lakeshow22ParticipantCan someone explain why Jeff van Gundy and Chris Broussard cover the draft for espn when they know so little about college basketball and any of the draft prospects? Jay bilas is the only one on the set who knows what hes talking about. Why don’t they at least get chad ford or Fran fraschilla or other college basketball analysts to replace Gundy and Broussard? Just watching the nfl draft and listening to guys like Mel kipper and Todd Mcshay, they know everything you need to know about all the prospects with all there strength and weaknesses. The only thing gundy and Broussard say is “I agree with jay”.

tyhchsParticipantwho knows really i guess they like Van Gundy and Broussard because of their NBA experience and I’m sure they do their homework whenever they can. I’m taking a guess that since they have soo much experience with the NBA they should know what games would translate well I suppose. but I agree to be honest you should have Ford, Frachela, Gundy, Broussard, and Bilas doing it.

DolanCareParticipantI would prefer the simple group of Frachela, Ford, Bilas, Wilbon and Aran Smith.
Franchela- the old school conservative guy who is focused on fundamentals with some insight of Euroball
Ford & Bilas- the two know-it-alls who will fill the commentary with intelligent banter. Bilas will undermine Ford for not playing college basketball… Ford will undercut Bilas for not knowing highschool ball or scouts the way he does.
Wilbon- will do the coverage and mediating
Aran Smith- the newcomer who will drop truth on the unexpected panel. The .net will get 1000 new horrible posters within the hour.

lakeshow22ParticipantI think Aran smith would have to work for espn in order to do it

Lotto StudParticipantThey have Andy Katz but he only talks about trades or stashing foreigners. Andy knows more than Broussard but rarely speaks.

RUDEBOY_ParticipantI remember back in the day,the late Marty Blake who was the director of Scouting use to appear on alot of shows talking about the prospects…
But now ESPN seems to seek out advicefrom their contributors that are under contract..Like Jay Bilas,Jalen Rose,Broussard, Frascilla and Vitale…I would like to see them add guys like Donnie Nelson & Tony Barone Sr. ..They are 2 great basketball minds, that scout college, nba and overseas….

TripleDoubleScoutParticipantI cant even remember when chad ford was right about a prospect when everyone else was wrong. I just dont know why he is so great to espn. Franchilla is light years better.
