SubZeroParticipantAnyone else super excited for this matchup? Noel’s elite athleticism and defense vs. Zeller’s polished offensive skills, should be one of the best big man matchups we’ve seen in years

HaleParticipantZeller should win it easily. Offensively Noel is ultra raw despite his athleticism so it’s not really an advantage for him. Zeller is very skilled in the post and Noel always goes for the block and bites on everything. Zeller should abuse him, he played solid against AD twice and AD is far above Noel.

SubZeroParticipantHopefully Noel can progress with his post skills by then, because I agree with you, he is very raw. Nonetheless, these 2 are 2 of the top 3 prospects for next year so it should be a great watch

HaleParticipantPersonally I have Noel as my #4 prospect, but if Cal can teach him a thing or two around the rim then it would make it a more compelling matchup.

raybeasParticipantCoach Cal robbed us of this matchup by cancelling the IUvUK series.
I agree Zeller would win a one-on-one matchup with his advanced post game.
I get that Noel has potential, but I don’t see how his 12 and 7 game in high school translates to the college level, let alone the pros. He’s got length, but 215lbs is not enough bulk to bang with any decent college C.

UNCbasketballbumParticipantI think Noel is probably the most overrated prospect we have had in a long long time. UK fans are expecting him to have an Anthony Davis type impact his freshman year and they are going to be SORELY dossappointed. He’s so raw offensively and doesn’t have any strength. Cody might not be the athlete Noel is, but he’s so much more polished and skilled than Noel.

HaleParticipantHe’s not even the best UK freshman imo. I could see him being the 4th leading scorer on the team next year behind Poythress, Goodwin and Harrow.

IndianaBasketballParticipantNot seeing it with Noel

derrickrose231Participanti think he will be almost as good or equal to davis on defense but offensively he probaly wont put up more then 10 points a game this year alot like drummond.

earldaniel31Participantthe thing about Drummond.. he may be raw but he’s really BIG.. HUGE.. plus athletic.. he can bang inside.. Noel might break his bones when he runs into Drummond

earldaniel31ParticipantNoel will be decent at the most, he’ll get his blocks, i doubt he contributes in the offensive end maybe putbacks & couple of alley-oops other than he is ver raw.. nothing spectacular.. if he comes out after 1 season.. i think he’ll be a bust in the NBA..
Zeller will win this battle no question..

Codyb1701ParticipantBoth are lottery picks but both are being over rated, Noel could be a game changer, key word could because NOONE nkows. Zeller though is Chis Kayman 2.0.
0- Posted on: Fri, 07/06/2012 - 6:07pm #692891
HaleParticipantKaman has averaged 12 and 8 in his career and one year averaged 18.5 and 9 and another averaged nearly 16 and 13 while sharing touches down low with Elton Brand. So if I get a rich man’s more mobile version of that I won’t complain.

earldaniel31ParticipantNoel is getting over rated also..

river09ParticipantI really think that Cody Zeller is a better athlete than people give him credit for…

Shanetaylor95Participantmaybe , but he is not at nerlens level as in athleticism

TripleDoubleScoutParticipantThis thread is just down right disrespectful. Anyone who actually watched Indiana play last year knows zeller is one if the best center prospects since d Howard came out of high school. Noel (who is a good prospect also) didn’t even dominate high school. Seriously…

Shanetaylor95Participantis he a better prospect than oden was ?

SubZeroParticipantLol I didn’t mean I think Noel would win against him at all, cuz I’m one who believes Zeller should go no doubt top 2 next year, I’m just saying I’m looking forward to it
