llperezfigured i would start one so we could talk about all the action going on without having to create new ones for every game.
Omar Samhan is killing Richmond down low. He had to sit out a while in the first half with 3 fouls, but with 15 minutes remaining he already has like 25 points and is getting whatever he wants and showing great patience.
0 - Posted on: Thu, 03/18/2010 - 11:24am #267271
JNixonParticipantSamhan is a BIG body…He’s slow, but he knows how to use his frame. Richmond needs to make the comeback lol. I picked them in this one.
Kansas State is KILLING…Luis Colion is TERRIBLE. Pullen and Clemente are too much for North Texas’ guards. Also, too much size. Pullen got hurt about 5 mins back, fell on his tailbone…Hope the pain doesn’t last too long.
UTEP and Butler is underway.

llperezrichmond does not look good at all. Smahan has outrebounded their entire team. The spiders don’t do anything special and have zero interior play. The Gaels will be in trouble too. Their guards are not quick on either end of the court. They should get by Richmond today, but if they play a team with size and or quick gaurds that can attack samhan and get him in foul trouble, they will be in trouble.

llperezi wish i was watching utep vs butler. I guess they figure since saint marrys is a california team, they will show them here. Too bad because that utep game was one i was most looking forward to. I like butler in it.
0 - Posted on: Thu, 03/18/2010 - 11:29am #267274
JNixonParticipantSounds exactly like the next team they’ll play (Baylor)..
0 - Posted on: Thu, 03/18/2010 - 11:33am #267277
kaceyParticipantHow about them Racers? Wish I wasn’t at work, stuck watching ESPN scoreboard and refreshing the page every 5 minutes. I’m debating whether to wait the Richmond-St.Marys’ game out, or go ahead and drive home. Toughest decision I have been faced with all day.
0 - Posted on: Thu, 03/18/2010 - 11:34am #267278
llperezit’s 15 and growing for saint marys, you could probably go ahead and drive home. Yet another bad pick by me, at least i got KState correct.
0 - Posted on: Thu, 03/18/2010 - 11:35am #267279
JNixonParticipantYou should leave if your expecting a comeback LOL
0 - Posted on: Thu, 03/18/2010 - 11:43am #267281
llperezwhat do you guys think about the big east so far? Seton Hall got blwon out in the nit. UConn barely won by 2 in the NIT. Notre Dame lost today. Villanova needed a comeback to win by 3 in overtime vs robert morris. Is the best conference in america looking a little overrated, or is too early for that?
0 - Posted on: Thu, 03/18/2010 - 11:50am #267284
JNixonParticipantI always said the Big East was the deepest conference, which I think they are partly because they have like 20 teams in the conference. I think the Big 12 has the better teams though, at the top. The Big 12 is top-heavy, but the Big East has more good teams.
0 - Posted on: Thu, 03/18/2010 - 12:01pm #267288
LeroyJenkinsParticipantits late and off topic but did anybody see that ” Our Noah is better looking than their Noah” sign during the Florida – BYU game?
0 - Posted on: Thu, 03/18/2010 - 12:04pm #267289
JNixonParticipantYesssss!! lol..The guy they were talking about looked like he was like 40 years old
0 - Posted on: Thu, 03/18/2010 - 12:13pm #267290
BothTeamsPlayedHardParticipantIn what league would Gordon Hayward be the best draft prospect in the UTEP-Butler game? I’m not sure he starts at UTEP. This is the second straight tourney where he gets matched up against an athletic team and looks incredibly pedestrian.
0 - Posted on: Thu, 03/18/2010 - 12:19pm #267291
JNixonParticipantFinally, someone who doesn’t think Hayward is that good. Everyone should know by now that I think Gordon Hayward is a poor mans version of Adam Morrison. Yes, that bad.
0 - Posted on: Thu, 03/18/2010 - 12:35pm #267294
JNixonParticipantUTEP is playing very uninspired D right now against Butler, and are only up by 1 right now with less than 16 mins. They have a bunch of guys that feel like they can win by just showing up. They better step it up, they should be up by at least 7 or 8. They have advantages all over the court, they are just too selfish right now..
0 - Posted on: Thu, 03/18/2010 - 12:37pm #267296
R-Dot-13ParticipantIm not so high on Hayward either
and im glad someone noticed that too, UTEP has so much talent and advantages right now, but theres too much 1 on 1 going on and selfishness
0 - Posted on: Thu, 03/18/2010 - 12:53pm #267299
R-Dot-13ParticipantIm wondering what you guys think of Karon Abraham from Robert Morris.
Hes a freshman and had 23 points against Villanova.
He could shoot the ball and drive. He is way too small to have an NBA career, but Im wondering if anyone thinks he can develop into a really good college player who could lead Robert Morris to some more tournaments and higher seeds than 15.
Im just wondering your thoughts cause he impressed me
0 - Posted on: Thu, 03/18/2010 - 12:58pm #267300
JNixonParticipantDamn UTEP…They are still not defending or playing unselfish. Down by 17 with 8 mins left. Butler is raining 3’s now
0 - Posted on: Thu, 03/18/2010 - 12:59pm #267301
R-Dot-13ParticipantButler is on fire right now..
0 - Posted on: Thu, 03/18/2010 - 1:00pm #267302
knicksfan7ParticipantGreat, I should have picked Butler.
0 - Posted on: Thu, 03/18/2010 - 1:09pm #267306
JNixonParticipantI should have too…I should’ve known UTEP would get selfish. I never thought of them as a great defensive team either. What was I thinking lol.
I still think they will be SUPER good next year though..
0 - Posted on: Thu, 03/18/2010 - 1:14pm #267308
llperezfinally someone makes me look smart, thanks butler. I told tezo the other day that butler will out execute utep and shelvin mack will match culpeppers production. That almost makes up for puttin notre dame in the elite 8.
0 - Posted on: Thu, 03/18/2010 - 1:17pm #267310
knicksfan7Participantllperez22, nothing makes up for Notre Dame in the elite 8. CAA Represent.
0 - Posted on: Thu, 03/18/2010 - 1:18pm #267312
llperezwow, culpepper took a nasty fall. But bad foul call though, that was nothing but ball. Refs just reacted to the fall.
0 - Posted on: Thu, 03/18/2010 - 1:21pm #267313
JNixonParticipantYou had Notre Dame getting to the Elite 8?? Man…That bracket is messed up worse than mine would’ve been had Villanova lost lol.
Northern Iowa vs. UNLV is about to be underway…This is a game I had a fairly tough time deciding on, but I like Northern Iowa more.
0 - Posted on: Thu, 03/18/2010 - 1:21pm #267314
llperezknicksfan, don’t get me wrong. I was pulling for Old Dominion. Im all 4 the little guys. How about harangody only having 2 points until that last second meaningless tip in gave him 4. Fans call him out for the team being better without him then he stinks in the first round. Tough way to end what was an amazing college career. I honestly feel bad for him.
0 - Posted on: Thu, 03/18/2010 - 1:26pm #267315
llperezi made 3 last second changes to my bracket this morning. I switched to Northern Iowa over UNLV, GTech over OK St, and Temple over Cornell. Let’s make me look good NIU.
0 - Posted on: Thu, 03/18/2010 - 1:35pm #267316
JNixonParticipantYea I changed the UTEP game. I had them getting beat in the 2nd round against Murray St. Now I’m going to have an extra loss on my bracket. Damn.
Kentucky v. ETSU is on. John Wall is falling asleep ON THE BALL on defense, gave up 6 of Kentucky’s 10 pts.. Kentucky up by 2 with 15 mins in the 1st half, but I think they should spread. They’re up despite not playing all that great. Patterson is playing like a man amongst boys…Very strong out there. Cousions has made some nice passes.
UNLV up by 2 vs. Northern Iowa. Come on guys..
0 - Posted on: Thu, 03/18/2010 - 2:05pm #267325
BasketballGuru24Participantwhats up with georgetown, they struggling against ohio. These 2 upsets really messed up my bracket lol
0 - Posted on: Thu, 03/18/2010 - 2:07pm #267326
Mr.Knick 32ParticipantIf G-Town loses, alot of people will be bracket ripping.
I hope UNLV wins. I need a monster Friday. I had UTEP in the sweet sixteen and Vandy in round 2. Fail.
0 - Posted on: Thu, 03/18/2010 - 2:08pm #267327
llperezall right washington. the pac 10 is riding on you.
0 - Posted on: Thu, 03/18/2010 - 2:08pm #267328
Mr.Knick 32Participant#0 for Ohio….he’s can shoot.
0 - Posted on: Thu, 03/18/2010 - 2:09pm #267329
R-Dot-13ParticipantBassett is pure wet
0 - Posted on: Thu, 03/18/2010 - 2:10pm #267331
R-Dot-13ParticipantI’ll tell you this. Ohio look GOOD right now
0 - Posted on: Thu, 03/18/2010 - 2:14pm #267333
Mr.Knick 32ParticipantGreg Monroe is disappointing me
He seems not only soft but passive. He must get it together for the 2nd half
0 - Posted on: Thu, 03/18/2010 - 2:14pm #267334
BasketballGuru24ParticipantThese upsets are killing my bracket lol i already have 2 wrong predictions
0 - Posted on: Thu, 03/18/2010 - 2:15pm #267335
R-Dot-13ParticipantArmon Bassett can ball, he can shoot drive AND pass.
Hes a player im keeping my eye on0 - Posted on: Thu, 03/18/2010 - 2:16pm #267338
Mr.Knick 32ParticipantDidn’t he transfer to Ohio? I heard that name before.
0 - Posted on: Thu, 03/18/2010 - 2:17pm #267339
Mr.Knick 32ParticipantYup! He’s a former Indiana guy
0 - Posted on: Thu, 03/18/2010 - 2:18pm #267341
JNixonParticipantReally G’Town? Really? Armon Bassett is shooting well. I liked his stroke when he was at Indiana. But I don’t need G’Town losing right now…I had them going kinda far.
Kentucky is stretching like everyone knew they would.
Northern Iowa is losing, and they let UNLV dictate more than they would’ve liked. If they keep it half-court, they should win. UNLV has some holes in it’s half-court D and they aren’t that efficient.
Washington up on Marquette…I’ll watch that one.
0 - Posted on: Thu, 03/18/2010 - 2:22pm #267343
R-Dot-13ParticipantI’ll have my bracket destroyed for these upsets anyday
0 - Posted on: Thu, 03/18/2010 - 2:27pm #267344
llperezthat’s what im talking about r-dot. I have Gtown in my elite 8 as well, but im pulling for ohio big time.
0 - Posted on: Thu, 03/18/2010 - 2:29pm #267345
R-Dot-13ParticipantExactly, i love the upset, personally it makes it more fun for me.
0 - Posted on: Thu, 03/18/2010 - 2:31pm #267346
JNixonParticipantIsaiah Thomas looks like a 10 year old kid lol. Marquette up by 1. Very fast-paced and entertaining game. Both of these teams are nearly identical in their matchups/personnel.
0 - Posted on: Thu, 03/18/2010 - 2:33pm #267347
R-Dot-13Participantyeah its an entertaining game, both teams are on fire from downtown..
0 - Posted on: Thu, 03/18/2010 - 2:33pm #267348
llperezyeah, they both shoot lights out. I think marquette shoots better though, so washington might want to defend a little and work the post.
0 - Posted on: Thu, 03/18/2010 - 2:47pm #267353
R-Dot-13Participantwho saw that alley oop? ohios just havin fun now!
0 - Posted on: Thu, 03/18/2010 - 2:50pm #267355
llperezare my eyes decieving me, or did the huskies just post isaiah thomas up and let him back his man down
0 - Posted on: Thu, 03/18/2010 - 2:51pm #267357
JNixonParticipantYea that was nice…But G’Town is showing signs of life out of the break. I think they’ll make it interesting.
0 - Posted on: Thu, 03/18/2010 - 2:58pm #267361
BasketballGuru24ParticipantIsiah thomas has caught my eye from last year. This guy is amazing, who saw that full court shot that he cashed but didn’t count lol
0 - Posted on: Thu, 03/18/2010 - 3:04pm #267362
llperezyeah isaiah nailed it from the opposite 3 point line. He’s having a good game, but the huskies just aren’t getting stops. Down 1 at halftime.
0 - Posted on: Thu, 03/18/2010 - 3:06pm #267363
JNixonParticipantYea Thomas is a big scoring talent…But he has bad shot selection. He’s very crafty scoring the ball but he lanks range on his shot and needs to be open to get it off. He can be a late 1st or more likely and early 2nd round pick though if he works on those things.
UNLV v. Northern Iowa game very exciting. Never thought I’d say that.
G’Town is getting ready to ruin alot of peoples brackets…I’m starting to give up on them.
0 - Posted on: Thu, 03/18/2010 - 3:39pm #267367
OldSkoolBasketballParticipantworse first round ever for me.
0 - Posted on: Thu, 03/18/2010 - 3:39pm #267368
Mr.Knick 32ParticipantRipping up my bracket….Rip, Rip, Rip.
UNLV….all you had to do was to not allow the hot shooter to score. They did just that.
G-Town sucks.
0 - Posted on: Thu, 03/18/2010 - 3:42pm #267369
gatorheelsParticipantTerrible defense by Georgetown. Ohio is not that good. This was a fluke. Once again let me say this PITIFUL defense by Georgetown.
0 - Posted on: Thu, 03/18/2010 - 3:42pm #267370
JNixonParticipantNorthern Iowa beats UNLV. Great game with alot of tough D and big-time shots.
Washington is losing to Marquette by 8…Washington plagued by lack of D and bad shots.
G’Town. Oh, G’Town
0 - Posted on: Thu, 03/18/2010 - 3:44pm #267373
- Posted on: Thu, 03/18/2010 - 3:48pm #267374
R-Dot-13ParticipantI wasnt big on GTown either, i think in one of my brackets i picked Ohio to win, but probably not, i just hope i did
0 - Posted on: Thu, 03/18/2010 - 3:50pm #267378
Mr.Knick 32ParticipantI’m 100% in only one of my brackets. It was my 2nd guess bracket.
0 - Posted on: Thu, 03/18/2010 - 3:50pm #267379
gatorheelsParticipantHayward is balling for Marquette
0 - Posted on: Thu, 03/18/2010 - 3:52pm #267380
JNixonParticipantI didn’t research or watch Ohio this year, so that was my bad. I thought G’Town had them under control. That messed up my Midwest region kinda bad. I had G’Town in the Elite 8.
0 - Posted on: Thu, 03/18/2010 - 3:52pm #267381
llperezwashington marquette is sick right now. Marqette is raining threes and washington is getting to the basket.
0 - Posted on: Thu, 03/18/2010 - 3:53pm #267382
JNixonParticipantMarquette needs to win this…I’ve had enough of losing for 1 day.
0 - Posted on: Thu, 03/18/2010 - 3:53pm #267383
OrangeJuiceJonesParticipantI hope Marquette can hold on and win.
0 - Posted on: Thu, 03/18/2010 - 4:08pm #267389
OrangeJuiceJonesParticipantHas Marquette ever heard of help D?
0 - Posted on: Thu, 03/18/2010 - 4:09pm #267390
llperezplease no 3’s
0 - Posted on: Thu, 03/18/2010 - 4:10pm #267391
R-Dot-13ParticipantQUINCYYYYYYYYYYYYYY
0 - Posted on: Thu, 03/18/2010 - 4:11pm #267392
llperezdo you guys think venoy overton can play himself into a draft spot next year?
0 - Posted on: Thu, 03/18/2010 - 4:15pm #267394
llperezoh yeah. All right cal, your turn tomorrow to take down one of those fake big east teams.
0 - Posted on: Thu, 03/18/2010 - 4:17pm #267396
OldSkoolBasketballParticipantbig east is having a disappointing day.
0 - Posted on: Thu, 03/18/2010 - 4:20pm #267397
JNixonParticipantDamn Marquette!! That was horrible D. I would’ve helped, even though it was straight man. I don’t think Pondexter thought about passing the ball, so helpside would’ve been smart. Another loss for me today.
Venoy Overton won’t get drafted. He’s not talented enough offensively, and he has no PG skills despite being 5’10.” He’s strictly a full-court pressure defender.
0 - Posted on: Thu, 03/18/2010 - 4:23pm #267398
llperezi said it earlier. I had not watched much big east this year until the big east tournament, and then i watched most those games, but i was not that impressed. I still think it might have been the best conference, but not amazing by any means. I see “experts” on the internet talking about how Utah State wouldn’t stand a chance in the big east and seton hall going 9-9 in the toughest conference is an automatic bid. But so far, big east has looked pretty normal.
0 - Posted on: Thu, 03/18/2010 - 4:24pm #267399
OrangeJuiceJonesParticipantThis really sucks. My best bracket had Georgetown winning one game, but I got all the other picks right.
0 - Posted on: Thu, 03/18/2010 - 4:25pm #267400
JNixonParticipantI knew I should’ve picked Wake….Why is Texas so horrible all of a sudden with all that talent??
0 - Posted on: Thu, 03/18/2010 - 4:26pm #267401
llperezvenoy was breaking guys down left and right in full court situations. His ball handling is better then anyone else on the washington roster. I dont know if he will get drafted, but he is defenitely more then just a defender with that ball handling and speed.
0 - Posted on: Thu, 03/18/2010 - 4:28pm #267402
JNixonParticipantThere are plenty of guys that can handle the ball and are as quick as he is. He’s only above average as a full-court defender. At best he’d be like Anthony Carter. And that would be asking for alot, since Carter actually can play PG.
0 - Posted on: Thu, 03/18/2010 - 4:32pm #267407
llperezabove average as a full court defender? dude was putting pressure on the ball the whole game. The announcer said he was the best defender he had seen all season and the other anouncer agreed.
0 - Posted on: Thu, 03/18/2010 - 4:33pm #267403
OrangeJuiceJonesParticipantIt’s still early, Iggy, but I feel your pain. Texas losing would only knock me down even further. I picked Wake in 2 of my brackets, but they happen to be my 2 worst brackets. No idea what’s wrong with Texas; they have a senior leader in Damion James, a freshman phenom in Avery Bradley, two quality big men in Gary Johnson and Dexter Pittman, two solid contributors in Jordan Hamilton and J’Covan Brown, but they just can’t put the pieces together. Is a point guard THAT important?
On a side note, how cool would it be to keep this thread active during the entire tournament?
0 - Posted on: Thu, 03/18/2010 - 4:34pm #267408
JNixonParticipantIt would be “Guiness World record” cool….I say lets do it.
0 - Posted on: Thu, 03/18/2010 - 4:36pm #267409
JNixonParticipantIt would be “Guiness World record” cool….I say lets do it.
0 - Posted on: Thu, 03/18/2010 - 4:44pm #267410
R-Dot-13Participantin other news.. lehigh got off to a 12-4 start and is now going to get blown out.
now who saw that coming??0 - Posted on: Thu, 03/18/2010 - 4:45pm #267411
ckelley015Participantas upside prospects, who do you guys like more, aminu or favors?
0 - Posted on: Thu, 03/18/2010 - 4:48pm #267412
JNixonParticipantUpside Aminu, but James is more polished…I think James is a very underrated prospect who could be an elite 3rd or 4th option offensively. He also is a very good rebounder. Aminu has more versatility though, that’s why he has more upside.
0 - Posted on: Thu, 03/18/2010 - 5:02pm #267418
OrangeJuiceJonesParticipantTexas came back strong. Hopefully, San Diego State can do the same (I should have paid more attention when filling out the bracket where I have S.D.S winning).
0 - Posted on: Thu, 03/18/2010 - 5:03pm #267420
knicksfan7ParticipantKnicksboy, who the hell makes a 2nd guess bracket???? That is the most gutless thing ever.
0 - Posted on: Thu, 03/18/2010 - 5:05pm #267421
llperezlet’s go montana.
0 - Posted on: Thu, 03/18/2010 - 5:06pm #267422
knicksfan7ParticipantNah New Mexico, I need to see as much Hobson as possible.
0 - Posted on: Thu, 03/18/2010 - 5:17pm #267424
OrangeJuiceJonesParticipantHobson is down…….
0 - Posted on: Thu, 03/18/2010 - 5:18pm #267425
R-Dot-13Participantoh no..
0 - Posted on: Thu, 03/18/2010 - 5:19pm #267426
OrangeJuiceJonesParticipantHe got back up, but he was in some serious pain; I could hear him grimacing.
0 - Posted on: Thu, 03/18/2010 - 5:26pm #267427
JNixonParticipantThat could ruin the run the were trying to make this tourny if he’s out…They need to win this one though for the sake of my bracket.
I only have them going to the 2nd round..then getting knocked out
San Diego St needs to keep on playing well, as they have to start the half.
Texas playing uninspired again.
0 - Posted on: Thu, 03/18/2010 - 5:49pm #267434
OrangeJuiceJonesParticipantNew Mexico needs to pressure Montana’s guards so that they can prevent them from passing the ball to Uncle Fester; he’s killing them down low.
0 - Posted on: Thu, 03/18/2010 - 5:59pm #267435
OrangeJuiceJonesParticipantEDIT: Double post
0 - Posted on: Thu, 03/18/2010 - 6:25pm #267451
OrangeJuiceJonesParticipantMontana’s coming back
Texas just hit two 3’s and is up by 6 in overtime; Damion James is on the line
0 - Posted on: Thu, 03/18/2010 - 6:33pm #267455
JNixonParticipantJ’Covan Brown is finally showing why he shoots so much. I just thought he was selfish, his shot isn’t broke after all. He’s stepped up. Texas has to hold on though.
As I typed that he misses 2 free throws…
Ish Smith is playing too out of control and they won’t give the ball to Aminu for some reason
0 - Posted on: Thu, 03/18/2010 - 6:36pm #267457
OrangeJuiceJonesParticipantAri Stewart with a clutch three for Wake. I picked Texas to win, but that was a big-time shot by the freshman.
0 - Posted on: Thu, 03/18/2010 - 6:38pm #267461
OrangeJuiceJonesParticipantIsh Smith with a buzzer beater. Second time today that a time I picked to win lost on a buzzer beater.
0 - Posted on: Thu, 03/18/2010 - 6:42pm #267462
JNixonParticipantI would be mad at this, but Ish Smith is someone I know personally. That big shot couldn’t have fallen for a better guy. Texas shouldn’t have let the lead slip though. J’Covan Brown shouldn’t have passed when he was in that trap to Gary Johnson. I knew Johnson would miss both FT’s. He looked scared from the time he got fouled.
0 - Posted on: Thu, 03/18/2010 - 6:47pm #267463
OrangeJuiceJonesParticipantIt was smart by Wake not to foul Brown, but what the hell was Johnson doing in the backcourt? Once Brown got trapped, one of two things should have happened:
A) Call time-out (if they had one)
B) Get a better shooter in the backcourt
0 - Posted on: Thu, 03/18/2010 - 6:51pm #267468
JNixonParticipantYea, I thought James was going to be back there as the security blanket. Bad coaching once again and a bad pass by Brown that cost them the game….I didn’t need that loss though. San Diego St. hurt me too
0 - Posted on: Thu, 03/18/2010 - 6:58pm #267471
OrangeJuiceJonesParticipantDairese Gray has been clutch at the line. He missed a couple, but he made enough for New Mexico to win.
0 - Posted on: Thu, 03/18/2010 - 6:59pm #267472
llperezvaliant effort from Montana. New Mexico vs Washington on saturday will be fun.

