lakeshow22ParticipantShabazz Muhaamadd best 2 guard to enter the draft since who? i think hes the best 2 guard prospect since D-Wade which was 10 years ago which is really impressive.
He is going to be a top 3 pick regardless if he plays a single game at UCLA or not. and will most likely be the top pick.
Whats his NBA Potential and Upside?

benjo34Really sky is the limit for this kid. Worst Case-James Harden (even that case is good 🙂 ) Best Case: Kobe Bryant (if he develop moves like Kobe and he got some of them right now)

TallmanNYCParticipantIf you think his "worst case" is James Harden, then you have no idea how good James Harden is. Your basically saying his worst case is top 5 SG and his best case is top SG (I assume you mean young Kobe not last year’s Kobe). That isn’t really that big a difference. Harden cannot possibly be any players "worst case". Michael Jordan’s "worst case" coming out of UNC wasn’t James Harden.

Lebron’s HairlineParticipantThis guy still has a lot of work to do to his game, is jumper is still streaky and he still has a mediocre ability to dribble with his off hand. However his potential is sky high

For_Never_EverParticipantAthletically, I believe he is almost right up there with Koby and Wade, at that age. Offensively and build reminds of Vince Carter. He looks like a very good competitive defender unlike James Hardin. I’m thinking he could be the best SG since D-Wade.

jwostrumParticipantbest 2 guard since kobe bryant with out a dought. this kid has everything you want and now we get to see it all unfold. thank god, amen, shabazz is free to play.

For_Never_EverParticipantUmmm, has there been a great SG drafted since D-Wade and maybe James Hardin, that I don’t know about ?
0 - Posted on: Fri, 11/16/2012 - 5:34pm #728669
alex23Participanthe needs work with tightening his handle and making his j consistent but i have no doubt he will because of his killer instinct ,hes so determined to be great i cant imagine this guy failing… the only thing shabazz has thats similar to james harden is his build the way they score is somewhat different.
0 - Posted on: Fri, 11/16/2012 - 5:58pm #728676
For_Never_EverParticipantJames Hardin is a big wide and strong guy, look at his muscles.
Shabzz is lean like Koby and Vince were at that age.

dolla130Participantthis has to be the most head ive ever seen a player get in some time, this kid is highly overrated as athlete and player, and he isnt ther best sg since kobe or dwade, he better hope and pray hes as good as james harden who is being disrespected atleast he showed what he could do in college and in the pros, please let him play a college game first this is crazy "thank god amen shabazz is free to play" really tho?, hes not even the best wing in his frosh class

dolla130Participantlol why because im stating the obvious, he is a streaky shooter at best, below avg ball handler for his size and isnt a great athlete, just because one dunks a lot does not make him a great athlete, and just because he scored a lot in hs doesnt mean he has worlds of potential, austin rivers scored a lot doesnt mean he has worlds of potential, yeah he has a motor but that to me does not mean sky is the limit all he does is jack shots up and force his way to the basket, that works in hs and his hs class was one of weakest in the past 5 years, let him play in college first before you say hes the best sg since this and that becuase thats insane

For_Never_EverParticipantThis kinda sounds like your describing Kobe Byant before entering the NBA. I’m not saying he is going be Kobe, but does sound like it.
He isn’t an all time great athlete like Vince/Lebron, but he is at the very least is around an 8 or 9 which is pretty damn good.
How do you know he is a streaky shooter, or are you just saying that for your argument ?
Austin River doesn’t possess a 6’11 wingspan and the athleticism.
When your at a young age and the best player on the team, it is pretty much required for you to score. Derrick Rose and Kevin Durant were their teams leading scorer in HS, do you consider them selfish players ?

Beard13Participantbest two guard since Evan Turner

HitsterParticipantI want to see him perform for UCLA to try and gage where he stands against the other prospects, at this time in his career compared to other draft years, he seems to be the most hyped SG in the time that I’ve really been following the draft process ( 8 years). Whether he does turn out to be better than Harden or a pre-injury Brandon Roy only time will tell.

GoJOSH HUESTISParticipantHe’s more of a sf right now because of his shakes handle and range that is limited. Has a whole lot of potential though. The difference between him and wade, harden,Kobe is his handles. All of them had much better handle and even at the H.S level they could play some PG and they did play it. Bazz cannot play Pg with his handles being the most obvious reason. Right now he’s a lot like MKG except 3 inches
shorter, not as good defensively and a better jumper0 - Posted on: Sun, 11/18/2012 - 10:46am #728874
JoeWolf1I think Harden was the best prospect since Wade, and I guess I really haven’t seen enough of Shabazz to judge where he is right now. I’ll definately be watching tomorrow against G-Town because the hype on this kid is insane. Gotta see for myself.

OhCanada-ParticipantSince Brandon Roy.

Beard13ParticipantI don’t remember too much about Harden as a prospect; but i don’t even think he was the top shooting guard in his draft class
0- Posted on: Sun, 11/18/2012 - 3:36pm #728918
JoeWolf1In my opinion, he was. Turner went one pick before him as a SG/SF combo.
0- Posted on: Wed, 11/21/2012 - 10:26pm #729341
JoeJoParticipantI don’t think Turner and Harden were in the same draft. They were in the same high class and after their sophomore years, Harden went 3rd in the draft while Turner was thought as a mid-first rounder had he entered. Turner was almost the last man standing from his junior class as far as viable draft prospects go and I thought he benefited immensely from that.

kobyzParticipantafter his first performance i think should lower the hype around him
he is a wing with excellent scoring ability, fantastic shooter and great finisher but should work on becoming more of a complete player, too one-dimensional offensively and underwhelming defensively right now.
comparison: Eric Gordon(bigger)0 - Posted on: Wed, 11/21/2012 - 5:06am #729226
joecheck88ParticipantHe isn’t the best shooting guard prospect since anybody in my mind. I am not buying any of the hype. He just doesn’t do anything a special player does to be successful. He is not a great athlete, he isn’t a very good shooter and he isn’t a good ball handler. I don’t see where he can be successful. He can be a good player but I’m not buying that he is a franchise talent.

JoeWolf1I watched his first two games, and I see his upside, but I still need to wait to see him adjust to really form an opinion. Just after two games, I see a big guy, who at times looks like he can play SF, but also a guy who looks a little over weight and isn’t very well rounded. The way he operates in the post is similar to Carmelo, but he’s not very aggressive on the glass. He’s big, but not quick, but again, that might get better as he gets in better shape.
He doesn’t look like a guy who can come into the NBA and drop 20 right away, which is what his hype suggested, but it’s a long season. The verdict is still out, his lefty J is pretty nice, and I’m sure he’ll get in better shape as the season goes on. He looks like a lotto top 10 talent, but I’m not sold on him as the next great SG, yet.

Charlie SheenParticipantI dont like his game that much, he plays stiff very stiff, very high posture when he dribbles, limited moves and lift on his attack and jumper
Over rated in my eyes top 5 pick, yes, future of a franchise not so much
