Captain_CharismaParticipantWhat’s up my peeps? Heres how I would draft for each team. This isn’t what I think will happen, but what I would do if I was the GM for each team. I will continue to do these, by 5, I’ll try to do at least one a day, maybe two. Here is the top 5.
1. Cle – Derrick Williams: F Arizona
Simply put, Williams is the best player in the draft IMO, Cavs need help everywhere, Williams can give them dynamic scoring, rebounding and defense. Williams has has a great work ethic and motor and athleticism to share. My only concern is Williams is a tweener, if Williams is to become a star, he and the Cavs need to stick him to one position and go from there, SF or PF. I think Williams right now is better suited to play PF although he is undersized, but with his work ethic Williams could be better off at SF.
2. Min – TRADE/ Enes Kanter: C Kentucky/Turkey
If I’m Minnesota’s GM I would look to trade this pick now that Rubio is coming over, they need a good scoring SG or a strong C. There really are not any SG in this draft that warrant to be #2 (although I think Burks and Hamilton are going to be really good) but Kanter is worthy of this pick and fits into Minnesota. But I’m shaky on Kanter, High Risk/ High Reward. Minnesota would have a possible two-headed monster in the post with Love and Kanter. Minnesota should try to package this pick and maybe Wes Johnson to get someone like Monta Ellis, if not Kanter is the man for Minnesota.
3. Utah – Brandon Knight: PG Kentucky
I think Knight > Irving. I love Knight’s shooting ability and his ability to come through in the clutch (as a UK fan I saw him come many times, he lead that team to the Final Four, and shows he can carry a team.) My only problem here is Utah has Devin Harris, who I think is still a very good PG, but I think Knight can be a guy who you build around, so I would move Harris to get some players or picks and go ahead with Knight and the #12 pick. Yes I’m biased to Knight, but I also believe in his ability and talent.
4. Cle – Kyrie Irving: PG Duke
Cavs fan would rejoice! Imagine if they could get Irving and Williams who are the top 2 prospects in this draft. I’m not too high on Irving as others are, but I do like him as a player, just not as much as some others. Irving is a true floor general with good quickness and speed and a solid jumper. Pairing him with the dynamic Williams would make for a great combo. Think about this Cavs fans and Dan Gilbert, if Miami continues to struggle, and these two pan out and they can get good quick, who knows? maybe Cavs will win one before Lebron? lol just saying
5. Tor – Kemba Walker: PG UConn
Toronto is an enigma to me, I’m not sure what to think of Bargnani and Derozan, some times I love these guys and other times I think these guys are destined to be on mediocre teams. Toronto could really use another scorer, they also need a PG, WAIT! that’s Kemba Walker. I think Walker could develop into a solid PG given time, and will all know about his scoring ability. Walker does need to work on his 3-point shooting
I will do 6-10 hopefully tommorow or soon enough, until then I’ll talk to my peeps later.

What The DevilParticipantAgreed with the "lol@knight before irving"

Captain_CharismaParticipantThat’s because you all are mindless sheep and refuse to think for yourselves, you let the internet/media dictate who you think who is better, last time I checked Knight lead UK as a freshman to a final four, beating the #1 Ohio St, Irving lost in the sweet 16, I’m sorry I can think for myself and think something different.

WinterSoldierParticipantWell there is zero chance that will happen nobody will take Knight over Irving and it’s not you drafting it’s the Jazz and they will not do that.

What The DevilParticipantMindless sheep? You put Knight over Irving because you’re biased to Knight…and you call us mindless sheep…..you just made my brain bleed.

Captain_CharismaParticipantYes I’m a UK fan, and I root for Knight, but I also saw how he hit clutch shoots in the tourney vs Princeton, WVU and Ohio St, leading a team to a final four, I never saw Irving hit clutch shots, granted he was hurt for a while, I put Knight ahead of Irving because I honestly think he is better, I don’t understand why it is so outlandish I think Knight is better.

MagikKnickParticipantSo..according to you the deeper you go in the tourny, the higher you should go in the draft?
Shiit, Let me put Jamie Skeen at No. 2, right after Kemba Walker!

PulseGlazerParticipantI, too, think Knight ends up better than Irving (really not high on Irving at all – he reminds me far too much of Conley), but if you want Knight and Irving is on the board, you trade down, similar to when Orlando decided they had to have Penny and Webber was on the board.

kobyzParticipantsome suggestion for the #2 pick trade, tell me what you think:
Minnesota trade: #2 pick(Enes Kanter), Wayne Ellington or Martell Webster
Oklahoma City trade: James Harden, Cole Aldrich and #24 pick
this way OKC getting a great low post present with real offensive ability which they really need maybe to get over the hump, will create very strong and balance bigs trio of Enes Kanter/Serge Ibaka/Kendrick Perkins, the price in the deal is to decline at the SG position.
Minnesota get a proven SG with all star potential, they get young defensive center with great determination who could ends up being upgrade over the mentally weak Darko, also thrown in a first round pick to give more flexibility.

Captain_CharismaParticipantI like the trade for Min they get a proven player that is till young and with upside who gives them a scoring punch. For OKC I wouldn’t trade a proven player with a lot of talent like Harden for any rookie in this draft (except Williams) much less Kanter, who has a lot of talent but is till a huge risk. If OKC made this trade, there would be a lot of pressure on Kanter to perform right away and not giving him any time to develop, and it could ruin OKC’s chances of getting a ring. They are close enough with their trio of Durant, Westbrook, and Harden. They just need to upgrade their bench and get a big man who can score 12-18 consitantly, maybe Jason Thompson? I like the thought, but too risky for OKC imo.

ChameleonKidParticipantLet me clarify something. If you post a draft on this site, than most likely, the only reason you would do it is because you want our opinion on it. So there you go. Most of us think logicly about what the TEAMS would do as opposed to what YOU would do(Your names CaptainCharisma, so I’m assuming you know wwe, so to use The Rock’s phrase: Is that how YOU would do the first 5 picks? Well, simply put………………….we wipe a monkey’s a$$ with how YOU would do it.)
0- Posted on: Mon, 06/13/2011 - 1:15pm #544426
Captain_CharismaParticipantI will always accept a joke that includes the rock, but I would also like to get people’s thoughts on what they would do if they were drafting, so I ask you what would you do in the draft?……….IT DOESN’T MATTER WHAT YOU WOULD DO!

ChameleonKidParticipantI will be very interested to see who you choose for my Pistons at #8

PulseGlazerParticipantSeriously, the Thunder aren’t trading Harden. Just get that out of your head right now.

SwatLakeCityParticipantCaptain Charisma, please explain to me how Knight is better then Irving. You might be the only one on the planet who would draft Knight before Irving, but whatever floats your boat I guess.
Seriously funny stuff though