IndianaBasketballParticipant“Gordon Hayward is a poor man’s version of Adam Morrison.Yes, it’s that bad.”
You’ve seen him play what… Three games lol? I’ve watched him in person majority of the season and he and Morrison aren’t even similar players. Other than being white, 6′ 9″ and shooting… You can’t compare the two players at all. Gordon is a much better ball handler, has better body control, better rebounding… Better playmaking. And at 19 years old. Kid still has room to grow. He didn’t play well today. You don’t have to be high on him, but throwing out whack comparisons is kind of lame… Especially when you haven’t seen him enough.
Shout out to Butler though… Beating the more “athletic” team. And shout out to my boy Armon lol. We go back to open gyms at Indiana State and the Height Center in Terre Haute lol.

knicksfan7ParticipantTEZOOOOOOO laying down the law on Butler Basketball. No one questions what Tezo has to say about Butler basketball.
0 - Posted on: Thu, 03/18/2010 - 8:23pm #267490
IndianaBasketballParticipantLol… He and Morrison aren’t even similar. Hayward is actually one inch taller and way longer… The only other comparisons are that they’re boy white guys who can shoot, Morrison being the better shooter. I mean, I can understand not being high on him, but that’s a comparison that just doesn’t even make sense. Their games aren’t similar at all. Hayward is much more versatile… He’s only 19, and is still growing into his game and his body.
And Llperez22 you called that Butler game perfectly! You said Mack would get hot and he did lol.
0 - Posted on: Fri, 03/19/2010 - 3:59am #267528
JNixonParticipantHayward never plays good against guys that have quality athletes or good length. He’s really not that good. Nothing about him is great at all, outside of him being like 6’8″ and playing SF. And even that’s not great. Put him against UW-Green Bay and he looks like the shiit that can’t be flushed, but against a team that has length, athleticism, or a mix of both and he has a bad game. I saw it today against UTEP, against G’town and Minnesota earlier in the season.
He averages 2 assists a game. And 2 TO’s. I haven’t seen ANY of this playmaking you speak of watching him play either. His playmaking skills on the EXACT same as Morrisons, who averaged the same 2 assists and 2 TO’s when he declared. Morrison’s passing stats where even better at the same stage of development.
He never even shoots that good either. He’s not even shooting 30% from 3 point range in the Horizon League. That’s troubling for someone that’s going to have to be a spot-up shooter in the NBA, where the range is at least 3 feet deeper. In comparison, Morrison is a much more lethal shooter.
His ball-handling is not that great, it’s about average for an NBA player at best. The same can be said for Morrison.
Morrison probably wasn’t the best comparison, but a poor mans Mike Dunleavy Jr is. A poor man’s Mike Dunleavy Jr is when he played for Golden State. Back when he was a below average player. That’s exactly how I see Hayward if he makes it to the NBA.

