Ok so when it comes to MIP, I have a little bone to pick here. Statistically, the award should probably go to Aaron Brooks, George Hill, Durant, but if your really looking at who has improved their game the most, I think its gotta be Corey Brewer. Could be my bias, but coming into this season I would have never, EVER, have thought C-Brew would be putting up 13 PPG and shooting 34.5% from 3. If you watched him before this year, his shot was one of the ugliest in the league. This year, he changed his shooting form and drastically improved his shooting. He is now being relied on more than Big Al at times to score for this team. He was a huge liability last year on O, but now his confidence is growing it is showing whether by him draining a three in 33 consecutive games or by him shatting all up on Derek Fisher. Very impressive IMO and despite who wins the award due to their statistical output, I think he clearly is the most improved player.

I think Kevin Durant is the MIP. The turnaround he’s guided OKC to is remarkable. He’s not made the improvements Brewer, Brooks and Hil have made statistically, but he’s the MIP to me by the winning he’s brought to OKC. Who thought they’d be this good this year??

i always have a tough time with most improved. There are a ton of guys who could win it each year. As for brewer, yeah he got better. But when you are competing for minutes with sasha pavlovic, ryan gomes damien wilkins and wayne ellington, you should be able to play long enough to get 13 points on that sorry team.

I agree Brewer has improved alot, but his team only has 15 wins. I think Brooks is the clear favorite but I’d probably give it to Bogut considering how much better he’s gotten and where his team is going.

Stop it Sansan it is getting really annoying. MIP this year is especially tough. There are so many good candidates. Aaron Brooks is certainly a possibility. But Bogut and Durant will be battling for it. Too bad Bogut got injured, potentially ending his season. Now the award will probably go to Durant or Brooks. I’d pick Durant. I had the thunder as a borderline playoff team this year, but I didn’t think they would be this good. Never in my wildest dreams did I think the Thunder would be able to go from I think 25 wins last year to almost 50 wins this year and then challenging the Spurs and the Blazers for the 6th and 7th seeds. Too bad they lost to both the Warriors and the Suns in the end. I was rooting for them though. The thunder are my second favorite team, behind the Jazz of course.

If Brewer can help the Wolves become a threat next year, and continue to work on his game, he could be the MIP next year. (I expect an improvement from 13.5 ppg to 20ppg in order for him to make it. 20 will be pretty tough though if Turner ends up going to Minny.)

Yea 20 is gonna be very difficult to get, especially since his primary job will be guarding the oppositions best Wing or Guard. But, overall with him being a #7 overall pick, I am very very pleased with his progression.

Salmons is not gettting it, you do realize he was almost this good last year in Chicago, he didn’t improve as much as Brooks or Bogut did.

There are a lot of candidates for MIP this season. You can even throw Westbrook’s name in there.

I’d go with Aaron Brooks though.

Im not saying it wasn’t impressive, but Lebron’s second half was impressive to, but he is also always good. Salmons dis have a good second half, but he was also almost as good last year so he didn’t “improve” as much as other leading candidates.

No Landry talk anymore? His numbers have actually gone up since being traded. 18 ppg and 6.5 rbs in Sacramento, bumps his season totals to 16.8 ppg and 5.8 rpg which is way up from 9 points and 5 rebounds last year.

If Joakim Noah hadn’t been battling a nagging injury this spring I think he could have been in consideration. He was averaging almost 12 rbs per game before his injury occured and was tearing it up in comparison to his overall performance last year.

Landry is definitely a candidate. While he was in Houston, he was one of the NBA leaders in regards to 4th quarter scoring.

Damn… Too many candidates. Throw Wallace on there too. He’s got to be somewhere among the top. He played in his first All-Star game this season too.
