flybobbyflyParticipantPredicted Everything i could think of for the up coming season.
EAST
1st. Orlando- I figured i would be bold. They trade for chris paul at all star break.
2nd. Miami- season filled witht success, and drama. Wade and James begin bickering in the beginning of a new kobe-shaq type relationship.
3rd. Chicago- i liked their pick ups this year. Boozer adds alot for them inside
4th. Boston- i figured they will have a similar season to last year
5th. Atlanta- ditto
6th. Milwaukee- I think they have potential to be higher than this but we have to see how bogut comes back from injury, and how jennings come back his sophomore year.
7th. Indiana- I think they are making good moves, collison will help hibbert and granger.
8th. New York- maybe they wont win 41 games. but they will get the 8th seed.9th. Charlotte- they are not going to be as good as last year unless they can get a point guard for dampier. if so they could make the playoffs again
10th. Washington- Wall and Mcgee are going to become one of everyones favorite duos.
11th. Philly- another bad season. end up losing iguadola for expiring contracts and draft picks
12th. New Jersey- Better year. still bad though.
13th. Detroit- Could do alot better if they can get somebody to give them somebody solid down low for one of their multitude of talented wings. unlikely
14th. Toronto- They should have an awesome highlight reel. and win 18-20 games
15th. Cleveland- 15 gamesWEST
1st. Denver- I wanted to be bold again.
2nd. LAL- Obviously should be here or higher.
3rd. Dallas- they have all the pieces that won 55 games last year.
4th. Utah- Good management, Coaching, and Team leadership will get them in the top half.
5th. Portland- they could be higher but i dont like their new management or Greg odens knees.
6th. San Antonio- old reliable
7th. OKC- Rematch of last years series with LA. you have to beat the best to be the best
8th. Memphis- they got deeper in the offseason and draft, player development will let them reach the playoffs.9th.Houston. Good coaching and leadership, not enough to cut it in the west though.
10th. Suns- Losing Amare is a way bigger set back than people thought. his MVP play for the second half of the season pushed them from 8th seed to third.
11th. New Orleans- They dont win enough games to keep chris paul.
12th. LAC- Things look good for them but they begin to realise Baron Davis isnt their future. go for a pg in the lottery
13th. Golden State- Similar season to last year, maybe they trade ellis
14th. Sacramento- Still showing signs of being the futures team. still in the Lottery though
15th. Minnesota- Hopefully rubio is as good as kahn things he is. or hopefully they fire kahn. worst season in the league.PLAYOFFS

mikeyvthedonParticipantDefinitely have my own thoughts on the matter, but I do like the way you made them. My biggest shock as far as awards go has to be Brandon Roy 2nd Team All-Defense. Brandon is a great player, but I think that he is an average defender at best, and their are many better choices, unless he takes a step forward in that category this year. Kenyon Martin is a strong defender, he played Dirk very well a couple years ago, but I have always thought he lacked as a rebounder, and of course he is injury prone. Nuggets fan? 🙂 Well, I have no idea how Orlando is going to win the championship with their current team, but it is not impossible. I am going to hook my predicts closer to the season, when some other key minor free agents have signed and some other trades are made before training camp.

TyroberParticipantDenver will not be the one seed. The lakers might coast a little during the regular season but the 1st seed is theirs. and I am very confused as to why you think Dwade is going to average over 30? He is going to be around 25 ppg simply because there is too much scoring on that team. Lebron, Bosh, Miller. They are going to score the ball

Tyreke JohnsonParticipantLike some of your bold predictions but for Orlando beating LA in 7 games? That is not realistic, they have really made no significant improvements since their last Finals appearance against the Lakers and the Lakers have made some off season acquisitions including gaining a former Magic player, Barnes. Now if the Magic were able to acquire Chris Paul then there is more of a possibility but they would have to trade away their depth to get him chances are and plus the Hornets organization has already tried pleasing Paul by getting Ariza so I do not see him leaving NO this year so that means the match up would be
PG Fisher against Nelson, I will give the slight edge to Fisher because he brings veteran leadership with clutch plays time and time again and also is capable of defending Nelson though Nelson is more talented.SG-Kobe against Carter, this is hands down Kobe, he has aged much more gracefully then Carter and is better at getting to the rim, posting up, shooting the mid range or three pointer, passing and even rebounding, he has that killer instinct and mentality that put him way above Carter as a player
SF- Artest against Pietrus, Mickeal Pietrus is my boy and is very underrated as a player, he can shoot it, has above average athleticism and can defend pretty well but I gotta give it to Artest on this one, Artest can lock up on the perimeter on just about anybody and when he is able to hit the open three pointer and if aggressive attacking the basket and occasionally posting up, he makes LA an even bigger threat.
PF-Pau Gasol against Rashard Lewis, weird match up because Pau is a finesse PF with a great back to the basket game, face up game, utilizes ability to finish with both hands, can hit the mid range jumper, solid defender in the post but Lewis is a stretch PF who can hit the three pointer and mid range shot and is very perimeter oriented, does have a decent post up game but does not really use it due to Howard being in the post, I give Gasol the edge here because of his superior skill as a big man but he is at a disadvantage defensively on the perimeter with Lewis
C- Andrew Bynum against Dwight Howard, this was a no brainer, Bynum is a good C but is injured way too often to be fully effective, Howard is way more athletic, can run the floor, far better defender and shot blocker, better rebounder, the only thing Bynum has on Howard at this point is better foot work and post moves, if Howard can even get a decent post up game he beats Bynum in every category, advantage goes to Howard
The Magic do have tons of depth though which makes their bench better, they can play Williams, Anderson, Reddick, Bass, and Gortat throughout the whole game and for the most part the bench is very effective but the Lakers bench Brown, Barnes, Blake, Odom is solid but can be outplayed by the Magic’s bench.

ChewyParticipantI am pretty sure he will be out 2-3 months of the season w/ a broken something. A 6th man award is possible in the future, just not next year. Plus as long as Manu and Jamal Crawford keep coming off the bench he will have stiff competition. Plus 1 for you.

flybobbyflyParticipantI knew of course that there would be alot of things to disagree about. i didnt go with the safe prediction on many things because that wouldnt be as fun, and things never go the way you think they will anyway. my prediction has chris paul going to orlando at the all star break so that boosts their success in my mind.
honestly i probably made some bad picks on the all defensive teams. in my defense i am usually very surprised at who makes the defensive team anyway. but brandon roy was a bad choice i agree.
yes i am a denver fan. i feel like if things go their way this year they could be the top seed in the west. they are definitely not the favorites but they have all the pieces they would need to do it.thanks for reading. It was fun trying to guess what will happen.

They have tons of deph up front. also if GSW had the same season as last year they have about 6 d league call ups and tie the nba record for games missed by injuries

Mr.Knick 32ParticipantOnly thing I didn’t like is how the Heat go through this “Disagreement” thing.
I don’t see that happening. Wade, James and Bosh are all in it to win it and I cannot see a ego issue really getting in there way. If that happens, I’m 100% sure Pat Riley will smooth things out.
He smoothed out the Lakers, he smoothed out the Knicks and smoothed out the Heat. He could do it this year.

i generally like that you give k.mart and the nuggets some probs but injuries will stop them
k.mart > varejao for 2nd defensive team this year would have been more than fair
nice post though!