R-Dot-13ParticipantTo get of this topic..
since there were a lot of upsets yesterday, which double digit seeds do you see winning today?
of course anyone can.. just like ohio did yesterday and robert morris almost did..but i see cornell, siena, utah st and new mexico st pulling off upsets. and also dont count out hte nations leading scorer in aubrey coleman from houston
0 - Posted on: Fri, 03/19/2010 - 5:49am #267565
JNixonParticipantI have 2 “upsets” today. I picked Mizzou, a 10th seed, over 7th seed Clemson. I also picked GA Tech, a 10th seed, over 7th seed OK State.
I had Cornell over Temple, but I changed my mind.
0 - Posted on: Fri, 03/19/2010 - 5:54am #267567
OrangeJuiceJonesParticipantThere is no getting off this topic. This is THE topic! This is it, Jabronski!
I picked Cornell over Temple, but I’m beginning to regret that decision. I also picked Missouri over Clemson. I think it’s gonna take a BIG day out of Trevor Booker for Clemson to escape with a win.
0 - Posted on: Fri, 03/19/2010 - 5:56am #267568
R-Dot-13Participanti meant the hayward topic if anyone was confused haha
0 - Posted on: Fri, 03/19/2010 - 5:57am #267569
JNixonParticipantClemson could win, but Andre Young and Demontez Stitt have to handle the ball better than they have all season..Young is a solid shooter, but Mizzou has the quickness in the backcourt to crowd them and make them drive the lane, where the length of Mizzou’s frontline could pose a problem for both of them.
And yes, if you want to talk tourny basketball, this is THE topic! lol
0 - Posted on: Fri, 03/19/2010 - 6:00am #267571
R-Dot-13Participantits the madness.. ANYONE can win!
0 - Posted on: Fri, 03/19/2010 - 6:30am #267579
kaceyParticipantI think I picked Utah State in quite a few of my brackets. Other than that, there were no upsets I went with consistenly from bracket to bracket.
I wish I had access to our yahoo tournament league, my work blocks way too much stuff.
0 - Posted on: Fri, 03/19/2010 - 6:30am #267578
JNixonParticipantMorgan State v. West Vriginia underway…
Morgan State up 10-0, 15 mins left. Another Big East team not looking too good right now
0 - Posted on: Fri, 03/19/2010 - 6:59am #267585
IndianaBasketballParticipant“Hayward never plays good against guys that have quality athletes or good length.”
– 13 points and 10 rebounds vs Minnesota
– 11 points and 8 rebounds vs UCLA
– 18 points and 12 rebounds vs Clemson
– 24 points and 8 rebounds vs Georgetown
– 24 points and 8 rebounds vs Ohio State
– 22 points and 14 rebounds vs Xavier
– 12 points and 15 rebounds vs UAB
– 15 points and 12 rebounds vs SiennaI won’t say he played great in all of those games, but he clearly held his own… In the three biggest games of the season (Georgetown, Ohio State and Xavier), he averaged 23.3 points and 10 rebounds… Butler winning two out of the three games. Now… What are you talking about?
And just like I said above… You’ve seen him three games lol. I’ve watched him for two seasons. “He never shoots that good.” He may be shooting 30% from 3-point this season, but he shot 45% from that range last season. The kid can shoot… But you wouldn’t know that if you’ve only seen him in three games and are going by just percentages. You say you want to be a pro scout… You can’t even scout at the YMCA if you judge somebody off of three games.
And as I said… He and Morrison aren’t even similar players. Morrison was strictly a scorer. He was never the rebounder at any point of his college career that Hayward is. Neither are great defenders, but Morrison wasn’t even a good defender. Hayward at least competes at that end and shows decent fundamentals. And assist numbers don’t always indicate how well a player can see the floor and get the ball to his teammates.
I just don’t think you’re right on this one, but you’re entitled to your opinion lol.
0 - Posted on: Fri, 03/19/2010 - 7:07am #267589
JNixonParticipantXavier up by 1 on Minnesota.
Cornell giving it to Temple right now. Up 11. Another game I shouldn’t have switched. Man.
WVU has woken up from a slow start to take a 7 point lead over Morgan State with 2 mins left.
0 - Posted on: Fri, 03/19/2010 - 7:50am #267593
JNixonParticipantJordan Crawford is not that good a prospect….He’s a prototypical college volume shooter. He’s not very quick, athletic, or a great shooter/ball-handler for even high-major college basketball. Nothing more than an above average college player. He did just make an impressive layup though.
0 - Posted on: Fri, 03/19/2010 - 8:02am #267596
JNixonParticipantAlso, Tezo. Hayward shot:
38% from the field against Minnesota
Went 3-14 against UCLA
7-19 against Georgetown
4-12 against UABThe only games where he was efficient from the field were against Clemson (6-13), Ohio State (9-16), and Siena (6-13).
0 - Posted on: Fri, 03/19/2010 - 8:10am #267597
kaceyParticipantI’m pretty sure I picked Temple in every bracket I filled out.
Hey JNixon-Iggy, are you in the Yahoo tournament challenge I put together? I was wondering if you could tell me what the standings look like, or if you could paste the link directly to the standings for that league? My work blocks everything fantasy related, so I’m trying to find others ways to get to it. If I could view my bracket for that group, that would be cool. I guess you could screen shot it and email it my way.
Do you know how to do print screens on a computer? I know I’m asking for alot, so feel free to decline.
0 - Posted on: Fri, 03/19/2010 - 8:17am #267598
JNixonParticipantHere’s the Link to the standings…: http://tournament.fantasysports.yahoo.com/t1/group/80932/standings
Also, Jordan Crawford must’ve just saw what I typed about him lol. He’s stepped up big making a few big-time shots. His teammate, Kenny Frease is pretty TERRIBLE though. Maybe even worse than Luis Colon LOL
0 - Posted on: Fri, 03/19/2010 - 8:36am #267609
kaceyParticipantThanks anyways.
Does anyone know how to do print screens? Hit the print screen button on the keyboard? Then paste into an email and send it my way?
0 - Posted on: Fri, 03/19/2010 - 8:43am #267610
JNixonParticipantWhat’s your email address?
0 - Posted on: Fri, 03/19/2010 - 8:46am #267611
kaceyParticipantyou da man
0 - Posted on: Fri, 03/19/2010 - 9:06am #267613
kaceyParticipantI thought you were going to send a screenshot. The link is forever blocked on this computer at work. There is no way around it.
The only way I could view it, is if someone does a Print Screen (button on keyboard) and copies it over to an email and send it my way. Or if that doesn’t work, copy the image over to Excel and then attach the file to an email sent my way.
I appreciate your help though man. Thanks alot
0 - Posted on: Fri, 03/19/2010 - 9:11am #267618
JNixonParticipantOh ok, my bad man. I knew it had to be more complicated than that lol
Mizzou v. Clemson is underway. Kim English playing pretty well, made a 3 just now and is defending well. As is the whole team in the full-court press. They’ve forced 2 TO’s so far that have led to baskets. Young and Stitt are shaky ball-handlers for high-major PG’s.
Purdue vs. Siena. Highly contested game so far. I picked Purdue to win. Not sold on Siena. They’re good, but shaky at the same time.
0 - Posted on: Fri, 03/19/2010 - 9:46am #267625
YurpleHazEParticipantTheres a guy on Oakland who looks exactly like mike miller lolll
0 - Posted on: Fri, 03/19/2010 - 9:49am #267626
JNixonParticipantI wish I could get that game…I may watch it through cbsports.com if they don’t change to it during this halftime break.
0 - Posted on: Fri, 03/19/2010 - 10:06am #267631
llperezdamn, i knew i shouldn’t have switched the cornell pick at the last minute. Moutain west and atlantic 10 both gots lot of love this year getting 7 combined teams in but they went 3-4 in the first round with all 3 of the winners struggling against lower seeded teams. Were they overrated a little as conferences?
0 - Posted on: Fri, 03/19/2010 - 10:16am #267636
JNixonParticipantThat is exactly how I felt…I changed mine to Temple as well….Silly mistake.
Mizzou v. Clemson is a SUPER entertaining game
Pitt v. Oakland and Purdue v. Siena are both hard, gritty games. WOuldn’t surprise me if guys got technical fouls in those games. Especially in the Pitt game…Bodies flying all over the place.
0 - Posted on: Fri, 03/19/2010 - 10:36am #267646
R-Dot-13ParticipantHUGE comback by siena
0 - Posted on: Fri, 03/19/2010 - 10:40am #267648
JNixonParticipantMizzou is getting the Clemson backcourt into trouble. Just like I called it. Kim English is hoopin…Andre Young for Clemson is shooting very well for Clemson. There are athletes all over the floor for both teams. Mizzou up by 7 right now.
Purdue up 5 vs. Siena with 36 seconds left. Purdue needs to hold on for my bracket’s sake. Gritty game. It’s going to come down to foul shots.
Wisconsin is struggling with a tough Wofford squad. Wofford up 1
Pitt is stretching on Oakland. Oakland has one of the more physically gifted teams that I’ve seen from a low-major school. Pitt up 17
0 - Posted on: Fri, 03/19/2010 - 11:02am #267661
JNixonParticipantWisconsin needs to give the ball to Trevon Hughes….He’s the QB of that team and he makes tough shots.
0 - Posted on: Fri, 03/19/2010 - 11:05am #267664
llperezwofford looking like they might continue the magic from yesterday.
0 - Posted on: Fri, 03/19/2010 - 11:09am #267667
JNixonParticipantI guarantee Wisconsin wins from down the stretch, because of Trevon Hughes. Just watch. He’s a big time clutch player.
0 - Posted on: Fri, 03/19/2010 - 11:14am #267670
llperezwofford has no one to blame but themsleves. during the last 3 minutes, i saw 3 completely unforced turnovers and they gave up an offensive rebound that led to tom leur hitting the go ahead basket with 17 seconds left.
0 - Posted on: Fri, 03/19/2010 - 11:16am #267673
JNixonParticipantThey play were he got it stolen from him and let Hughes take the ball for a layup is where it all started. They made some unforced errors to close the game out…
0 - Posted on: Fri, 03/19/2010 - 11:19am #267675
llperezyeah, before that play even they were coming down and the ball handler paniced and threw it out of bounds. I think the announcers just said that wofford didn’t score a fg over the last 4 minutes.
0 - Posted on: Fri, 03/19/2010 - 11:24am #267678
R-Dot-13ParticipantThey also missed way too many freethrows…
0 - Posted on: Fri, 03/19/2010 - 11:25am #267681
JNixonParticipantI’d glad Wisconsin pulled that one out…They are a sleeper team in my bracket.
Texas A&M up 7 on Utah St. Donald Sloan is an underrated talent for Texas A&M. He’s a “winner” who isn’t flashy, but gets the job done.
As a K-State fan, I’m a little scared of playing Pitt in the Sweet 16. We may have trouble with them, especially as much as we like to foul people.
0 - Posted on: Fri, 03/19/2010 - 11:26am #267679
kaceyParticipant15 more minutes then I get to leave this workplace. Should be able to catch the 2nd half of the aggies game. Who do you all have picked for this game?
0 - Posted on: Fri, 03/19/2010 - 11:27am #267683
JNixonParticipantI picked TAMU…I like Sloan ALOT. Great college player. You should catch that game
0 - Posted on: Fri, 03/19/2010 - 11:31am #267688
kaceyParticipantMight not be much of a game by time I get home. haha
0 - Posted on: Fri, 03/19/2010 - 11:32am #267689
R-Dot-13Participanti picked the aggies.
0 - Posted on: Fri, 03/19/2010 - 11:43am #267697
llperezim pulling for the ucsb gauchos over ohio state. I doubt it will be close, but that school is like a half hour from me and i have friends there. So lets get them Gauchos!
0 - Posted on: Fri, 03/19/2010 - 11:44am #267698
IndianaBasketballParticipantUtah St. is overmatched. Texas A&M should win easily here… I have them beating Purdue in the next round, but losing to Duke in the Sweet 16. I expect them to play Duke really tough though.
And JNixon-Iggy9… Hayward is 19 years old. He’s still growing into his body and his game. He’s only scratching the surface and is going to get better, especially considering the amount of improvement he’s shown in less than three years. I’m not in the minority… Read his profile on various websites and mocks. They tend to agree with me. He’ll be a first round pick if he comes out next season. Watch.
0 - Posted on: Fri, 03/19/2010 - 11:49am #267702
JNixonParticipantHe can be a 1st round pick. But what matters is what happens AFTER he’s a 1st round pick.
0 - Posted on: Fri, 03/19/2010 - 11:53am #267706
IndianaBasketballParticipantI played against Kyle Korver in the MVC and I think Hayward is better. He’s not the cocky/arrogant shooter that Korver is, but his shooting mechanics are just as flawless. If Korver can find a role in the NBA, I think Hayward can too… And will. Just watch.
What do you think about JuJuan Johnson’s pro potential?
0 - Posted on: Fri, 03/19/2010 - 11:54am #267709
R-Dot-13ParticipantI think hes a solid role player in the NBA.. not a starter, or a bench warmer, but he can be a shooter/energy guy off the bench. Im not really high on him, but he is better than Morrison though lol
0 - Posted on: Fri, 03/19/2010 - 12:00pm #267711
JNixonParticipantJohnson is pretty good as a collegiate. I don’t like his frame of course and the fact that he’s not all that talented is a problem too for his NBA future. He’s also not a good rebounder or defender man-to-man down low. He has a worse frame than Kevin Durant. He’s going to have to get a game facing the basket to be an NBA player. He’s too weak and narrow to play back-to-basket like he does at Purdue. He’s improved alot since he was a freshman though.
0 - Posted on: Fri, 03/19/2010 - 12:16pm #267715
IndianaBasketballParticipantLol he does have one ugly frame. They list him at 215 lbs now… I doubt that. In high school, he was 190-195 as a senior. I doubt he’s gained 20-25 lbs.
I think he’ll be an early 2nd round pick after next season.
0 - Posted on: Fri, 03/19/2010 - 12:25pm #267716
JNixonParticipantYea I think he’s 2nd round worthy. Some team will take a chance on him if he just has a good season next year. He’s got too much athleticism and he could have some mismatch value..
0 - Posted on: Fri, 03/19/2010 - 12:32pm #267718
knicksfan7ParticipantJaJuan Johnson has a very good game, but he needs to put on weight and how. He has the body of an NBA Small-Forward, but would have to play the 4 in the NBA. Now if he developed a respectable outside game (unlikely) then he would be a good 3, but if he doesn’t gain weight he isn’t going to be a great pro.
0 - Posted on: Fri, 03/19/2010 - 12:39pm #267721
R-Dot-13ParticipantIf he can develop some more face up game he can be a 1st rounder with a good season next year, hes got good length and athleticism, but is far to skinny right now
0 - Posted on: Fri, 03/19/2010 - 12:46pm #267724
JNixonParticipantI don’t think he’s ever going to get to be more than 210 lbs. Like Tezo said, he’s really about 195. He doesn’t have the frame to put on much much weight, well at least enough weight to allow him to play in his comfort zone, which is with his back to the basket. He’s going to have to get more polished and consistent with his mid-range shot. He does have mismatch potential though if he gets that part of his game more consistent. He’s going to have to make it in the NBA as an offensive role player though.
0 - Posted on: Fri, 03/19/2010 - 1:24pm #267734
JNixonParticipantFSU v. Gonzaga underway. FSU already giving Gonzaga problems with their length on d. Now, it would be nice if Florida State had anyone who could create offense for their self.
GA Tech v. OK State underway. I picked GA Tech. I think Shumpert will thoroughly outplay Keiton Page in the matchup. That’s the key matchup. When Shumpert plays well, Tech wins. Also, look for Bell and Rice Jr. to do a good job of getting Anderson out of his comfort zone. Both are good defenders.
0 - Posted on: Fri, 03/19/2010 - 1:35pm #267739
OrangeJuiceJonesParticipantCornell came up big for me; I’m perfect so far today. Hopefully, Oklahoma State and Gonzaga can win. If only I picked Georgetown to win in my ESPN bracket; I’d be tied for 1st right now :/
0 - Posted on: Fri, 03/19/2010 - 1:38pm #267740
OrangeJuiceJonesParticipantWow, Glen Rice Jr. looks nothing likes his dad.
0 - Posted on: Fri, 03/19/2010 - 1:42pm #267741
JNixonParticipantYea I picked against Cornell. That was a bad mistake. I should’ve known.
GA Tech v. OK State tied up. It’s not a matter of matchups like I thought it’d be. OK State is running all kinds of defenses from man to 1-3-1 zones, and GA Tech is switching all ball screens. Keiton Page has made 2 3’s (he’s the best shooter from deep in the nation IMO) and Favors and Lawal are working hard down low. If only GA Tech would throw them the ball down low. GA Tech is playing better right now on both ends.
FSU is too poor offensively to beat Gonzaga. You can only defend well for so long if you can’t score.
Duke up by 8 on Arkansas PB.
0 - Posted on: Fri, 03/19/2010 - 1:43pm #267742
IndianaBasketballParticipantFlorida State is terrible offensively… I knew I should’ve picked Gonzaga!
0 - Posted on: Fri, 03/19/2010 - 1:48pm #267743
JNixonParticipantLOL…Yea. I don’t think Glen Rice is related to his dad. Baby mama drama?
0 - Posted on: Fri, 03/19/2010 - 1:50pm #267746
llperezi picked gonzaga confidently on this one. That was one of those picks i didn’t spend too much time thinking about because i really think gonazaga is the best 8 seed in this tournament.
0 - Posted on: Fri, 03/19/2010 - 1:50pm #267747
R-Dot-13Participantwhats everyones thoughts on the aggies vs aggies game?
0 - Posted on: Fri, 03/19/2010 - 1:51pm #267748
OrangeJuiceJonesParticipantI thought Florida State vs. Gonzaga was gonna be a grind-it-out, physical game in the 50’s, but Gonzaga is having their way.
Georgia Tech vs. Oklahoma State is really good so far. I don’t think O.K State can keep hitting threes, so hopefully James Anderson can keep getting to the hoop. Otherwise, O.K State could be in trouble in the second half.
0 - Posted on: Fri, 03/19/2010 - 1:54pm #267749
OrangeJuiceJonesParticipantI picked Michigan State to beat New Mexico State for one reason: Spartie’s tournament experience.
0 - Posted on: Fri, 03/19/2010 - 2:01pm #267752
JNixonParticipantI knew TAMU would beat Utah State. Donald Sloan was too much for their guards.
I thought Gonzaga would lose because they have struggled with athletic teams before. They almost lost to Memphis earlier this season. And I saw them play St. Mary’s and they got drug…I thought FSU would score more than 14 though with 10 mins gone.
GA Tech needs to defend better. I like them still though, Shumpert just needs to step up. If I was a coach, I would crowd James Anderson and make him a slasher, where he’s least effective.
0 - Posted on: Fri, 03/19/2010 - 2:07pm #267753
OrangeJuiceJonesParticipantSICK alley-oop jam by Shumpert, but the Yellow Jackets hurt themselves badly with subsequent back-to-back turnovers.
0 - Posted on: Fri, 03/19/2010 - 2:31pm #267755
JNixonParticipantDurrell Summers is a sleeper prospect for next season…He’s athletic, a good shooter, and a nice defender.
0 - Posted on: Fri, 03/19/2010 - 2:51pm #267761
OrangeJuiceJonesParticipantFavors with the big-brother swat on Anderson. Tech by two.
0 - Posted on: Fri, 03/19/2010 - 2:59pm #267760
JNixonParticipantMatt Pilgrim just put Derrick Favors in a poster….OK State by 2, 5 mins into the 2nd half.
0 - Posted on: Fri, 03/19/2010 - 3:04pm #267765
JNixonParticipantGeorgia Tech is hard to stop when Iman Shumpert is either scoring well or passing well..Tech has to get the ball to the post more. That’s there advantage.
0 - Posted on: Fri, 03/19/2010 - 3:11pm #267774
OrangeJuiceJonesParticipantMarshall Moses is carrying Oklahoma State right now, but I can feel this game slipping away.
0 - Posted on: Fri, 03/19/2010 - 3:18pm #267776
JNixonParticipantGA Tech playing well. Riding Shumpert and Rice’s D on the perimeter.
Check out the Gonzaga v. FSU score! Noles clawed back only trail by 5 with 3 mins left.
Michigan State holding on to a 2 point lead v. New Mexico St. They coasted too early, they are the better team head-to-head.
0 - Posted on: Fri, 03/19/2010 - 3:41pm #267784
llperezG tech is gonna be tough as long as they take care of the ball. Now bring on Louisville and Ohio State. My cali teams are about to represent.
0 - Posted on: Fri, 03/19/2010 - 3:45pm #267786
YurpleHazEParticipant23-24 at the line thats very impressive…..GT’s frontline and athleticism is gonna give OSU big problems….Matter of fact i have them beating OSU in my bracket.
0 - Posted on: Fri, 03/19/2010 - 3:50pm #267788
OrangeJuiceJonesParticipant1st loss for me today. The worst part about it is that it was kind of an easy pick; I just wasn’t paying attention. If Michigan State is the second, then me and Duke Nukem are gonna have a little chat……….
0 - Posted on: Fri, 03/19/2010 - 3:53pm #267791
JNixonParticipantWhy is Michigan State tied with New Mexico State?? I do like New Mexico State’s size on the perimeter though.
GA Tech won! Shumpert outplayed Page down the stretch, that’s all that had to happen. GA Tech matches up very well with Ohio State if they advance.
0 - Posted on: Fri, 03/19/2010 - 3:57pm #267793
llpereznew mex is taking some quick jumpers down the stretch.

JNixonParticipantYea, and they are boxing out. I like Kalin Lucas man. Good player. Does everything well.
0 - Posted on: Fri, 03/19/2010 - 4:06pm #267795
OrangeJuiceJonesParticipantThey just made one of those quick jumpers to make it a one point game. Wow, this is nerve-wrenching….
0 - Posted on: Fri, 03/19/2010 - 4:11pm #267797
JNixonParticipantLane violation? This late in the game? Sometimes, I think the refs just blow into their whistles too hard when they have it in their mouths and have to make a call….
0 - Posted on: Fri, 03/19/2010 - 4:12pm #267798
llperezbig lane violation call. It was correct, but one of those things that they need to show more consistency in. But in this case, he was in way early so new mexico can’t really complain too much.
Keep an eye on theo robertson in the cal game coming up. Im not sure if he will be an nba player or not, but i do believe he is the second best player coming out of the pac 10 this year behind only pondexter. That really shows how down the conferecen is this year when the second best player cmoing out might not even get drafted.
0 - Posted on: Fri, 03/19/2010 - 4:12pm #267799
YurpleHazEParticipantDid they really need to call that line violation…REALLY?
0 - Posted on: Fri, 03/19/2010 - 4:17pm #267801
JNixonParticipantTerrible. Just terrible. Who calls that man?
Syracuse up 6 early on Vermont. Brandon Triche looks like he could be Mike Beasley’s younger brother.
0 - Posted on: Fri, 03/19/2010 - 4:24pm #267804
knicksfan7ParticipantI need Murray State to beat Butler tomorrow, and Baylor to not get upset for me to feel confident in day 3. I think my picks for the four games now will be fine (cuse, Ohio St, L’ville, and Maryland).
0 - Posted on: Fri, 03/19/2010 - 4:26pm #267805
llperezwell vermont and ucsb look like they will be blown out. Does Houston have a chance against maryland in your guys mind?
0 - Posted on: Fri, 03/19/2010 - 4:28pm #267806
knicksfan7ParticipantActually, I would not mind if Louisville lost because in one of my pools people have Louisville beating Duke. On your question llperez22, it all depends on Aubrey Coleman.
0 - Posted on: Fri, 03/19/2010 - 4:29pm #267807
JNixonParticipantYea. You always have a chance with a lethal scorer like Coleman, but I think Maryland wins the game at the end. Vazquez should have a good game against Houston’s guards.
Syracuse putting on a clinic v. Vermont right now. Blakely is looking like a non-factor v. the zone.
Ohio State beating up on Santa Barbara as well.
0 - Posted on: Fri, 03/19/2010 - 4:32pm #267809
knicksfan7ParticipantIggy, Blakely is in foul trouble.
0 - Posted on: Fri, 03/19/2010 - 4:33pm #267810
JNixonParticipantI know…That 2nd foul was shaky though. It really wasn’t him. He just blocked the shot.
Did anyone see that move Jardine just made for the and-1? It was nice
0 - Posted on: Fri, 03/19/2010 - 4:34pm #267811
llperez12 to zero for cal right now.
0 - Posted on: Fri, 03/19/2010 - 4:35pm #267812
R-Dot-13Participant9-0 run for santa barbara?
0 - Posted on: Fri, 03/19/2010 - 4:39pm #267815
llperezohio state, even when they jumped out to a big lead on ucsb, they weren’t looking like they were playing hard. They weren’t putting pressure on the ball or attacking on offense hard. They are either playing like they know they are the better team and don’t have to go hard, or they are showing some weakness that might haunt them in the later rounds.
0 - Posted on: Fri, 03/19/2010 - 4:40pm #267816
knicksfan7ParticipantI don’t know why I picked Louisville, I don’t really like Rick Pitino or that team. Oh well. Keep it up Cal.
0 - Posted on: Fri, 03/19/2010 - 4:40pm #267817
R-Dot-13Participantnice slam for blakely..
0 - Posted on: Fri, 03/19/2010 - 4:43pm #267819
llperezdang, cal isn’t even touching the rim right now. 22-4 early and pitino calls time out.
0 - Posted on: Fri, 03/19/2010 - 4:44pm #267820
R-Dot-13Participantlol lauderdale has so many blocks.
0 - Posted on: Fri, 03/19/2010 - 4:47pm #267821
JNixonParticipantDamn Louisville?? When you think about it, the way Louisville opens up the floor in that full-court press helps Cal more than it hurts. They have solid ball-handling guards. Another bad pick by me it seems.
Maryland v. Houston underway. This is my 2nd time ever seeing Coleman play. He wasn’t great the other time. But he’s the nation’s leaqding scorer so…..

