams big matchup problems.
The only thing is that Young will get his minutes, but Odom may not get as many minutes due to Dallas' depth, but I think he'll fit into the system and help me in several catagories.
It's a gamble, but in time, I think it'll pay off.
aamir, i go a week in advance updating my rosters so i dont have to do it daily. You have very little chance of suceeding if you dont play guys daily.
Aamir, if you need rebounds, than I guess the Odom trade is alright. But, if you think Odom will score nearly as much as Nick Young and get you close to the amount of 3's, you are crazy. Lamar's sudden lack of interest leads me to believe that his shooting a high percentage seems unlikely, as well.
LL, that is why I hated being a fantasy manager. It is so easy to update your team and takes so little effort. It honestly takes about 5 minutes to update your team for the week. Maybe more if you have injuries and look to pick up replacements (Kwame Brown, Aamir). But, there are so many guys not playing in this league right now, super lame. Hopefully they step up their bars.
This is where I give props to a guy like ProudGrandpa. He may be an attention seeking troll at times, but he pleasantly surprised in this fantasy league. I still think the trade you made with me absolutely worked in my benefit, but I think you are taking advantage of Aamir in this one. Nonetheless, if Aamir is not going to actually play his players, than he deserves it, lol.
Aamir, if your guys are on the "Bench", you get no points for them. You do not have to switch players daily, but you can do it ahead of times weeks in advance to make sure you get points and have everyone in playable slots (that's what she said). I tried to send you a message about this, you are not the only one not doing this.
Still, as a person with obvious constant internet access seeing that you post here most every day, you can at the very least make sure your fantasy team is competitive. It makes leagues a lot more fun when everyone takes just that little bit of time to make sure everyone is playing. If not, than there was no point of even having a team.
I've noticed that as well MikeyV and was going to ask what's up? I'm winning 8-1 this week. I think you are up 9-0 MikeyV and llperez is 9-0 as well. I'm not saying our teams are so stacked but are these other users losing hope ALREADY?
My buddy used to make that excuse when I won in fantasy last year saying "Oh well if I updated my roster I would have won"... I don't want to hear that lame excuse considering he was on facebook like 4 hours a day and it takes 4 minutes to update your line-up. Oh well, guess I'll just accept my 8-1 win but it feels like an empty win considering my opponent didn't even try this week.

haha just wondering out of curiousity. I think you've traded 9 players and we're only 2 days into the season. I will say this, that trade I just accepted from you made me think super hard about finally accepting it. All your trades seem to be beneficial for both sides.
