I feel like Kalin Lucas will automatically be player of the year just because he plays for Michigan State has been a solid (not unbelievably good) player for 3 years now

McCamey is going to be huge this year. And I still don’t understand why he isn’t a more highly regarded as a prospect…He’s big and plays the point extremely well (at 6-3/200 he’s built like former Illini Deron Williams), finished second in the nation in assists, he’s tough driving to the basket and hit 56 threes in 36 games. Sounds like someone that should be at least a top 20 pick to me.

Don’t be surprised when Illinois has an Elite 8/Final 4 year next season. That’s alllll I’m going to say. McCamey will lead Illinois as best team in the conference, and put up the same gaudy stats he had last year. Lucas will be the runner-up I’d say.

I swear to everyone I talk to that McCamey is alot like Deron Williams….McCamey is going to be a great NBA PG. He’s good. I’d take him in the lotto, call me crazy. 🙂

Iggy im going to give you a sleeper to be on the look out for. I saw this kid play and damn he about to make some noise in the big ten.

Keith Appling WILL make second team all big ten and will be co freshmen of the year with Jared Sullinger.

He is the reason why Chris Allen is wanting to leave because he knows he will not get minutes. Look for Appling to be the new Lucious and play the same role Lucas did right before Neitzel left. This kid will do it all for them. 3 point specialist, can almost to easily create his own shot.

i know this is a long shot but i would not be surprised if Appling got into 1st team and lucas dropped out to 2nd.

This is the fun part. That’s a bold prediction for everyone right there. lol.

He is a pretty nice scorer from either guard spot, but I don’t see him making an all-conference team besides the All-Freshman squad.

I think it’s unfair to put Roe as the biggest underachiever. He lost tons of explosiveness with that high school injury.

I think Myles Leonard will make a impact as well. I expect him to at least make 3rd team. He’s solid, his game is versatile and could defend inside well.

You think Leonard will play over Davis and Tisdale?

Roe was a top 10 recruit and since he’s played, post-injury or not, there is no bigger underachiever. Besides MAYBE a guy like Durrell Summers. And Summers hasn’t done bad enough to warrant that.

I think Leonard will be pushed into that lineup and given a solid amount of PT because he’s one of a kind in that conference. I wouldn’t be shocked if he got 15-18 min a game and even played with Davis and Tisdale at the same time.

The Fighting Illini will have tons of pieces to play with. They could even go with a monster tall lineup of McCamery-Richmond-Davis-Leonard-Tisdale and just punish teams inside.

Leonard, Davis and Tisdale at the same time would be soft though. They all have the ability to do it, but all 3 are weak defenders, and would much rather face-up than post since all 3 lack true back to basket ability.

From what I saw last year, Mccamey had the talent that rivaled Williams, but he didn’t have the mental. Mccamey was easily flustered last year and had games where he didn’t get his teammates involved ie: whole NIT, and @ purdue. I think Moore will be B10 POY. Also Leuer goes to Wisconsin and not Purdue.

Good catch. I switched out Johnson and Leuer and forgot to change their school.

Yeah, McCamey has to work on his attitude I agree. I can tell that him and Coach Weber are on different pages at times with the way they argue at times.

Hummel will definently be first team all b10. Probably over Sullinger.

Purdue, MSU and Illini all have final 4 potential.

The thing holding McCamey back is his attitude and work ethic. He has clashed with Weber tons of times and remember…. back in hs on St.Joes he was the star player NOT Evan Turner. Gotta hurt being passed up by your old teammate.

Two of my 5 first team all big ten are comming of injury (Hummel and Lucus) It will be interesting to see how they respond.

University of Illinois will win at least one championship in the next 4 years.

I like how u have draymond green winnin the 6th man award and goin third team. I think he may wind up starting sometime in the season because izzo seems to always have to take out roe or nix for doin somethin stupid and put in dede..not sure how long he’ll put up with roe or nixs senseless fouls before green starts

I think Rodney Williams is going to have a huge year! I think he will be a second team all Big Ten! I could see him having a 16 pts 7 rbs year!

Robbie Hummel plays for Purdue. Pretty good list I think John Diebler has a good chance to be on 3rd team.