R-Dot-13Participantvermont ends the half on a 15-2 run.. can they keep it up?
0 - Posted on: Fri, 03/19/2010 - 5:00pm #267827
knicksfan7ParticipantLouisville is on a 17-8 run since being down 22-4.
0 - Posted on: Fri, 03/19/2010 - 5:02pm #267828
JNixonParticipantJim Boeheim is probably told Syracuse that he doesn’t feel like “coaching” in the 2nd half, so just play like you want to win and everything will be all good.
Louisville is making a BIG run right now….That full-court press is working and they’re making shots all of a sudden.
0 - Posted on: Fri, 03/19/2010 - 5:14pm #267835
Michael.S.ParticipantFor anyone that has IO digital cable….What friggin channel is CBS????????
0 - Posted on: Fri, 03/19/2010 - 5:41pm #267839
JNixonParticipantHouston and Cal made buzzer beating halftime shots…I need Louisville and Maryland to get wins here..
0 - Posted on: Fri, 03/19/2010 - 5:47pm #267840
llperezIf cal does get by louisville, it will be intersting to see cal’s jamal boykin going against his former duke teammates.
0 - Posted on: Fri, 03/19/2010 - 5:50pm #267844
JNixonParticipantLouisville’s guards make FAR too many silly passes…Sosa tries all kinds of retarded passes and Siva makes alot of silly mistakes because he’s too inexperienced. I’d be shocked if Louisville wins now. Cal is finishing too well at the rim and shooting too well from the perimeter.
0 - Posted on: Fri, 03/19/2010 - 6:35pm #267851
llperezSo where all the pac 10 haters at now? Im not even talking about anyone on this site. I just mean all the “experts” who even the week before the tournament were talking about the pac 10 was a terrible conference and unfortunaltely the committe would have to send one of those horrible teams. Yes, someone actually said that exact statement on espn.
0 - Posted on: Fri, 03/19/2010 - 6:56pm #267855
knicksfan7ParticipantWith Round 2 coming up what does everyone think tomorrow’s upsets will be?? I think the possibilities are as follows;
St. Mary’s over Villanova
Murray State over Butler
Washington over New MexicoWhat do you guys think??
0 - Posted on: Fri, 03/19/2010 - 7:09pm #267858
llperezi think villanova and butler both win. I like washington over new mexico, but that is an upset based on seed only.
Some possible upsets i see happening are:
GTech over Ohio St.
Cornell over Wisconsin0 - Posted on: Fri, 03/19/2010 - 7:11pm #267859
OrangeJuiceJonesParticipantMikenike, CBS is channel 2. You’re welcome.
St Mary’s over Villanova is very possible. I think the game will center around Sanham.
I like Butler over Murray State.
Washington over New Mexico is another game that I’ll watch, hoping that New Mexico can somehow pull off the win for bracket purposes. I forgot how good the Huskies are.
0 - Posted on: Fri, 03/19/2010 - 7:15pm #267863
butidonthavemoney(Off-topic) I continued the Popcorn Story!!! I know it’s been a month but let’s keep it going!!!
(On-topic) How about those games and stuff?
0 - Posted on: Fri, 03/19/2010 - 7:16pm #267864
knicksfan7ParticipantMurray State vs. Butler is going to be a very good game. I want to see Murray State win (sorry Tezo) I got brackets hoping for Butler to lose.
0 - Posted on: Sat, 03/20/2010 - 3:12am #267997
JNixonParticipantI only missed 3 games yesterday….
Look for GA Tech over Ohio State ( I think Evan Turner could have trouble beating an elite defender like D’Andre Bell, and with Derrick Favors or Lawal rotating from the weakside he could have a tough shooting game.) That’s my only upset for round 2..
0 - Posted on: Sat, 03/20/2010 - 3:32am #267998
rtbtParticipantHey mikenike, just look for the channel that turns a 40 minute game into a 2 hour contest with 8 media and 10 team timeouts per game. That channel will have a total 18 timeouts, which comes to approximately 1 timeout every 2 minutes.
0 - Posted on: Sat, 03/20/2010 - 4:22am #268006
JNixonParticipant^^Sour? lol. You must be a Texas Longhorns or G’Town Hoya fan
0 - Posted on: Sat, 03/20/2010 - 4:34am #268010
IndianaBasketballParticipantIt should be a good game, but I have Butler beating Murray State. They’re actually a better matchup for Butler than Utep was. I think Butler’s defense, execution and shooting will put them on top.
0 - Posted on: Sat, 03/20/2010 - 4:47am #268015
JNixonParticipantButler got hot in that 2nd half against UTEP..I had Murray State beating UTEP to get to the Sweet 16 at 1st but changed it..
I’m not expecting too many upsets today though
0 - Posted on: Sat, 03/20/2010 - 4:49am #268018
R-Dot-13ParticipantGo Murray St, Old Dominion, Ohio, Cornell, St Mary’s, Northern Iowa, Missouri, BYU, Wake Forest, California, Xavier and Gonzaga!
That would be a fun sweet 16 wouldnt it
0 - Posted on: Sat, 03/20/2010 - 5:02am #268023
JNixonParticipantDid you pick them in your bracket? Or are you rooting for all underdogs?
0 - Posted on: Sat, 03/20/2010 - 5:11am #268026
IndianaBasketballParticipantKansas vs Michigan St
Ohio St vs TennesseeSyracuse vs Butler
Pittsburgh vs Kansas StKentucky vs Wisconsin
West Virginia vs New MexicoDuke vs Texas A&M
Villanova vs Baylor0 - Posted on: Sat, 03/20/2010 - 5:21am #268029
JNixonParticipantKansas vs Maryland
GA Tech vs Tennessee (I had G’Town at 1st, but….)Syracuse vs Butler (Had UTEP but….)
Pittsburgh vs Kansas StKentucky vs Wisconsin
West Virginia vs New Mexico (Had Marquette but….)Duke vs Purdue
Villanova vs Baylor0 - Posted on: Sat, 03/20/2010 - 5:32am #268033
IndianaBasketballParticipantWho do you have for your Elite Eight?
0 - Posted on: Sat, 03/20/2010 - 5:42am #268035
JNixonParticipantKansas v. GA Tech (now that G’Town is done)
Syracuse v. K-State
Wisconsin v. WVU (Yep, I like Wisconsin to upset Kentucky)
Duke v. Villanova
0 - Posted on: Sat, 03/20/2010 - 7:37am #268074
JNixonParticipantSamhan putting on a clinic early…Villanova playing good perimeter D though. St. Mary’s up by 5.
0 - Posted on: Sat, 03/20/2010 - 7:40am #268075
QUINCEYdont be suprised to see ga tech big men get in foul trouble because of turner and lighty.
and how about my terps and our drake look alike at center getting 21 and 17
0 - Posted on: Sat, 03/20/2010 - 7:45am #268076
JNixonParticipantI have Tech advancing. Crazy huh? I think Favors and Lawal on the weakside rotations could give Turner and the rest of OSU’s slashers some trouble. Iman Shumpert matches up very well with Turner as well. Alot of the advantages Tech had against OK State they could have against Ohio State.
I like how Maryland played yesterday. Drake did step up.lol. My mom said the same thing about him looking like Drake. haha. I have them advantaging past Michigan State. Especially if Williams has a carbon copy of what he did last night.
0 - Posted on: Sat, 03/20/2010 - 8:26am #268078
rtbtParticipantHow many more commercials can they squeeze into the game? We can’t see 2 consecutive minutes of action. This is absurd!
0 - Posted on: Sat, 03/20/2010 - 8:43am #268084
JNixonParticipantSamhan is probably going to get looks in the 2nd round after this performance in the tourny.
St. Mary’s up by 7 with 12 mins left.
0 - Posted on: Sat, 03/20/2010 - 8:44am #268085
OrangeJuiceJonesParticipantChrist, this St. Mary’s team is fundamentally sound……… and big. Scottie Reynolds can’t find the basket.
0 - Posted on: Sat, 03/20/2010 - 8:55am #268087
JNixonParticipantSamhan is automatic against them. Villanova has had trouble stopping big men every time I watch them. Maalik Wayns is a good prospect for them 3 years from now. He’s very similar to Ty Lawson. I think Villanova should think aboiut switching to a zone to throw them off and to kinda offset Samhan’s effect. Maybe it’s too late though?
Villanova with the comeback. Up by 1 with 7 mins left.
0 - Posted on: Sat, 03/20/2010 - 9:34am #268089
JNixonParticipantMy bracket is ruined…..Damn you Big East!
0 - Posted on: Sat, 03/20/2010 - 10:42am #268099
knicksfan7ParticipantWell I said last night as today’s upsets
Saint Mary’s over Villanova: Correct
Murray State Over Butler: In Progress
Washington Over New Mexico: Later Today.1 for 1 so far.
0 - Posted on: Sat, 03/20/2010 - 10:59am #268103
JNixonParticipantVillanova has killed the South part of my bracket.
Gordan Hayward is not that impressive. I picked Murray State to go to the Sweet 16 in my bracket before my revisions, so I’m going to need Butler to win so I don’t feel bad about myself LOL.
0 - Posted on: Sat, 03/20/2010 - 11:00am #268102
rtbtParticipantHow could Butler beat anybody when they’re incapable of grabbing rebounds? At halftime, Murray State out rebounded Butler 2 to 1.
0 - Posted on: Sat, 03/20/2010 - 11:12am #268105
IndianaBasketballParticipantHayward isn’t being aggressive enough offensively. I like his activity on the defensive end and glass though.
0 - Posted on: Sat, 03/20/2010 - 11:13am #268106
IndianaBasketballParticipantI expect them to win this game though.
0 - Posted on: Sat, 03/20/2010 - 11:16am #268108
JNixonParticipantYea he has made some plays on D, forced a few travels and altering some shots with his length. He’s got a better motor than most would think on the glass as well.
I think Butler should take this game too….Murray St. has bad flow in their half-court sets.
0 - Posted on: Sat, 03/20/2010 - 11:20am #268110
IndianaBasketballParticipant#1 on Murray State tries too hard lol
0 - Posted on: Sat, 03/20/2010 - 11:29am #268114
llperezOMAR!!!!!! I got butler in the sweet 16, but i dont care, go murray state. OMAR!!!!!
0 - Posted on: Sat, 03/20/2010 - 11:30am #268116
JNixonParticipantMurray St is running their half-court offense alot more smoothly….Butler not making easy shots at the rim. Could be a bad combo.
Game tied with 1 min left.
0 - Posted on: Sat, 03/20/2010 - 11:31am #268117
JNixonParticipantMurray St is running their half-court offense alot more smoothly….Butler not making easy shots at the rim. Could be a bad combo.

Big and-1!!
0 - Posted on: Sat, 03/20/2010 - 11:45am #268119
IndianaBasketballParticipantGood defensive play by Hayward to seal the victory. #3 from Murray State will remember that turnover for the rest of his life. Tough loss. I’ve been saying all season that Butler would be in the Sweet 16 though!
0 - Posted on: Sat, 03/20/2010 - 11:49am #268120
JNixonParticipantYou can’t take a loss without even getting a shot up….Horrible way to end the season.
0 - Posted on: Sat, 03/20/2010 - 11:50am #268122
llperez15 seconds and you dont even get a shot off? Tough way to end your season. Butler is a vry solid team. i dont know if hayward will be very good in the pro’s or not, but i agree with tezo in that the morrison comparison is terrible. Totally different players outside of being white.
0 - Posted on: Sat, 03/20/2010 - 11:59am #268126
JNixonParticipantYea, he’s more Mike Dunleavy Jr.
0 - Posted on: Sat, 03/20/2010 - 12:05pm #268130
llpereznorthern iowa is up early. I better type that now before reality sets in. Go IOWA. Nice pass out of the double team there by kansas. I guess he firgured he would make NIU pay for leaving the third row open.
0 - Posted on: Sat, 03/20/2010 - 12:12pm #268131
JNixonParticipantNorthern Iowa matches up well with KU, but I expect KU to win this one. Too much athleticism and mismatch opportunities. They just need to make some perimeter shots to take the pressure off Aldrich and the twins.
Baylor v. Old Dominion is on. 13 mins left in the 1st half, Baylor by 10. I’m going to watch that one too..
0 - Posted on: Sat, 03/20/2010 - 12:13pm #268132
llpereziggy, how do you choose wich game to watch?
0 - Posted on: Sat, 03/20/2010 - 12:16pm #268135
JNixonParticipantcbssports.com has internet feeds on all the games. So you can watch them on the computer.
0 - Posted on: Sat, 03/20/2010 - 12:30pm #268136
R-Dot-13Participantno lol.. im just rooting for the underdogs
go Northern Iowa!
tough loss for Murray St but huge win for St Mary’s
0 - Posted on: Sat, 03/20/2010 - 12:39pm #268138
llperezwashington and new mexico are going back and forth. Washington is getting all the inside looks they want, i think they only hit one shot further then 15 feet so far.
0 - Posted on: Sat, 03/20/2010 - 12:44pm #268140
JNixonParticipantLaceDarius Dunn is a super crafty scorer man…Gotta love a scorer like that. Look out for Anthony Jones and Perry Jones next year. They’ll have alot of length on the perimeter with those two, mismatch city.
I think Washington have a good chance of winning that one. I’ve never been all that impressed with New Mexico, even though Hobson does have some nice talent. New Mexico has a soft interior game on both ends for the most part..
0 - Posted on: Sat, 03/20/2010 - 1:04pm #268143
llperezkansas is going down down down, kansas is going down. Brackets aross america are gonna go up in flames.
0 - Posted on: Sat, 03/20/2010 - 1:05pm #268144
R-Dot-13Participantlets go Northern Iowa!
Jordan Eglseder is a beast!
0 - Posted on: Sat, 03/20/2010 - 1:06pm #268145
llperezWhat was that a week ago iggy about if the huskies get past the first weekend you would be the first to admit you were wrong?
0 - Posted on: Sat, 03/20/2010 - 1:09pm #268147
JNixonParticipantYea. Looks like I was wrong LOL
Kansas needs to get it together! I think they will though. If Sherron Collins and Tyshawn Taylor stop taking these TERRIBLE shots and driving the lane with no place to go.
0 - Posted on: Sat, 03/20/2010 - 1:11pm #268148
R-Dot-13ParticipantOld Dominion is on a run..
0 - Posted on: Sat, 03/20/2010 - 1:12pm #268149
llperezit’s surprising how littl eball pressure kansas is putting on NIU. NIU seems to be running their offense smoothly from the few minutes ive seen.
0 - Posted on: Sat, 03/20/2010 - 1:13pm #268150
R-Dot-13Participantman Northern Iowa can shoot the basketball
0 - Posted on: Sat, 03/20/2010 - 1:14pm #268151
JNixonParticipantKansas is in trouble. Sherron Collins is making a bunch of poor decisions…Northern Iowa is shooting the lights out
0 - Posted on: Sat, 03/20/2010 - 1:15pm #268153
Michael.S.ParticipantKansas is getting thouroughly outplayed…and I doubt we see a dramatic change in the score unless kansas gets very hot and N.I. gets too confident
0 - Posted on: Sat, 03/20/2010 - 1:17pm #268154
R-Dot-13Participantor gets sloppy like that…
0 - Posted on: Sat, 03/20/2010 - 1:19pm #268155
Michael.S.ParticipantExactly what I mean, stupid and lazy pass by Amenish
0 - Posted on: Sat, 03/20/2010 - 1:29pm #268157
Michael.S.ParticipantThis Farokamanesh guy is NOT shy
0 - Posted on: Sat, 03/20/2010 - 1:30pm #268158
JNixonParticipantYea, I’m not liking KU’s chance right now….I hate KU and everything, but I picked them for the title in my bracket. Bittersweet feeling right now thinking about whether or not they win.
0 - Posted on: Sat, 03/20/2010 - 1:35pm #268159
llperezi picked kansas to win it all as well, but i want niu to win so bad. Washington , NIU and Old D all winning would make me very happy
0 - Posted on: Sat, 03/20/2010 - 1:37pm #268160
JNixonParticipantKansas starting to wake up. Only trail by 3.
ODU has the lead over Baylor. They are going back and forth.
Washington should win against New Mexico barring a big collapse.
0 - Posted on: Sat, 03/20/2010 - 1:39pm #268161
R-Dot-13ParticipantHUGE THREE
0 - Posted on: Sat, 03/20/2010 - 1:39pm #268162

0 - Posted on: Sat, 03/20/2010 - 1:42pm #268164
llperezDoes anyone like cal to beat duke tommorrow? Max Zhang the 7-2 chinese dude got some serious pt yesterday since Amoke is suspended.
0 - Posted on: Sat, 03/20/2010 - 1:45pm #268166
MagikKnickParticipantMy bracket is screwed, but i had Kentucky winning it all so i feel good about that, less competition
But theres still a good amount of time left in this game, lets not rule Kansas out yetBut I sure do love a good upset…
0 - Posted on: Sat, 03/20/2010 - 1:48pm #268167
JNixonParticipantI like Duke, but my predictions have been shiittty lately…Brian Zoubek matched up well with the 7’2 guy. And Duke has versatile defenders for Cal’s attack. I do like the Randle v. Scheyer matchup for Cal though.
Kansas is getting to NIU with the trap! This game is getting exciting! Henry needed to make the front end of the 1 and 1 at least.
0 - Posted on: Sat, 03/20/2010 - 1:54pm #268168
R-Dot-13Participantomg, you said it, Farokmanesh is NOT shy
that 3 took balls0 - Posted on: Sat, 03/20/2010 - 1:55pm #268169
MagikKnickParticipantFarokmanesh just put a knife in Kansas’ heart
0 - Posted on: Sat, 03/20/2010 - 1:55pm #268170
JNixonParticipantThat 3 was COLD-BLOODED!
0 - Posted on: Sat, 03/20/2010 - 1:59pm #268171

LeroyJenkinsParticipantwhy would you do that to me northern iowa?
0 - Posted on: Sat, 03/20/2010 - 2:19pm #268188
knicksfan7ParticipantWell does anyone think Quincy Pondexter has raised his draft stock???
0 - Posted on: Sat, 03/20/2010 - 2:22pm #268190
JNixonParticipantThat was a BIG upset. I did not expect that to happen.
Washington is playing well at the perfect time LOL. I did not think they’d be in the Sweet 16. Hell, I didn’t think they were tourny worthy…They handed New Mexico their head.
K-State vs. BYU is getting ready to get started in about 10 minutes….Look for Freddette to have a tougher time scoring than he did against Boynton. Dominique Sutton is going to be matched up with him, he’s our most best and most physical defender.
Llperez, how do you feel about Bryan-Amaning of Washington? He’s very athletic and long..

