That’s one guy who I wanted the Grizzlies to look at.  The back end of the first round is now a little less deep.

Back end is still less deep but I don’t think Harrell was a late first round pick. Think he had a chance at the lotto. Think he could’ve went anywhere from 10-18. I like him a lot.

I was REALLY hoping that Harrell would be available for Orlando with their additional WoNK pick in the first round, which will likely fall in the 13-15 range. Orlando badly needs somebody (besides Kyle O’ Quinn) who can protect the paint next to Vucevic, and not only did Harrell seem like a great fit, he appears NBA ready on defense.

Good luck to the big fella

Not sure he made the right decision. He can certainly work on some aspects of his game (low post offense, jump shot), but he was a lock for the first round and could’ve been a late lottery pick. He’s giving up a lot of money and exposing himself to a lot of risks. Not sure how good Lousville is going to be next year. I guess that’s one of the results of the new deadline Ncaa imposed to player in order to keep their elegibility, they can’t really test the waters and so they don’t have enough time to make their decision.

wow, not a good decision imo.

he’s already won a title there. he positioned himself to be a 1st round lock this year.

perfect time to leave, not much to prove over there.

Sometimes these 20 something kids would rather stay at school, where the coeds are plentiful amd you’re treated like a god rather than having to grow up almost overnight and have to face life as an adult. Is that so wrong?

The gold digger percentage will increase dramatically. College is just a less mentally demanding place for an athlete, assuming they’re not into their studies.

Harrell is a talented kid, great finisher, hardworker, fantastic energy guy,but he’s 1 dimensional…He might’ve been rated the 5th best power forward prospect behind Randle,Saric,Gordon and Payne….With so many other talented players in this draft, not everyone can go in the 1st round…..Another year to work on his post game, ball handling and refine his skills..Will elevate him to lottery next season….

This announcement is great for Cardinal fans as they’ll make their ACC debut this fall….

I don’t really think its worth a new post so I’ll just add here that Marcus Lee is returning to UK..not a surprise but he does make the first of the freshmen to commit to coming back.

Thats a big disappointment. I watched a postgame interview where he looked extremely upset they lost this doesnt surprise me as much as it dissapoints me. I was excited to see him in the NBA thought he would go 17th to Phoenix and no further then 20th to Toronto.

Can’t help but think when a player who’s a first round lock comes back to school it’s because nefarious forces are at work.  GL to him, but I can’t see him getting a lot better, he doesn’t have a polished game.

hopefully he works on his game.he should of waited to make his decsion. even though the ncaas is comping up the nba’s deadline is what truly matters.taking the test the waters out of the nba draft hurt the nba imo.

Louisville has two top 100 center recruits coming in for next season.  They were obviously planning to move on, but Harrell can only benefit them the longer he stays. Like WCS, bad for his draft stock, but great for his team moving forward.

Louisville has a deep and loaded recruiting class. They have 3 four-star bigs, Anas Osama Mahmous, Chinanu Onuaku, and Jaylen Johnson, with 2 four-stars on the perimeter as well, PG Quentin Snider and SF Shaqquan Aaron. They also have a fourth big coming in, center Matz Stockman, of a three-star rating.

Disappointed that those guys will have some of their minutes taken by Harrell. Having said that, if he develops a polished offensive game, he could end up as a high lottery pick. Interesting decision.
