Derrick Brown is listed as 6’8″ 227 LBS. That is ideal size for an NBA small forward and he does all the things that an NBA team could ask a small forward to do. He is listed as a late first round pick in the 2010 draft while Earl Clark and Damion James are in and out of the 09 mock lottery. I want to hear other peoples opinion on Derrick Brown’s game, potential, and where people think he should or will go in whichever draft he enters.

I went to the NCAA tourney a few years ago and got to see Xavier, Derrick Brown was a freshman. The moment I saw the kid I knew he would be a great player. He has a solid all around skill set with decent size and athleticism. He can hit 3’s and can score in traffic. I don’t think he will ever be an NBA all star, but he could definately be a starter for 7-8 years. I see Brown going anywhere from 18-25 in either of the next two drafts.

I don’t know how underrated derrick brown is. I’m pretty sure scouts are aware of what he brings to the table, as he has very good measurables. He’s a guy who is going to be an nba player. However, there are some things that he still has the work on if he wants to make the transition from a guy who plays more inside on the collegiate level, to playing on the wing full time as an nba 3. Ball handling is of course being one of the key issues. He should stay for his senior yr. As far as his potential, if he develops at the same rate, I could see him have a josh smith type impact at the next level. Being the kind of high energy guy who can block shots, defend, and knock down shots occasionally etc…

Next Donnell-Harvey ? He’s not allow to be an allstar because of poor ballhandling and the ability to creat oppurtunity for himself . But he will be a good role player if he can polish his defence and be more smart in moving without ball . His huge athleticism is a big advantage in transition play.

The Jump shots the hardest thing to improve on is a jumpshot and Brown is solid there. Ball Handling and defense arent nearly as hard to fix. Defense is conditioning, a commitment and a mind set. Ball Handling is repetition, he can develop a handle by the start of his rookie season and if somebody gets on his ass he can be a good defender. He’s athletic as can be and fundamentally sound, both are a great base in developing a great player.

i have been going to xavier games forever and i may be biased but derrick brown has the potential to be a lotto pick even though the draft is loaded. even though xavier will have the greatest team they will ever have if he stays he would be wise to leave and go to the draft this yr becuz next yrs draft is stacked. sean miller has done a very good job in progressing brown as a shooter and becuz of that he will be an early 1st rounder. every nba team should want him because he is a matchup problem for any small forward becuz of his explosive athletic abilities. he has the ability to shoot from 3 not to mention dunk from pretty much anywhere. mark my words he will be an nba all star, he is a better version of josh smith many people say he iwll be like tyrus thomas and i want to kill all of them. he is nothing like tyrus because he now has a developed jump shot/ midrange game wich will be util in the nba. he is better than earl clark because he is stronger in the inside and when he gets drafted he will get weight put on him which will allow him to post upo any small forward(except lbj duhh). he can handle the ball very very well for his size and he is very qucik. he is a solid rebounder and he makes plays. the fact that he can change a game with one very explosive dunk is something every nba franchise wants. so expect in about 5 years the number 5 to be on the back of an allstar jersey. his nba comparson is prolly josh smith/tayshaun prince.

derrick brown could not be more overhyped. first off, he cant hit a jumper, which is really going to hurt him in the pros. Secondly, he cant just rely on his athletic ability, because the big men in the nba are just going to bump him around because of his 1 lb of muscle. I will compare him to a left handed andre blatche, with slightly more potential. The most underated player in the nba draft is most obviously Tyrese Rice hands down, for his jump shot and his play making ability in the toughest conference in college basketball, the ACC, not the A-10. Look out for Rice to be like a more athletic Derrick Fisher

Yeah so I guess derricks three point percentage of 46 percent is worse than rices 36 percent. Get yo facts straight. I agree he is week but an NBA team will put thirty pounds on him easy. He will be a very good player. And most underrated is levance

My college teammates Peterson Bernard and Tony Gallo are from Boston College area
and they played with Tyrese Rice 😉
I think they’d agree the most underated player in the nba draft was most obviously Tyrese Rice