YurpleHazEParticipantThis is why they call it march madness…..RIP to my bracket

JNixonParticipantTime to wake up K-State!
0 - Posted on: Sat, 03/20/2010 - 3:40pm #268202
JNixonParticipantJimmer Freddette who? Ball-handling looking real shaky right now, he’s been stripped twiice by Pullen and he’s having a hard time beating guys off the bounce. His lack of quickness is evident right now. Jacob Pullen has 18 points and is 5-8 shooting 3’s. Denis Clemente getting to the rim and throwing up prayers lol, but it’s not hurting us too much. Our size is overwhelming BYU right now.
K-State up 10 at the half!
Kentucky looks good. Up 16 at the half.
0 - Posted on: Sat, 03/20/2010 - 3:52pm #268205
llpereziggy, Bryan-amanning is a good athlete and has good footwork finishing off plays in the paint. He’s long and his defense has been a big part of their getting better down the stretch. He will have an opportunity to play himself into second round consideration next year with pondexter leaving. But im not sure what he brings offensively that is at an nba level.
Justin Holiday has also been big. He is another 6-6 athlete who has long arms and gets after it defensively. He had 3 blocks and 3 steals today and did a good job on Hobson. Elston turner is the teams best shooter. He went 5-6fg’s and had 14 points against marquette and had a couple big threes again today. This team is so deep, that Darnell Gant who started every game last season is now the 9th man.
0 - Posted on: Sat, 03/20/2010 - 4:58pm #268212
JNixonParticipantK-State advances to the Sweet 16….Jacob Pullen completely outplayed Freddette this game. Feels great to be a K-State Wildcat fan
0 - Posted on: Sat, 03/20/2010 - 5:33pm #268219
OrangeJuiceJonesParticipantDeMarcus Cousins was ballin’ today. I laughed hard when he got that steal in the backcourt; it looked so natural.
Tomorrow, I have:
Syracuse over Gonzaga
Pittsburgh over Xavier
Purdue over Texas A&M
Duke over California
Michigan State over Maryland
Ohio State over Georgia Tech
Cornell over Wisconsin
I know it seems like I’m just going with the higher seed, but it just turned out that way. Who are your picks?
0 - Posted on: Sat, 03/20/2010 - 5:40pm #268221
llperezOJJ, I like all those picks except the purdue one. Im really curious to see the gonzaga vs syracuse game. Originally i had gonzaga winning, but i thought better of it and changed it. But I still think that could be a great game. Im felling like the zag gaurds might be a little to slow to attack any kind of press syracuse puts on though.
0 - Posted on: Sat, 03/20/2010 - 5:54pm #268225
OrangeJuiceJonesParticipantWhy don’t you like Purdue?
0 - Posted on: Sat, 03/20/2010 - 6:02pm #268226
JNixonParticipantTomorrow, I have:
Syracuse over Gonzaga
Pittsburgh over Xavier
Purdue over Texas A&M
Duke over California
Maryland over Michigan State
Georgia Tech over Ohio State
Wisconsin over Cornell
—I wouldn’t be surprised if Syracuse lost to Gonzaga though. They have the inside advantage with Onuaku still hurt.
I’m a little shaky on the Purdue game, but I now as I think, I think TAMU takes it. Donald Sloan and their athletic and long frontline should have a good deal of success against Purdue’s undermanned frontcourt.
0 - Posted on: Sat, 03/20/2010 - 6:04pm #268227
llperezI don’t know. Im not too educated on them, but i do think their low scoring performances after losing humell are a concern.
0 - Posted on: Sun, 03/21/2010 - 6:15am #268302
JNixonParticipantSyracuse v. Gonzaga getting ready to be underway. This could be another upset possibly. Onuaku out could give Gonzaga an inside advantage, even though there zone could offset the Zags advantage
0 - Posted on: Sun, 03/21/2010 - 6:35am #268305
LeroyJenkinsParticipanthow do you guys feel about robert sacre? Everytime ive seen him play this year he has looked pretty lazy
0 - Posted on: Sun, 03/21/2010 - 6:42am #268307
JNixonParticipantYea i don’t care for him that much. He’s not particularly good at anything in particular, even though he has great size for an NBA center. He’s a poor defender too
0 - Posted on: Sun, 03/21/2010 - 7:02am #268311
OrangeJuiceJonesParticipantGonzaga was killing Syracuse inside early, but Syracuse has the 3-ball working.
0 - Posted on: Sun, 03/21/2010 - 7:21am #268314
JNixonParticipantThey were getting on the inside of the zone. Rick Jackson plays great sometimes, then other times he plays like he did in the 1st half. He’s a terrible defender man…
Wes Johnson looks very good. He has a super pure jump shot and he rebounds well. I think he can be just like Danny Granger in the League. He’s that good and he’s got some potential despite being old for college.
Elias Harris has been outstanding. He’s a big mismatch. He can play anything at the college level, and could possibly play the 2,3, and the 4 in the pros. I like him.
Matt Bouldin has disappeared. He’s done nothing at all.
Brandon Triche has been impressive as well. He’s stepped up alot in the tourny. I wasn’t impressed with him before, but he’s shooting well and slashing well with his strong body. He’s a SG much more than a PG, but he is playing great offensively and defensively.
Jardine also scoring well and making under control
0 - Posted on: Sun, 03/21/2010 - 8:59am #268332
JNixonParticipantI told you guys that GA Tech matches up well with Ohio State. Evan Turner ball-handling looking shaky against GA Tech’s pressure. GA Tech up by 3, would be more if they’d take better shots. Iman Shumpert makes some bad decisions sometimes
WVU is benefitting from the press that Mizzou is throwing at them. They have the athletes to play at that pace and score.
Michigan State is control over Maryland. Maryland struggling to score. MIch State by 10.
0 - Posted on: Sun, 03/21/2010 - 9:46am #268341
llperezCan Cornell be yet another double seed to advance to the sweet 16? Im pulling for them. Im really liking evan turner. He was shaky early but is now getting where he wants.
0 - Posted on: Sun, 03/21/2010 - 9:46am #268342
R-Dot-13ParticipantCornell looks really good right now vs Wisconsin
0 - Posted on: Sun, 03/21/2010 - 9:57am #268344
JNixonParticipantCornell is looking good…I need Wisconsin to win that game though. Now that’s looking doubtful. smh
I spoke too soon about GA Tech. Iman Shumpert aka Dr.Heckyl and Mr. Hyde is struggling, so of course GA Tech is struggling. Derrick Favors is in foul trouble and showing no post awareness offensively, but he is a HUGE presence on D. Ohio State has struggled to score when he’s in the game. Gani Lawal also in trouble. Lighty is stepping up for OSU. Ohio State by 9.
0 - Posted on: Sun, 03/21/2010 - 10:21am #268347
R-Dot-13ParticipantRyan Wittman can shoooooot
0 - Posted on: Sun, 03/21/2010 - 10:25am #268348
JNixonParticipantJohn Diebler is putting on a shooting display as well for Ohio State. They are up by 12 right now with 3 and some change left..
0 - Posted on: Sun, 03/21/2010 - 10:27am #268350
R-Dot-13ParticipantLouis Dale is playing good ball right now too..
0 - Posted on: Sun, 03/21/2010 - 10:50am #268352
R-Dot-13Participantwhat a run by maryland…
0 - Posted on: Sun, 03/21/2010 - 11:08am #268353
JNixonParticipantKorey Lucious is big time! That shot by Vazquez was great too! I picked Maryland, but I don’t care about my bracket for that one…that was what the tourny is all about
0 - Posted on: Sun, 03/21/2010 - 11:25am #268354
R-Dot-13Participantgood game, it is what the tourney is all about.. i really wanted maryland to win though, maryland is the only ACC team in the tourney that I like, and Vasquez is one of my favorite college players, great game though
0 - Posted on: Sun, 03/21/2010 - 11:29am #268355
llperezsomewhere quincey is probably mourning that maryland loss. Tough way to go. Izzo is gonna have his work cut out for him against NIU.
Can’t wait for the game of the day, Cal vs Duke. I like duke to win, but im obviously puling for cal big time. All 3 of the senior wings, randle, robertson and cristopher had it going against louisiville, hope they can keep it going.
0 - Posted on: Sun, 03/21/2010 - 11:40am #268357
R-Dot-13ParticipantDid anyone see Izzo almost call a timeout before hte game winner??
then he decided not to right at the last second…0 - Posted on: Sun, 03/21/2010 - 11:41am #268360
JNixonParticipantI like little Jerome Randle for Cal. He’s super quick and he has a nice shot if you back off of him
0 - Posted on: Sun, 03/21/2010 - 11:51am #268364
llperezanyon else having problems with this site running slow?

R-Dot-13ParticipantI am too, i have for hte past few days
0 - Posted on: Sun, 03/21/2010 - 11:56am #268366
JNixonParticipantDear sweet Jesus yes……This site has been sluggish for me since Friday
0 - Posted on: Sun, 03/21/2010 - 12:03pm #268367
OrangeJuiceJonesParticipantXavier’s doing me wrong. CBS sucks; I didn’t see the end of that Michigan State game because they were too busy showing Ohio State make free throws.
0 - Posted on: Sun, 03/21/2010 - 12:07pm #268368
llperezdamn, cal is forcing bad shots and the duke size is gtting all kinds of easy shots around the rim. There is still time though and cal is a team that can get hot in a hurry. Omonde Amoke who is normally their starting pf is back home suspended. He must be kicking himself right now.
0 - Posted on: Sun, 03/21/2010 - 12:16pm #268371
R-Dot-13ParticipantTexas A&M looks good right now.. i think they will take this one quite easily, but who knows.
Duke is up 15… there is time but Im not sure about a comeback right now.
Xavier is impressive right now, I like Jordan Crawford’s game.
0 - Posted on: Sun, 03/21/2010 - 12:50pm #268373
R-Dot-13ParticipantI hope Cal can make a run
0 - Posted on: Sun, 03/21/2010 - 1:00pm #268377
JNixonParticipantPitt and Xavier is a great game…Two teams that play just alike. Real gritty game. Should come down to who steps up most, Ashton Gibbs or Jordan Crawford.?
0 - Posted on: Sun, 03/21/2010 - 1:06pm #268378
LeroyJenkinsParticipantman i feel dumb for thinking max zhang would be a defensive force for california by now
0 - Posted on: Sun, 03/21/2010 - 1:13pm #268381
llperezmax zhang is still a project. He’s a sophomore who i honestly didn’t think would ever see any minutes for cal during his 4 years. He needs to get stronger quick, but i actually like his footwork and mobility for a 7-2 guy. Duke is just dominating the paint aginst cal all game long.
0 - Posted on: Sun, 03/21/2010 - 1:15pm #268383
JNixonParticipantZhang never looks like he knows what to do on the court whenever I watch Cal play. I had a feeling Zoubek would be a big reason Duke would take this matchup.
0 - Posted on: Sun, 03/21/2010 - 1:30pm #268393
JNixonParticipantThe TAMU v. Purdue game is good and so is this Xavier game.
0 - Posted on: Sun, 03/21/2010 - 1:53pm #268398
R-Dot-13ParticipantThat was a nice cross by Kramer, huge take
0 - Posted on: Sun, 03/21/2010 - 2:09pm #268400
JNixonParticipantYea, that was pretty big-time.
I’m glad K-State gets Xavier! We beat them by 15 earlier in the year. They’ve improved since then, I know, but so have we! I like our chances.
0 - Posted on: Sun, 03/21/2010 - 7:14pm #268479
OrangeJuiceJonesParticipantSyracuse blew out Gonzaga, but it took a tremendous showing from three in order for it to happen. I really hope that they can get Onuaku back soon. I think they can handle Butler without him though.
Xavier over Pitt was the only wrong pick I had today, but I still enjoyed watching it. It was an exciting game, and Pitt did a great job clawing back into it.
Purdue over Texas A&M was my game of the day. Chris Kramer did exactly what I banked on him doing: shutting down Donald Sloan. Bryan Davis couldn’t be stopped inside, and I don’t think they can deal with Plumlee, Zoubek and Duke. I have Purdue losing.
Evan Turner showed why he’s one of, if not THE best, players in the country against Georgia Tech today. His behind-the-back crossover is purdy.
K-State should handle Xavier. I’d be surprised if they won by less than 8.
I’m watching Michigan State over Maryland now, since CBS didn’t make it much of a priority. Sorry to hear about Lucas.
I picked Cornell to beat Wisconsin, but I didn’t think the Badgers would get blown out like that. The Big Red put on a CLINIC from the outside! That was one of the best shooting performances I’ve seen in quite some time. I love their fast-paced, but under control style of play.
0 - Posted on: Sun, 03/21/2010 - 9:04pm #268493
marcusfizer21ParticipantMake the Jesuits proud… LOL… By the way, should Jordan Crawford’s stock rise now that he’s doing wonders for XU? I’m glad that they are getting back to the Sweet 16… Expect a tough match-up between K-State and Xavier… anyhting can happen.

Kentucky over Cornell
Northern Iowa over Michigan State
Syracuse over Butler

Tennessee over Ohio State
Duke over Purdue

knicksfan7ParticipantKansas State over Xavier
Cornell over Kentucky (you all know I hate Calipari)
Northern Iowa over Michigan State
Syracuse over Butler
WVU over Washington
Baylor over St. Mary’s
Ohio State over Tennessee (Tennessee will be overmatched after having an easy road to get where they are)
Duke over Purdue (Won’t be shocked if the outcome is Purdue over Duke though)

QUINCEYi think i might be the only person in my state whos bracket has all those teams except mich state. and thats only because i let a female i know pick my bracket since she has won the past 2 pools at her job…i went against her pick of mich st over maryland though..lol
i doubt it works out that way though iggy for some reason it never does i expect 2 upsets out of that but i hop there arent any
0 - Posted on: Thu, 03/25/2010 - 10:02am #269755
JNixonParticipantI picked Tennessee and Northern Iowa as my 2 upsets. But that Washington v. WVU game should be interesting. They match up well with WVU, especially with Truck Bryant out. I just think Mazulla’s defense will be tough on Overton and little Isaiah Thomas.
0 - Posted on: Thu, 03/25/2010 - 10:09am #269761
QUINCEYwow hate is a strong word..i cant think of anyone i dont know personally that i hate other then a killer.
i think the purdue duke…xavier kstate and tenn ohio will be very very good games
0- Posted on: Thu, 03/25/2010 - 10:28am #269773
knicksfan7ParticipantI know hate is a strong word, Quincey, and he is the only person in college basketball I hate. I use the word very rarely, maybe 1 or 2 other people I hate, but I don’t think so as of now. I hate what he represents, everything that is wrong in college basketball.
0
- Posted on: Thu, 03/25/2010 - 10:32am #269774
QUINCEYso you hate coach’s who havent been proven to have done things but who have had rumors about doing things. you must hate alot ofcollege coachs. must hate dean smith as well since he had some rumors that were never proven. everything thats wrong in college basketball is the things the ncaa has done not the coachs. most of these rules are very very dumb. cant count how many times i hated that i couldnt go get a job while i was in college because of ncaa rules or how i couldnt fly out to see some of my boys nba games because he wasnt allowed to pay for my ticket and i couldnt get it because i was broke. i think ill join you on the hate train and say i hate the ncaa and its dumb rules

knicksfan7ParticipantI do agree with you on the part there is a lot we don’t know about the “clean coaches” and what they may have done that was illegal. We have had this debate many times. What I do think is that some coaches are in the middle of a scandal when they really had no clue. Though, with a guy like Calipari I believe he was a part of a lot of the wrongdoings that have been associated with the school’s he has coached. I think he had a significant role in Derrick Rose’s SAT scores.

QUINCEYthats understandable for you to think that but at the same time he could have easily had no knowledge abou tit. this is why i like the 12 jury thing. if its up to one person, even if they have no proof and is just going by what they feel a guy could be put to death. zero evidence but just by how a person feels.
im pretty sure you hate derrick rose and webber and camby since they represent whats wrong with basketball player
0- Posted on: Thu, 03/25/2010 - 11:03am #269789
knicksfan7ParticipantAs players, I don’t hate them. Chris Webber, that was before my time, as was Camby. The whole Webber situation I don’t understand. The Camby situation I believe from what I have read there was a big part of it that he did not know what was going on, one of his friends was taking money that was supposed to be for Camby and never told Camby about it, so I can’t blame Camby there. Derrick Rose, I don’t know how he can live with himself for having someone else take a test for him in his name, I just don’t get that.

llperezim pulling for all underdogs. Im guessing that egypt character is pulling for omar smahan and the saint marry gaels.
0 - Posted on: Thu, 03/25/2010 - 11:05am #269790
QUINCEYlol..yeah he probably is… personally i dont want a bunch of upsets…i would not like to see st marys vs cornell in the finals( they might be in the same bracket but this is just an example)…espn did a article about it and how bad the ratings would be if you had a final four or final of 2 under dogs. it would be equivalent to a regular season game between two mid major teams
0 - Posted on: Thu, 03/25/2010 - 11:13am #269795
QUINCEYwebber was taking money since highschool. the same with a couple of duke and unc players during coach k and dean smith era. although never proven just liek coach cal so they belong under the hate banner as well. pprobably have to put roses parents there too because if the coach knew about it then theres no way the parents didnt. everyone has there opinion i just cant understand how anyone can hate someone when theres no proof of there guilt. just the person thinking that the coach had something to do with it. i honestly hope you dont get jury duty
0- Posted on: Thu, 03/25/2010 - 11:23am #269801
knicksfan7ParticipantQuincey, I hope I don’t get jury duty either it’s a waste of time they keep you there for a long time and you may not get selected and it wastes a day of work.
Chris Webber accepting money since high school is his fault only, no college coach should be faulted for something that was going on before those coaches were trying to get him to sign to there program.
I believe that Coach K was willing to take whatever penalty was assessed to Duke for what Maggette did. No penalty was ruled for Duke, but I know Coach K would have handled it with class.
0
- Posted on: Thu, 03/25/2010 - 11:29am #269802
QUINCEYwebber also got money while in college as well. wouldnt some of the highschool stuff fall on the highschool coach as well since there were rumors that he helped broker some of the deals. and i wasnt talking about maggette. there are 2 other players who were all americans who got money from boosters. other people in the raliegh area knows this as well. one of the players talked about it while i was sitting there when he was chill with my brother after working out. i dont know if coach knew about it or not so im not gonna blame him but i could easily say i think coach k knew about it. the thing that you and other people may not realize is you dont know these coaches..all you know is what they show you on tv. so none of us can say this is what they would or wouldnt do. how many public figures look perfect then get caught for something and we think ” wow i didnt know that”.. all we know is what they protray there self to be and we have to be smart enough to take it with a grain of salt and not think ” well on tv they look like a great guy so i for sure know they are great guys”
0- Posted on: Thu, 03/25/2010 - 11:35am #269806
knicksfan7ParticipantI agree there is a lot the general public does not know and only knows what is publicly said. I tend to believe people are good overall, but once they gain power it is how they handle that power and determines who they really are. I have understood that coaches can’t control what players do off the court and taking money. I mean I wish there could be something to make sure players don’t accept money, but they want certain things that they can not obtain otherwise and accepting money to get whatever it is they want. Though, coaches who have been repeatedly in scandal’s makes you wonder what they’re doing, or why do they always go after recruits with troubled history’s???
0
- Posted on: Thu, 03/25/2010 - 11:50am #269811
QUINCEYi can under stand the make you wonder thing but you have to take into account the type of recruits some coachs get. coach k tends to get smart recruits who come from a good home and that already have money. coach cal tends to get guys from poor homes who dont grow up with money. hes much more likely to have a player who does something wrong then coach k does. same with a coach who coachs yale
0- Posted on: Thu, 03/25/2010 - 12:00pm #269818
knicksfan7ParticipantGood points. Though, I think a coach who is recruiting players from a poorer home should tell his players that if they accept anything anyone outside of the program then they will either withdraw the scholarship offered, or if they already accepted will suspend them for “disciplinary reasons” to set an example. I don’t think the NCAA needs to handle everything, but coaches should be able to hand down suspensions for something there own players did wrong. It would save the NCAA a lot of time investigating bs.

gatorheelsParticipantPREDICTIONS:
Kentucky by 6…Cornell should slow the game down & shoot a ton of 3’s that is their best chance to win. Kentucky is deeper, they should full court press all game to speed the game up & tire out Cornell. The speed of the game is key. Kentucky better not jack up a lot of 3’s.
West Virginia by 6…..I’m not sold on the bigs for Washington. I think WV will control the boards & find a way to win. I have a feeling the Huskies shoot poor %’s this game.
Duke by 8….Purdue can only win without Hummel for so long. I think Purdue gets a little rattled this game.
Baylor by 9……The game is played in Texas. Home court for Baylor pretty much. Udoh should be able to bother Samhan. Baylor overall has too much size & athleticism.
Northern Iowa by 6….Mich St. won’t be able to score effectively without Lucas & playing against that tough UNI defense. Northern Iowa should play a very smart game. UNI is a pretty well balanced team. Steady guard play & size/skills in the post too.
Ohio St. by 9….Too many mismatches here. Tennessee isn’t very good on defense for the most part. Ohio St. has too many wings that are all capable of dropping 25 points any given night. The Vols don’t have enough scoring in the post to offset the advantage Ohio St. has on the wings & in the backcourt.
Syracuse by 10….How is Butler going to score? Matt Howard will be getting his shot blocked. Hayward will see a couple of athletic wing defenders. Syracuse should dominate the boards.
Xavier by 5…Gut feeling here. I’m just not sold on Kansas St. Xavier can score in a variety of ways. Xavier is pretty athletic & can score at every position. If Kansas St. has a poor shooting night from 3 than Xavier should win fairly easy.
Games I’m looking forward to watching the most: Ohio St. vs. Tennessee, Kentucky vs. Cornell
Games I don’t even want to watch: Xavier vs. Kansas St., Duke vs. Purdue

McWinningParticipantXavier over Kansas State
Kentucky over Cornell (It will be a close game but their just too good.)
Northern Iowa over Michigan State
Syracuse over Butler
Washington over West Virginia
St. Mary’s over Baylor
Ohio State over Tennessee
Duke over Purdue

QUINCEYtrue but these players already know that… itsliek you dont hwv to tell a kid not to seel drugs because they know they can go to jail if they get caught. but its hard for a kid not to accept the money or in roses case, not let someone pass the test for them so they can play college basketball and get to the nba. i have to be honest if i know im not smart and cant pass the test but i know i have future nba talent but also know i could not make it if i end up going to juco i would probably do the same thing. does it make it right?..nope but when youre that age( or as an adult peopel still break rules) you arent thinking about the rules youre thinking about going to the nba or getting money when you grew up never having money
0 - Posted on: Thu, 03/25/2010 - 12:17pm #269826
QUINCEYhow is butler going to score?..the same way they always score. how many blocks a game do you think syracuse averages? you think matt is gonna get all or even 3 of his shots blocked?…i think the cuse will win but i wouldnt be suprised if they lose. i actually wouldnt be suprised if any of the top teams lose. they all are capable of losing to the teams they are facing. none of them are sure things
0 - Posted on: Thu, 03/25/2010 - 12:22pm #269830
McWinningParticipantYeah Butler proved they cant beat with the elite when they struggled in their non conference schedule. It will help that Onuoko is injured but Howard will struggle. Fortunately i think Hayward will keep them in the game. but im picking the Cuse.
0 - Posted on: Thu, 03/25/2010 - 12:24pm #269835
QUINCEYwell we all know the bigeast isnt as elite as they appeared to be birdzilla
0 - Posted on: Thu, 03/25/2010 - 12:25pm #269833
JNixonParticipantLOL, you guys are going to be surprised when Kansas State wins. Xavier has no matchup advantages in this game, and Jordan Crawford is facing our best perimeter defender in Dominique Sutton. Sutton got under his skin in the 1st matchup too and made him look very average. Look for Jamar Samuels to play well after slumping for the past 3 games or so. He’s the biggest matchup problem that either team can put on the floor.
I like Cuse’s zone to bother Butler the same way Georgetown’s did.
0 - Posted on: Thu, 03/25/2010 - 12:33pm #269841
McWinningParticipantReally? Just compare their non conference schedules and youll see how bad Butler was, and the Big East may have been overrated, but honestly do you think the Horizon league is good at all?
I do think K-state Xavier will be close, but honestly i think Crawford will take over i the clutch.
0 - Posted on: Thu, 03/25/2010 - 12:50pm #269844
QUINCEYyeah and yet here they are in the sweet 16. look at how good kansas non conference schedule was. so yeah really. you can throw out all that non schedule stuff this time of year. its only one game and all it takes is a guy or team getting hot at the right time and the other team not playing well. im sure you have watched many tournaments to know this
0 - Posted on: Thu, 03/25/2010 - 12:53pm #269847
JNixonParticipantThe fact is they don’t match up well with Syracuse at all. I think Syracusae wins this game by at least 10 points. Butler will have a tough time on both ends.
0 - Posted on: Thu, 03/25/2010 - 12:55pm #269848
QUINCEYon a side note i will not be watching mich st and northern i…im still sick to my stomach that my terps lost that game. we had a chance to beat norther i and get to the elight 8. i think that lost is the second most hurtful lost in my terps history. the first being when we had duke by 10 in the final four with one minute left and jason williams decided to take over and break my heart
0 - Posted on: Thu, 03/25/2010 - 12:59pm #269851
Im Your FatherParticipantI’m pretty sure that game wasn’t in the final four. Duke did come back from a 20 point defict to Maryland in the final four though. And it was that very same year. The “Miracle Minute” was during the regular season.
0 - Posted on: Thu, 03/25/2010 - 1:05pm #269855
QUINCEYthats what i ment. my bad i got the games mixed up…that final four game was the heart breaker because we were up by alot…we would have beat arizona after that im sure of it

QUINCEYman birdzillia howard keeps getting his shot blocked..what ever will he do to stop this?
0 - Posted on: Thu, 03/25/2010 - 1:30pm #269871
JNixonParticipantHoward has been ineffective though so far. It’s more of the perimeter guys like Shelvin Mack knocking down 3’s.
0 - Posted on: Thu, 03/25/2010 - 1:34pm #269873
QUINCEYi never disputed his effectiveness.. just disputed him getting his shot blocked all day and the fact that just because they didnt do well in some non conference games doesnt mean they dont have a chance to win
0 - Posted on: Thu, 03/25/2010 - 1:40pm #269879
JNixonParticipantRick Jackson is playing terrible. He looks good some games, then he has games like this where he looks like he’s never played before. He’s already in foul trouble this game AGAIN.
0 - Posted on: Thu, 03/25/2010 - 1:53pm #269894
llperezman, this washington vs wvu game is UUUGGGLLLLYYYY. Both teams shoting bricks and turning it over like they were playing with a football. UDubb up 2 early though despite not hitting one jumper yet.
0 - Posted on: Thu, 03/25/2010 - 1:53pm #269895
R-Dot-13ParticipantButler is playing real well..
Syracuse better wake up!0 - Posted on: Thu, 03/25/2010 - 1:54pm #269898
QUINCEYthey are doing the things you are suppossed to do in order to score against a 2-3 zone
0 - Posted on: Thu, 03/25/2010 - 1:58pm #269903
JNixonParticipantLLPerez, that bodes well for WVU. I think they have a better chance of winning a sloppy game were both teams are struggling to shoot well.
And yea, Butler looking real good. Finding soft spots and not making bad decisions with the ball. Syracuser has done well on the last few possessions though.
0 - Posted on: Thu, 03/25/2010 - 2:00pm #269904
llperezi agree, iggy to an extent. But turnovers lead to fast breaks, and washington thrives off of breaks wich has allowed them to score so far.
0 - Posted on: Thu, 03/25/2010 - 3:11pm #269980
llperezwvu is hitting shots and washington is getting nothing on offense. WVU is a heck of a defensive team. Let’s see if washington has a run.
Butler going to advance, i love it. Sorry Dhamp

QUINCEYBIRDZILLA WHERE ARE YOU AT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!11
0 - Posted on: Thu, 03/25/2010 - 3:20pm #270005
llperezWWWOOOWWW, F.uc.king horrible job by the refs. They are bending the huskies over right now. An easy offensive foul on wvu turns into a block and tech that results in 4 points at this stage in the game. HUGE screw job.
0 - Posted on: Thu, 03/25/2010 - 3:22pm #270008
llperezAnd they have been calling offensive fouls all night on the huslies, so then they get that call wrong and then call a tech on top to further compound their mistake is just huge. I can take a loss like a man, but not when the refs are gonna make it impossibel to win.
0 - Posted on: Thu, 03/25/2010 - 3:31pm #270026
llperezWVU was the better team and they deserved to win. Good job by them. But the refs can suck my nuts, im out.

QUINCEYlol…i missed that game./..the refs were that bad huh

knicksfan7ParticipantWell Mid-Majors reign, and I love it. Let’s Go Cornell.
0 - Posted on: Thu, 03/25/2010 - 3:45pm #270041
gatorheelsParticipantI picked Butler to get beat in the 1st Round by UTEP.
I just expected bigger more athletic teams to give them trouble. Plus Butler had a weak schedule for the most part. I guess you can’t overlook these very smart scrappy teams.
0- Posted on: Thu, 03/25/2010 - 3:50pm #270045
knicksfan7ParticipantI did the same, and regret it. Though I am really loving Brad Stevens and the job he is doing. I wonder how much longer he stays at Butler, or if Butler moves to a better conference for basketball. Only time will tell.
0
- Posted on: Thu, 03/25/2010 - 3:52pm #270051
llperezAll right, im calm now. WVU had too much size down low. BUt it helps a lot when the refs allow those bigs to bang washington guys around. ANd then when the huskies try and take a charge at the other end, its a blocking foul every time. Even the announcers called out the refs for their garbage, and they have no bias. I dont blame lorenzo romar for getting t’d up sticking up for his guys.
Qunincey pndexter had a tough night and the huskie gaurds didn’t knock down shots other then justin hiloday. They lost becuase they lost, no excuses. but it could have been a closer game if not for the refs.
0- Posted on: Thu, 03/25/2010 - 3:57pm #270057
knicksfan7Participantllperez22 can we eliminate refs all together. Play outdoors, chain link fences, call your own fouls, a true foul isn’t a foul unless you’re bleeding, oh the good old playground basketball days.
0
- Posted on: Thu, 03/25/2010 - 4:00pm #270062
QUINCEYlol..those out door games would be interesting…someof thes midmajors would probably get blownout because of how rough the gamewould be. hellno one would win with no refs
0- Posted on: Thu, 03/25/2010 - 4:06pm #270073
knicksfan7ParticipantMan some of those mid-major players are the types that were under looked and told they were too short, not fast enough, etc so in an outdoor game they may bring a little bit more than you would expect quincey.
0
- Posted on: Thu, 03/25/2010 - 4:02pm #270064
llperezI have no history on this site of blaming refs for anything. I believe they do as good a job as they can, and even when my bruins or lakers lose, i don’t blame refs. But that was hard to take man. There are some calls that are close calls, and it seemed wvu got all of them. Then they just blew some absolute no brainer calls as well. When the announcers are calling out the refs for a poor job, then you know somehting is up.
I promise that’s the end of my whining. Either way, the pac 10 did what they could to try and save some face this year. It will bouce back next year.
Lets go underdogs
0 - Posted on: Thu, 03/25/2010 - 4:04pm #270068
OldSkoolBasketballParticipanthow awesome would it be if Northern Iowa, Butler, Cornell and Saint Marys are in the final 4? No one would predict that would happen.
0 - Posted on: Thu, 03/25/2010 - 4:08pm #270076
QUINCEYyes they will bounce backnext year(stanford)..lol. but turthfully i do think they will be on there way back to being one of the best conferences in college

knicksfan7ParticipantQuincey look at my post on the thread you just posted. Thanks.
0 - Posted on: Thu, 03/25/2010 - 4:11pm #270080
JNixonParticipantK-State is in control.
And the refs did swallow their whistles in the WVU v. Washington game. Romar got a tech after arguing a SCREWED-UP call by the ref.
0 - Posted on: Thu, 03/25/2010 - 4:14pm #270083
QUINCEYblazerfan7 that final four would suck..lol
knicks i doubt it.. most of those syracuse games are more street then butler games. dont wanna sound racist but most black players step up a tad more in street ball games when they are going against a white kid and theres no refs and they have there boys on the side line getting on them every single time that white guys scores on them. we start to give the lil cheap shot here and there and the adrinaline starts to pump
0- Posted on: Thu, 03/25/2010 - 4:16pm #270084
knicksfan7ParticipantTrust me, as a white kid being the only white guy on the court with 8 or 9 other black kids, I know what you mean. Though, once you earn respect it don’t matter if you’re white, black, brown, red, or yellow you can ball that’s all anyone on the court cares about.
0
- Posted on: Thu, 03/25/2010 - 4:45pm #270102
QUINCEYyeah a white kid can earn respect and be accept but as a black guy youre still gonna feel you are much better and that you have the easiest challenege when you have a white guy on you. And even feel you can over power and intimidate him even if hes bigger
0- Posted on: Thu, 03/25/2010 - 4:50pm #270104
knicksfan7ParticipantQuincey from your past pictures, I’ll take you’re black. I am white. I understand what you’re getting at though once a white guy earns that respect the people he plays with of any race knows he can play ball. Yeah maybe a new cat that happens to be black comes in and thinks he can take the white guy, and if the white guy just does his thing the black guy will feel frustrated among other things.

OrangeJuiceJonesParticipantWhat a dumb foul by Kansas State, which caused Holloway to go to the free-throw line for THREE free throws; he made all of them. Because of that, they’re in overtime.
0 - Posted on: Thu, 03/25/2010 - 6:19pm #270131
OrangeJuiceJonesParticipantLong three by Jordan Crawford sends the game into a second overtime…..
0 - Posted on: Thu, 03/25/2010 - 6:19pm #270132
knicksfan7ParticipantThis game between Xavier and Kansas State is something else. Jordan Crawford taking that shot 2nd most ballsy shot next to Ali’s shot against Kansas.
0 - Posted on: Thu, 03/25/2010 - 6:39pm #270143
llperezman that Dante Jackson from xavier choked. I dont blame him for missing a wide open 3 with the game on the line, but he looked like bo outlaw throwing a rock with that shot. Then the announcers say he is a 40% 3pt shooter, so you know the presure got to him for him to look that ugly on the shot.
0 - Posted on: Thu, 03/25/2010 - 6:46pm #270145
OrangeJuiceJonesParticipantI picked K-State to win, but I’m 99% positive that I screamed like a 12-year-old girl when Jordan Crawford hit that three. I hope that tomorrow’s action is just as good.
0- Posted on: Thu, 03/25/2010 - 6:51pm #270147
knicksfan7ParticipantOrangeJuiceJones, I picked Kansas State as well and need a miracle to happen to win my pool, but I was torn between who too root for. I love my mid-major schools (though Xavier is basically a major program in a mid-major conference), on a side note I go to Hofstra on Long Island, so I have to rep the mids when I can, and on occasion talk about mid-major players to get there names out. Though, I love Frank Martin’s coaching I wish I could play under him I would run through walls to play for him. GOD that was such a great game it won’t sink in for a while.

knicksfan7ParticipantIggy, I love Frank Martin and the team he coaches. Though, I still have a fighting chance to win my bracket pool. Kansas State losing helps, but doesn’t kill me. I love Butler, and the mid-majors, so I have a tough time.
0 - Posted on: Sat, 03/27/2010 - 10:36am #271052
JNixonParticipantI like my boys in this one! I’m excited though. We are going to get their best shot and they’re going to get ours.
Coach Martin does seem like a guy you just wanna work hard for.
0- Posted on: Sat, 03/27/2010 - 10:39am #271056
knicksfan7ParticipantI have said that if I were a college basketball player, and good enough to play for Coach Martin I would run through walls to play for him. I would want him to say my name when asked hardest working player you have ever had. That is how much I love Frank Martin. Btw Gus Johnson calling this game makes it all the better.
0
- Posted on: Sat, 03/27/2010 - 10:37am #271053
knicksfan7ParticipantIf this is a low scoring game Butler wins. Butler beats you defensively. Also, Butler matches up very well against Kansas State, so I don’t see this being a blow out.
0 - Posted on: Sat, 03/27/2010 - 10:43am #271059
IndianaBasketballParticipantI like Butler in this one. If Kansas State is going to win, they’ll have to do it in the post and I don’t think they’re good enough down there. It’ll be a low scoring game and Butler wins. My prediction.
0- Posted on: Sat, 03/27/2010 - 10:45am #271060

I really like Butler in this one though. I love they way they’ve taken away Pullen and Clemente so far. You can’t even tell Pullen is on the floor.

IndianaBasketballParticipantWow… Butler is putting the clamps on Pullen and Clemente. Brad Stevens is doing an amazing coaching job.
0- Posted on: Sat, 03/27/2010 - 11:16am #271071
knicksfan7ParticipantTezo, serious question. How long do you think Brad Stevens remains at Butler?? Do you think he’ll be like Mark Few or Stu Morrill, or jump to a major conference school?
0
- Posted on: Sat, 03/27/2010 - 11:21am #271077
knicksfan7ParticipantYeah, I am getting that feeling, though he is young. I do think if the Indiana job were to ever open up he would take that job being from Indiana. Though, the Horizon league isn’t a very good league, he may want to move out with or without Butler. Either way he is a helluva coach.
0 - Posted on: Sat, 03/27/2010 - 11:22am #271078
IndianaBasketballParticipantStepback three by Hayward LOL…
By the way… The reports are that his family are interviewing agents.
0- Posted on: Sat, 03/27/2010 - 11:24am #271082
knicksfan7ParticipantI don’t see Hayward leaving after this season, he isn’t ready. This Butler team is nice, wondering what Frank Martin is going to say to his players at the half. I feel so dumb not picking Butler to win a game, and listening to the “experts”
0
- Posted on: Sat, 03/27/2010 - 11:27am #271083
IndianaBasketballParticipantI don’t either, but I’ve felt that way about many other players in the past. The reports are that his family is interviewing a ton of agents. I hope he returns. He’s not ready.
Wow… 27-20 at the half. Has Pullen even scored?
0- Posted on: Sat, 03/27/2010 - 11:30am #271084
knicksfan7ParticipantPullen is scoreless (0 for 2 with 2 steals 0 assists and 3 turnovers) and Clemente has 2 points on 1 for 6 shooting. From reading Hayward’s scouting report on this site it said he is an engineering major, what I could see is he graduates in 3 years and goes to the NBA rather than jumping this year. That’s my feeling. If Stevens returns his squad they’ll be a very very very good team next year.
0
- Posted on: Sat, 03/27/2010 - 11:32am #271085
IndianaBasketballParticipantPullen and Clemente are a combined 1-8 for 2 points. And that bucket Clemente got was a fastbreak layup at the end of the half.
0 - Posted on: Sat, 03/27/2010 - 11:35am #271073
IndianaBasketballParticipantHe’s not going anywhere… He’s too loyal. I think he’ll be here for a long time… Unless he gets an opportunity that he just can’t pass up.
0 - Posted on: Sat, 03/27/2010 - 11:39am #271087
JNixonParticipantI think either Pullen or Clemente step up in this half. Clemente hurt his ankle or something, which is hurting his best weapon, his speed. I think it’s a miracle we’re down by only 7, with both of our guards ineffective so far. Look for a down for the wire game. They won’t keep Pullen AND Clemente shut down for the entire game.
Frank Martin has to realize that Luis Colon shouldn’t be on the team, let alone playing in the game. He’s been responsible for about 12 of the points We’ve given up.
He also needs to put Jamar Samuels on Hayward. Not Curtis Kelly. Let Kelly guard Howard.
0- Posted on: Sat, 03/27/2010 - 11:40am #271089
knicksfan7ParticipantIggy, Butler is doing a great job on Pullen every time has touched the ball they have 1 guy on him, sometimes 2, but if not 2 they have another guy shadowing Pullen.
0
- Posted on: Sat, 03/27/2010 - 11:43am #271091
IndianaBasketballParticipantI’m expecting Pullen to come out very aggressive in the 2nd half. Butler has been playing him very tight and trapping off the pick and roll. I’m interested to see how Martin will free him up because he’s on lock.
I agree that K State needs to take Kelly off of Hayward. He can’t defend him on the perimeter.
If not for Kelly’s good first half, K State would be down double digits.
0 - Posted on: Sat, 03/27/2010 - 12:00pm #271103
IndianaBasketballParticipantHayward for threee!
Butler winning the 50-50 plays.
0 - Posted on: Sat, 03/27/2010 - 12:30pm #271115
knicksfan7ParticipantKansas State is starting to hit there 3’s and Butler is starting to play a little bit sloppy. 5 minutes left, let’s see who steps it up.
0 - Posted on: Sat, 03/27/2010 - 12:34pm #271117
IndianaBasketballParticipantIt also helps that the refs are blowing calls. Two out of bounds balls that should’ve went Butler’s way. They’re allowing Kansas State’s bigs to push in the back.
0 - Posted on: Sat, 03/27/2010 - 12:36pm #271119
knicksfan7ParticipantWhen Clemente got free, the rest of Butler’s team picked up on that beautifully. If Pullen made that shot I would’ve been shocked.
0 - Posted on: Sat, 03/27/2010 - 12:38pm #271120
JNixonParticipantI don’t wanna hear any complaining about the refs helping K-State…They have been screwing up all game long swallowing their whistles for us.
Why did Pullen take that shot? Why?
0- Posted on: Sat, 03/27/2010 - 12:40pm #271122
knicksfan7Participantman don’t we all say the refs screw up games. The refs are human. I think the game is being officiated okay.
0
- Posted on: Sat, 03/27/2010 - 12:39pm #271121
IndianaBasketballParticipantDouble bonus the rest of the way… That’s MAJOR. Butler is a very good free-throw shooting team.
0 - Posted on: Sat, 03/27/2010 - 12:43pm #271124
knicksfan7ParticipantPullen is trying to win the game with 2 minutes left, plenty of time left.
0 - Posted on: Sat, 03/27/2010 - 12:43pm #271123
IndianaBasketballParticipantHayward came to play today.
They missed two obvious out of bounds calls that turned out to be momentum changers for K State.
Pullen and Clemente are turning selfish. Taking risky three’s.
0 - Posted on: Sat, 03/27/2010 - 12:46pm #271126
knicksfan7ParticipantMissed Free throws and unnecessary 3’s as led to K-State’s demise.
0 - Posted on: Sat, 03/27/2010 - 12:46pm #271127
IndianaBasketballParticipantLOL… Hayward is giving it to K State just because of YOU Iggy!
0 - Posted on: Sat, 03/27/2010 - 12:49pm #271128
IndianaBasketballParticipantBring it home baby!!!!!!!! Butler! I KNEW they were going to the Final Four!
0- Posted on: Sat, 03/27/2010 - 12:51pm #271129
knicksfan7ParticipantTezo you going??? I expect you to be there. How far is Indy from Butler???
0
- Posted on: Sat, 03/27/2010 - 12:52pm #271130
gregoden08ParticipantWassssupppppp Butler haters? Dang Heyward was smoking everybody. Feel bad for Clemente, but that’s just how it goes in march madness!
0 - Posted on: Sat, 03/27/2010 - 12:52pm #271131
QUINCEYlol..i didnt say they were gonna when but once again i said dont count them out because of there non conference loses. and here they go winning again
0 - Posted on: Sat, 03/27/2010 - 12:54pm #271132
JNixonParticipantDAMN!!!!
0 - Posted on: Sat, 03/27/2010 - 12:56pm #271133
IndianaBasketballParticipantI had Butler going to the Final Four the whole time. I’ve been saying it. Have been high on Hayward. I’ve been going to their games all season.
YES… I am going to the Final Four. It’s at Lucas Oil Stadium downtown. Exciting time around here.
0 - Posted on: Sat, 03/27/2010 - 12:57pm #271134
- Posted on: Sat, 03/27/2010 - 1:00pm #271135
IndianaBasketballParticipantI love it that ALL of the experts picked against Butler. I had Butler losing to Kansas in the Final Four, but now that Kansas is out… I think Butler will play in the National Championship. They’re literally damn near playing on their homecourt. Downtown is 10 minutes away from Butler.
0 - Posted on: Sat, 03/27/2010 - 1:04pm #271137
OrangeJuiceJonesParticipantEverybody in my money pool picked Syracuse over Butler. I gave it a second thought, considering that Syracuse lost to Georgetown in the Big East tournament, but I picked Syracuse anyway. I still have a very solid lead, but I’m just pissed that K-State lost. I mean happy. So happy, I’m gonna go kick a toddler in the chest. I mean party. Yeah, that’s it.
0 - Posted on: Sat, 03/27/2010 - 1:06pm #271138
IndianaBasketballParticipantPredictions for Kentucky vs West Virginia? I’m anxious to see Ebanks defend Wall.
I have West Virginia winning, but it can go either way. I think the key to the game will be Cousins. West Virginia really doesn’t have the size to stop him.
0 - Posted on: Sat, 03/27/2010 - 1:10pm #271141
knicksfan7ParticipantTezo, I agree on Cousins being the key. To me Cousins doesn’t realize how great he can be and allows lesser players get the better of him. To me there is no reason why he couldn’t have been better than John Wall with his size and physical gifts. There are players in college basketball who can guard John Wall 1 on 1, very very very few maybe 1 or 2, but there is no one in college basketball that can guard Cousins 1 on 1.
0 - Posted on: Sat, 03/27/2010 - 1:12pm #271143
JNixonParticipantDAMN!!!
0 - Posted on: Sat, 03/27/2010 - 1:13pm #271145
IndianaBasketballParticipantLol Kansas State had a great season. I don’t think anybody thought they’d go this far at the beginning of the season. I think they just ran out of gas.
I think this Kentucky vs W.V. game will be the game of the tournament. I’m expecting a very physical game.
0 - Posted on: Sat, 03/27/2010 - 1:15pm #271146
JNixonParticipantThat 1-3-1 with Ebanks up top is no hoe….
0 - Posted on: Sat, 03/27/2010 - 1:15pm #271147
OrangeJuiceJonesParticipantI have Kentucky by 8. I think Wall is gonna have a big game on both ends of the court. It’s gonna be exciting though.
0 - Posted on: Sat, 03/27/2010 - 1:19pm #271148
IndianaBasketballParticipantLol @ Iggy. Ebanks is loooong.
Looks like Calipari is thinking the same thing I’m thinking. Pound it down low to Cousins. He’s the key.
0 - Posted on: Sat, 03/27/2010 - 1:22pm #271153
IndianaBasketballParticipantHow’s that Air-Alert going? You being consistent?
0 - Posted on: Sat, 03/27/2010 - 1:24pm #271155
QUINCEYebanks being long is a understatement. me and my boys were just talking about that. wall is checking ebanks which is suprising to me and probably has some nba scouts thinking how its not too far feteched to have him guard some sg sometimes( utah maybe)
0 - Posted on: Sat, 03/27/2010 - 1:25pm #271157
JNixonParticipantI think Kentucky wins this one by about 8. And then I think they get the title. They can play any style.
They have Bledsoe and Wall to push in fast-pace gameS, and Patterson and Cousins in a slow game.
0 - Posted on: Sat, 03/27/2010 - 1:32pm #271163
OrangeJuiceJonesParticipantAir-Alert is working miracles for me right now. I grabbed rim for the first time EVER on Thursday, and I’m only entering week 4. I can hang in the air and re-adjust my shot, so I’m not getting my lay-ups blocked anymore. I also haven’t been nearly as sore as I thought I would, so I’ll be able to continue.
0 - Posted on: Sat, 03/27/2010 - 1:33pm #271164
IndianaBasketballParticipantYea Quincey… I didn’t realize just how long Ebanks was. He kind of has that Earl Clark effect out there… Just looks so much longer than everybody.
This game is going to be very close. WV isn’t going to go away and they have a great coach. Then UK has a game vs Duke (assuming they beat Baylor) who’s a very good defensive team with one of the greatest college coaches to ever do it. UK still has their work cut out for them.
0 - Posted on: Sat, 03/27/2010 - 1:33pm #271165
knicksfan7ParticipantSorry, but what is Air-Alert???
0 - Posted on: Sat, 03/27/2010 - 1:35pm #271167
IndianaBasketballParticipantI told you lol. It’s crazy. Just stay consistent man. That’s the real key. It’s going to start hurting. Just keep doing it though. Wait until you get to week 8. Whoooo.
0 - Posted on: Sat, 03/27/2010 - 1:37pm #271170
QUINCEYim thinking 10 point or more win by uk. they are bigger better and just as fast. i see blow out for some reason..hope im wrong though. rather see a good game
0 - Posted on: Sat, 03/27/2010 - 1:39pm #271171
IndianaBasketballParticipantNice move by Wall. Crossover and then the step back jumper. That was a good no call by the refs on the backcourt violation.
0 - Posted on: Sat, 03/27/2010 - 1:42pm #271172
OrangeJuiceJonesParticipantAir-Alert is a 15-week workout program designed to improve your vertical leaping ability. Google “Air Alert 3” and you should find everything you need to get started.
0 - Posted on: Sat, 03/27/2010 - 1:44pm #271174
JNixonParticipantJohn Wall reminds me of D.Wade. I usually don’t make comparisons to a superstar of that magnitude unless it’s obvious….but it’s obvious.
0 - Posted on: Sat, 03/27/2010 - 1:44pm #271175
knicksfan7ParticipantThanks OrangeJuiceJones. OJJ, did you play college ball in your day??
0 - Posted on: Sat, 03/27/2010 - 1:44pm #271176
IndianaBasketballParticipantI still have all the tapes and charts from when I did it in high school. I tried both jump shoes and Air Alert, and I liked Air Alert better. You use your own body weight as resistance.
0 - Posted on: Sat, 03/27/2010 - 1:45pm #271177
llperezi think the announcer is wrong when explaining that how that should have been a backcourt on kentucky. Yes patterson had control, but once WVU knocked it away, it was then a loose ball and doesn’t matter if it touched a kentcuky player last before going in the backcourt. What are your understanding of the rule.
0 - Posted on: Sat, 03/27/2010 - 1:46pm #271180
IndianaBasketballParticipantI’m with you. I thought the same thing, but Billas said it should’ve been a backcourt.
0- Posted on: Sat, 03/27/2010 - 1:49pm #271182
knicksfan7ParticipantCome on guys if we played at Duke like Bilas we would be doing his job better than him. He is such an arrogant prick if you ask me.
0
- Posted on: Sat, 03/27/2010 - 1:51pm #271185
llperezyeah, i don’t like his attitude too mauch. Every time he opens his mouth, he sounds as if he trying to educate people like his word is god. Still not sure about that call. And who said WVU couldn’t shoot?
0 - Posted on: Sat, 03/27/2010 - 1:55pm #271192
OrangeJuiceJonesParticipantI’m 20 and in my first year of college (I was supposed to start last year, but I worked for a year instead), and I’m doing Air Alert because I’m tired of getting my lay-ups blocked. I’m not really interested in playing college ball, mainly because of the fact that I’m 6’1 and it would take some SERIOUS work on my handle to be able to play guard at the college level, but we’ll see what happens.
0- Posted on: Sat, 03/27/2010 - 1:59pm #271197
knicksfan7ParticipantCool. I am turning 20 in July currently a sophomore in college. Where do you go to school?? Yeah I am 5’8″, but I am going to try playing for my school’s club team, never played in High School, but I wasn’t a bad athlete by any means school activities weren’t my thing, lol.
0- Posted on: Sat, 03/27/2010 - 4:11pm #271335
OrangeJuiceJonesParticipantI go to a community college in New Jersey. I was a double-threat in high school (a bad athlete AND a bad student). On the court, all I could do was shoot and play post defense because I was too heavy to move, and I had this habit of never going to class. Only now can I see how dumb it was to skip class and eat whatever I wanted.
0 - Posted on: Sat, 03/27/2010 - 4:11pm #271336

knicksfan7ParticipantOJJ, how much of this are you being serious on because you do joke plenty, if you’re not I wish the best of luck.
0
- Posted on: Sat, 03/27/2010 - 1:58pm #271195
IndianaBasketballParticipantWow… W.V. is shooting the lights out from deep. Like I said… Kentucky is in for a fight. This will not be a double digit ball game.
0 - Posted on: Sat, 03/27/2010 - 2:01pm #271198
QUINCEYi played against kover out in utah in open gym…hes very very good..had to check him a couple times.. hit me with a 2 dribble pull up and a nice drive and spin fade away jumper. you dont realize how good the non super stars are untill playing against them. another player out there who does work is a kid named lance allred. played with the cavs for awhile and is deaf but is very good
0 - Posted on: Sat, 03/27/2010 - 2:01pm #271199
JNixonParticipantKentucky getting out of control out there, Liggins just got a tech.
0 - Posted on: Sat, 03/27/2010 - 2:03pm #271201
QUINCEYi dont see them to continue to hit threes all game like that. they are hot right now liek gt against maryland. eventually they will have to hit other shots. then again maybe they will still hot all game but i doubt it
0 - Posted on: Sat, 03/27/2010 - 2:03pm #271202
IndianaBasketballParticipantI played against Korver in college… In the MVC. He hit you with that two dribble pull up too, huh lol? His jumper is wet. He’s the best shooter I’ve ever seen or played against. And he’s arrogant with it too.
0 - Posted on: Sat, 03/27/2010 - 2:04pm #271204
JNixonParticipantI agree Quincey. I played against Mario West of the Hawks this summer, and it was almost impossible for me to dribble without him taking the ball away. He could drive and finish and he was cash on open shots (even though he’s a terrible shooter for the NBA). Makes you appreciate just how good you have to be to make it to the League.
0 - Posted on: Sat, 03/27/2010 - 2:28pm #271219
JNixonParticipantSeriously…who’s more energetic than Kevin Jones at WVU. I love that guy.
0 - Posted on: Sat, 03/27/2010 - 2:30pm #271220
IndianaBasketballParticipantCousins with three fouls… That’s huge. The 1-3-1 is really limiting Kentucky. I’m telling y’all… If Kentucky doesn’t start making jumpshots, they’re in trouble.
0 - Posted on: Sat, 03/27/2010 - 2:31pm #271222
knicksfan7ParticipantI picked Kentucky, but I am loving this seeing WVU sticking it to Kentucky. I hate coach Cal.
0 - Posted on: Sat, 03/27/2010 - 2:32pm #271223
JNixonParticipantYea this will be a good game. Should’ve known since that 1-3-1 is so tough.
0 - Posted on: Sat, 03/27/2010 - 2:34pm #271226
IndianaBasketballParticipantThat was a dumb foul by Cousins. He should know his team can’t afford to have him on the bench in foul trouble. In my opinion… Kentucky won’t recover from this run, unless they start making jumpshots. They’re down ten now, with the key to the game on the bench.
0 - Posted on: Sat, 03/27/2010 - 2:35pm #271227
JNixonParticipantThey aren’t going to sit him. They’re just going to hope he’s mature enough to play through it.
0 - Posted on: Sat, 03/27/2010 - 2:35pm #271228
IndianaBasketballParticipantCalipari taking a risk by leaving Cousins in with three. I like the risk. It’ll be interesting to see if he can be smart and avoid that 4th foul.
0 - Posted on: Sat, 03/27/2010 - 2:37pm #271229
knicksfan7ParticipantYou know Cousins drives me nuts. This guy has a body and game that can dominate everyone on the court, but he is such a baby on the court it doesn’t allow him to be the best he can be. I wouldn’t be shocked if he is a bust in the NBA because of his lack of maturity.
0 - Posted on: Sat, 03/27/2010 - 2:39pm #271231
IndianaBasketballParticipantCousins is big and strong, great hands/feet… But he’s slow and literally has no explosion off the floor. I wonder how good he’ll be in the NBA.
I’m a little disappointed with Wall’s D. He’s gotten beat of the dribble and fallen asleep off the ball. He needs to get focused on that end.
0 - Posted on: Sat, 03/27/2010 - 2:40pm #271232
knicksfan7ParticipantI think Cousins can be a great NBA player, but his attitude and immaturity have to go. He doesn’t hustle, and lets bad calls linger.
0 - Posted on: Sat, 03/27/2010 - 2:40pm #271233
JNixonParticipantYea Wall is falling asleep out there.
Cousins looked like a baby so much when he was swinging his arms just then LMAO. And then he reached in and almost got a 4th foul out of frustration.
0 - Posted on: Sat, 03/27/2010 - 2:43pm #271235
IndianaBasketballParticipantThat youth for Kentucky on display…
0 - Posted on: Sat, 03/27/2010 - 2:43pm #271236
MkadozaParticipantI cant tell you how wierd it is to be cheering with WVU fans in the Carrier Dome. I admit my bracket is ripped to shreds, and big props to Butler. I doubted them all year, and I couldn’t have been more wrong. But this is the game of the Tourney. Right now, UK looks flustered defensively after the three point barrage. If they don’t pick up the intensity, focus and, most importantly, discipline on the defensive end, this could spell trouble for the Wildcats.
0 - Posted on: Sat, 03/27/2010 - 2:46pm #271237
MkadozaParticipantBledsoe’s foul problems will be the nail in UK’s coffin.
0 - Posted on: Sat, 03/27/2010 - 2:46pm #271238
IndianaBasketballParticipantUK not making jump shots. 0-12 from 3-point. They’re in trouble.
0 - Posted on: Sat, 03/27/2010 - 2:48pm #271240
QUINCEYamn if wall isnt stealing the ball from you his on the ball defrense isnt that great.. this isnt the first time ive seen guards go past him like this
0 - Posted on: Sat, 03/27/2010 - 2:48pm #271241
JNixonParticipantKentucky in trouble. They can’t make their shots. John Wall playing bull fighter defense.
0 - Posted on: Sat, 03/27/2010 - 2:48pm #271242
IndianaBasketballParticipantI don’t like Kentucky’s body language… Where is John Wall’s fire?
WV carving them up.
0 - Posted on: Sat, 03/27/2010 - 2:49pm #271245
IndianaBasketballParticipantI’ve been saying all year that John Wall’s on ball defense isn’t that great… He plays the passing lanes. That is all.
His off the ball defense isn’t that great either. He falls asleep all the time.
0 - Posted on: Sat, 03/27/2010 - 2:51pm #271247
knicksfan7ParticipantIf Kentucky somehow finds a way to beat WVU, they won’t be able to win a championship, these guys don’t have the fire to be winners.
0 - Posted on: Sat, 03/27/2010 - 2:53pm #271250
IndianaBasketballParticipantThey do have fire… I think they’re stunned. Stunned that W.V. has made three-pointers… They’re also stunned by W.V.’s length.
0 - Posted on: Sat, 03/27/2010 - 2:56pm #271251
IndianaBasketballParticipantJohn Wall is a one man fast break lol.
0 - Posted on: Sat, 03/27/2010 - 3:00pm #271255
QUINCEYyeah who thought wvu would come out and have 11 three pointers with a a lil less then half the game being over
0 - Posted on: Sat, 03/27/2010 - 3:02pm #271257
QUINCEYthis is what wall will see in the nba.. athletic big guards who can score one on one. i hope he gets better in his half court offense. right now his fast break and full court offense is very very nice( unless someone steps in front of him sometimes)
0 - Posted on: Sat, 03/27/2010 - 3:04pm #271259
JNixonParticipantI don’t agree that WVU lacks fire. They are the most energetic and fiery team left in the tourny now that K-State is out IMO. They don’t usually score or shoot that well, but they get after it on both ends.
0 - Posted on: Sat, 03/27/2010 - 3:06pm #271261
IndianaBasketballParticipantWall is exciting/fun to watch, especially when he plays with fire and confidence, but I think he’s a little overrated. I just am not so sure that he’s going to be a superstar. I haven’t been impressed with him as much as other people have been.
0 - Posted on: Sat, 03/27/2010 - 3:07pm #271263
knicksfan7ParticipantOnce Wall starts playing in the NBA it is all up to how hard he works in the off-season. How much he wants to get better, he has all the physical gifts to do it.
0 - Posted on: Sat, 03/27/2010 - 3:11pm #271267
MkadozaParticipantKevin Jones is on the early list for All Big East next year. He’s a tweener with a live body, good body strength and a good offensive feel for the game.
On another note, Kentucky’s free throw shooting has been terrible.
0 - Posted on: Sat, 03/27/2010 - 3:11pm #271268
QUINCEYi like him and think he has the potential to be a super star but his worst case isnt rondo as someone said. he has alot to work on as far as becoming a gifted scorer at the next level. the good thing is he is a very gifted passer. unlike rose he doesnt have the body to finish all the time with contact and unlike paul he doesnt have the jumper to keep teams very honest on defense.
0 - Posted on: Sat, 03/27/2010 - 3:12pm #271269
IndianaBasketballParticipantI felt all along that W.V. would do this to Kentucky. It finally looks like their youth and cockiness has bite them in the ass.
0 - Posted on: Sat, 03/27/2010 - 3:13pm #271270
QUINCEYebanks reminds me of ariza so much before ariza had that deep ball. and we have seen this tournament what happens when bledsoe isnt hitting that jumper. hes not a lotto factor. defense is good though
0 - Posted on: Sat, 03/27/2010 - 3:14pm #271271
knicksfan7ParticipantSeeing this is great, even with breaking all the rules Calipari still can’t win it all. I know Quincey is going to lecture me about Calipari, but I don’t mind debating with him there, lolz. Calipari needs a guy like Sergio “the deer” rodgriguez in order to win.
0 - Posted on: Sat, 03/27/2010 - 3:14pm #271272
IndianaBasketballParticipantHe definitely has the potential to be a superstar… No question about that. I’m just not as sure as some people that he will be. Some people just automatically assume that he’ll be a top five point guard within a couple of seasons. I’m not so sure. He has a lot of work to do. More than people realize.
0 - Posted on: Sat, 03/27/2010 - 3:19pm #271274
IndianaBasketballParticipantBledsoe is Kyle Lowry 2.0.
Ariza is a good comparison for Ebanks. He kind of looks like him too.
0 - Posted on: Sat, 03/27/2010 - 3:21pm #271276
IndianaBasketballParticipantI don’t think Wall is as good as Rose was as a freshman.
W.V. needs to stop playing the scoreboard. UK still has a small chance to win this game.
0 - Posted on: Sat, 03/27/2010 - 3:22pm #271277
QUINCEYlol..naw im not gonna lecture you since the proof is the players broke the rules not coach cal. im more of a proof guy before i condem a guy
the deer would be scared out of his mind. hed make some flashy moves and then turn it over..lol
suprised you dont talk about huggins..hes another one who is known to be shady
0- Posted on: Sat, 03/27/2010 - 3:27pm #271281
knicksfan7ParticipantI don’t know Huggins’ record, but I know he doesn’t graduate guys which is bad, but not breaking any rules.

IndianaBasketballParticipantCall me naive, but… Coach Cal has never been proven to be a cheater, so you have to respect that.
0- Posted on: Sat, 03/27/2010 - 3:29pm #271283
knicksfan7ParticipantTezo, OJ was never proven of murder, do you respect that?? Yeah you can say murder and illegally recruiting players are two different things, but I am talking about the principle of it.
0
- Posted on: Sat, 03/27/2010 - 3:30pm #271284
JNixonParticipantThe thing about Wall to me is he’s so good, but so raw at the same time. That shows you just how much upside he has. To be as good and dominant as he’s been despite not having range on your shot, not being a great decision maker, and being gameplanned against every night. It shows you he’ll be good.
0 - Posted on: Sat, 03/27/2010 - 3:33pm #271285
QUINCEYare you really comparing oj and coach cal knick?..thats alow blow even for you..one had a trail and evidence. theres is zero evidence for coach cal.. youre case wouldnt even make it to court. the only thing you could say is” i think he did this or that” and they would ask “well do you have direct knowledge or were you part of the basketball team or know cal personally” and you would say ” no but i watch him on tv” judge-“get this guy out of my court room”
0 - Posted on: Sat, 03/27/2010 - 3:33pm #271286
IndianaBasketballParticipantHonestly… Yes, I do respect it. He went to trial and wasn’t convicted. You have to respect that. That’s the way the LEGAL system works.
0 - Posted on: Sat, 03/27/2010 - 3:37pm #271289
IndianaBasketballParticipantLOL @Quincey. “Get this guy out of my courtroom!”
@Iggy… When you look at John Wall, do you feel you KNOW he’s going to be a superstar?
0 - Posted on: Sat, 03/27/2010 - 3:39pm #271290
knicksfan7ParticipantQuincey that would be pretty funny if I showed up at a court room and said that to the judge. Tezo, you are right about that. Though, isn’t it fishy that Coach Cal had 2 final four appearances vacated, I know vacated means nothing, but to get vacated means something. Calipari has kept his tracks clean enough where he has not got in any serious trouble.
0 - Posted on: Sat, 03/27/2010 - 3:40pm #271291
IndianaBasketballParticipantOn another note… It’s sad to see all of the swagger, arrogance and cockiness sucked out of Kentucky right now. Looking at Wall and Cousins on the bench.
0 - Posted on: Sat, 03/27/2010 - 3:42pm #271293
knicksfan7ParticipantI feel bad for the players on Kentucky they played hard, and had an off night.
0 - Posted on: Sat, 03/27/2010 - 3:42pm #271294
QUINCEYgotta realize it doesnt take the coach to know for the players to do something fishy. i cant ever rememeber mine or any college coach setting up the s.a.t for a player. the hs coach has more control over that then the college coach
0 - Posted on: Sat, 03/27/2010 - 3:43pm #271296
QUINCEYand if theres anyone to think of that could be blamed other then rose is his brothers. they know every single thing that goes on with him and they set everything up for him while he was in hs
0- Posted on: Sat, 03/27/2010 - 3:47pm #271302
knicksfan7ParticipantCalipari knew Rose had some dirty laundry, and he could have avoided that by simply not recruiting him, and saying I am not dealing with the trouble to hurt my legacy. Winning means more to him than Integrity, and I have a problem with that.
0
- Posted on: Sat, 03/27/2010 - 3:45pm #271299
knicksfan7ParticipantBobby Knight a few months back said that he doesn’t coach because where the integrity of the game is gone, and specifically targeted Calipari. Yes it is true Calipari has never been caught, but to me questioned over and over and the organization being more crooked only makes it tougher. When Calipari was asked about it he dodged it when he could have made a statement, but he knew if he did he would have been in trouble. I don’t know why he left Memphis when they offered him more money, and as soon as he left they got that season vacated, hmmm.
0 - Posted on: Sat, 03/27/2010 - 3:48pm #271303
IndianaBasketballParticipantIn my opinion, Coach Cal is a scoundrel. I don’t think he’s ever cheated, but I think he’s pretended as if he didn’t know the things that were going on. I question his integrity.
0- Posted on: Sat, 03/27/2010 - 3:50pm #271305
gregoden08ParticipantEverybody does…Coach Cal…Don’t have any respect for the guy.
0 - Posted on: Sat, 03/27/2010 - 3:50pm #271308
knicksfan7ParticipantTezo the way you said it is probably what I am trying to say. I can definitely believe he has never committed anything illegal, but has known everything illegal that is going on, but doesn’t have a real part in it except once he has the player on his team.
0
- Posted on: Sat, 03/27/2010 - 3:50pm #271306
IndianaBasketballParticipantI think Pete Carrol is a scoundrel too. Turning a blind eye to and overlooking things purposely may not be considered cheating, but it doesn’t look good as far as integrity goes.
0 - Posted on: Sat, 03/27/2010 - 3:50pm #271307
JNixonParticipantI think he’s gonna be a superstar. Yea. I don’t think he will be as a rookie though. I expect him to have a Brandon Jennings like rookie year, and then I think he’ll break out big time in his 2nd and 3rd seasons.
WVU’s defense and unexpectedly their shooting helped them in this one. Mazulla stepped up big time too
0 - Posted on: Sat, 03/27/2010 - 3:52pm #271311
knicksfan7ParticipantIf I had a player that was getting recruited by Coach Cal, I would rather him play under a coach with integrity rather than a guy like Coach Cal who is notorious for being in the spot light for illegal recruiting.
0 - Posted on: Sat, 03/27/2010 - 3:53pm #271312
JNixonParticipantI genuinely believe you have to be naive or just trying to starting an argument if you don’t think Calipari has been apart of the foul play his players get caught in.
0 - Posted on: Sat, 03/27/2010 - 3:53pm #271313
IndianaBasketballParticipantCoach Cal is like the dude who knows he’s buying stolen goods, but pretends he didn’t know they were stolen when the cops bust in.
0 - Posted on: Sat, 03/27/2010 - 3:54pm #271314
JNixonParticipant^Great analogy Tezo lol
0 - Posted on: Sat, 03/27/2010 - 3:55pm #271316
knicksfan7ParticipantTezo with the clutch analogy.
0 - Posted on: Sat, 03/27/2010 - 3:56pm #271320
OldSkoolBasketballParticipantThe only team I had left making in the final 4 is WV lol.
0 - Posted on: Sat, 03/27/2010 - 3:57pm #271321
JNixonParticipantYea me too. ha
0 - Posted on: Sat, 03/27/2010 - 4:00pm #271325
IndianaBasketballParticipantThat’s the best way to describe him.
I remember when I was a kid… I used to have this friend who somehow NEVER managed to get his hands dirty lol. He was always able to find people to do the dirty work for him, while he reaped all of the benefits. Eventually… He got caught though. He ended up serving three years in prison.
The moral of the story is, that after awhile… Everybody ends up getting caught. It’s only a matter of time for Coach Cal.
0 - Posted on: Sat, 03/27/2010 - 4:01pm #271322
knicksfan7ParticipantLet me just get this across there are many coaches I like, and a select few that I don’t like. I like guys like Coach K, Bob Knight, Roy Williams, Jim Boeheim, Brad Stevens, Jim Calhoun, Gary Williams, Tom Izzo, Bill Self, Bruce Pearl, Jim Larranaga, Jay Wright, Frank Martin, the list goes on an on. I know some of these guys may have low graduation rates, but I don’t blame coaches for that because they can only do so much, and if the people above don’t care about the athletes it makes it harder.
0 - Posted on: Sat, 03/27/2010 - 4:08pm #271330
IndianaBasketballParticipantMy bracket is looking very good. Other than Kansas, I’m good. I have Butler, West Virginia and Duke in the Final Four. I’m picking Tennessee to beat Michigan State.
I had Kansas winning it all. Now I think Butler will play West Virginia in the Championship. Should be an interesting game. West Virginia will have the length, but Butler will have the homecourt advantage and they’re going to have a HUGE HUGE turnout.
0 - Posted on: Sat, 03/27/2010 - 4:10pm #271332
knicksfan7ParticipantTezo I thought you had Butler losing to UTEP, when did you have Butler in the final four???
0 - Posted on: Sat, 03/27/2010 - 4:11pm #271334
IndianaBasketballParticipantNaw… I had trouble making that pick, remember? I ended up picking Butler in the end after Llperez22 gave his expert advice lol.
0- Posted on: Sat, 03/27/2010 - 4:15pm #271342
knicksfan7ParticipantTezo you’re saying that as long as Butler got past UTEP you had no worries about them the rest of way?? Well you made a great choice then, should have listened as well. I am hoping Butler can win it all to open up doors that will never be closed for the mid-majors of the world.

QUINCEYgotta be naive to think any of these coaches havent either done something wrong or knew about something that was being done to be honest….dean, coach k, etc. but thinking someone did something and proving it is 2 different things.
0 - Posted on: Sat, 03/27/2010 - 4:14pm #271341
QUINCEYnew jersey…nice… we played a coupel of good schools out there when i was in hs….patterson,st ants
0 - Posted on: Sat, 03/27/2010 - 4:15pm #271343
JNixonParticipantI think all coaches do some stuff that’s not fair. Calipari just gets caught up more than everyone else.
0 - Posted on: Sat, 03/27/2010 - 4:16pm #271345
IndianaBasketballParticipantI was really worried about the Utep game, but I came to the conclusion that Butler’s shooting and execution would get them through. Llperez22 predicted Mack would get hot and he did!
After picking Butler vs Utep, the rest was easy for me. I always felt they’d beat SU because SU plays the zone and doesn’t pressure the ball. I felt they could beat Kansas State because I’d always felt Kansas State would eventually get tired from their style of play. I just felt Butler was the most consistent team and the only team that did it with defense and execution. They also don’t have any ego’s on offense really. They move the ball and are unselfish.
0 - Posted on: Sat, 03/27/2010 - 4:18pm #271348
knicksfan7ParticipantTezo, hopefully Hayward stays so I can see him and the rest of that team do damage when I come out to see them play next year.
0 - Posted on: Sat, 03/27/2010 - 4:18pm #271349
OrangeJuiceJonesParticipantThanks. I’m being serious. I was overweight my entire 4 years of high school, but the worst part is that I wasn’t even supposed to graduate on time.
0- Posted on: Sat, 03/27/2010 - 4:21pm #271353
knicksfan7ParticipantOkay. Well at least you did graduate on time, so you proved others wrong. Hopefully you get to play ball on the college level if you work hard. If you get to play D1 can you shout out to forum members of NBAdraft.net???
0
- Posted on: Sat, 03/27/2010 - 4:26pm #271359
IndianaBasketballParticipantThe good thing about Butler is they have most of their core players returning, except Veasley I think. They also have a good recruiting class coming in. No 5 Star recruits, but players that work hard and fit their system.
0- Posted on: Sat, 03/27/2010 - 4:27pm #271364
knicksfan7ParticipantI think they’ll do fine w/o Veasley he was undersized, and if they make a stronger OOC for next season they will need bigger bodies.
0
- Posted on: Sat, 03/27/2010 - 4:28pm #271366
IndianaBasketballParticipantHow much did you weigh in high school lol?
0 - Posted on: Sat, 03/27/2010 - 4:45pm #271395
OrangeJuiceJonesParticipantLol, yeah, sure. That would make a hell of a story though.
0- Posted on: Sat, 03/27/2010 - 4:46pm #271398
knicksfan7ParticipantYo I am listening the song by the artist of your user name, such a great song. I think if you go on a streetball circuit that is your name, OrangeJuiceJones.

OrangeJuiceJonesParticipantIn high school, I was everywhere between 210-250 and only 5’9. I’m 6’1 and 190 now, I’m trying to get down to 180. Either that, or put on some muscle.
0- Posted on: Sat, 03/27/2010 - 5:03pm #271426
knicksfan7ParticipantDamn, good thing you have your weight under control now. I am like 5’8″ and it fluctuates between 190-200, but I would love to be 170 and in ball playing shape.

OrangeJuiceJonesParticipantHere’s the website I used to lose weight:
You’ll have to create an account on livestrong.com to use it, but it’s totally worth it. That site helped me so much. It’s amazing how few people know about it though. Every time I tell someone about the site, they say that they never heard of it before.
0 - Posted on: Sat, 03/27/2010 - 5:11pm #271437
knicksfan7ParticipantOJJ, never heard of it before, I will give it a look though.
