These are just a few new comparisons for the predicted lottery players… Im sure that people are going to disagree with me about a few comparisons but here it is:

John Wall – Im not making a Wall comparison.. Personally, I think he will be a great PG but Rose is the only guy that plays like him.. However, I dont think he will be like Rose… No comparison..

Evan Turner – Grant Hill – Good size, can do almost anything.. Hill, in his prime was a great SG/SF who could play a little point but you werent utilizing him by playing him there. Hill was primarily a slasher but could hit open shots.. He got rebounds and got his team involved.. Also, he was a pretty good defender…

Derrick Favors – Stromile Swift – This is one that I think everyone will disagree with.. He was a good athlete and had a couple of years that were pretty good.. He could rebound but couldnt really score in the NBA because he was playing against guys that were stronger and just as athletic.. He didnt have a jumper so he could never really be effective… I think Favors will be better than Swift but he will be that type of player… Swift’s best year, he averaged 12 and 7.. I can see Favors’ best year being 16 and 8 simply because he is a better athlete.. I just am not sold on Favors yet…

Wesley Johnson – Stephen Jackson – Jackson is a pretty good athlete and a pretty good defender. He can shoot, score, pass and do a little rebounding.. He is a good role player. He had a couple years with the Warriors where he averaged 20 points per game but dont let that fool ya.. That was just because of the system he was in… He had a few years where he was scoring right at 16-17 points per game with 3-4 assist and 3-4 rebounds… Like I said, a good role player with some all around game but nothing speical.

Greg Monroe – Kevin Garnett (Boston) – He wont bring that intensity that Garnett has but he will put up similar numbers that Garnett did in Boston.. Somewhere around 17 points per game, close to 10 rebounds and 3-4 assist… He is going to be a special player if he develops.. He could be like nothing we have in the league.. I see him somewhere between Pau Gasol and Garnett (Boston)..

Patrick Patterson – Paul Milsap – When Milsap was getting close to starter time, 30 minutes a game, he was getting around 14 points and 9 rebounds.. This is how I see Patterson.. He is hard, stern, strong, mature and knows the game.. If he gets in a pick-n-roll system with good PG, his ability to shoot and his willingness to bang, will make him a serviceable PF. You pretty much know what you are getting in Patterson and that is a guy that is going to hide his shortcomings with hard work…

DeMarcus Cousins – Shaquille O’Neal (Miami) – Cousins is a big, big, body with some skill. He wont be Shaq but he will be Old Shaq.. In Miami, he had a great supporting cast and a budding superstar to work with.. There, he averaged 20 points, 10 rebounds, a couple assist and a couple blocks.. Cousins could do this as long as he works to get better and keeps his head out of the gutter….

Al-Farouq Aminu – Andrei Kirilenko – A great defender who can play both F positions.. Had a few good years when he was all by himself.. Average jumper and sometimes a good passer.. Mainly a defender and someone that a championship team would love to have… However, not a guy that you can even think about building a team around.

Hassan Whiteside – Andrew Bynum (more mobile) – Andrew Bynum took 3 years to become a good player and still has potential to be great… This is Whiteside.. He is more mobile and probably has a better jumper than Bynum and is obviously more mobile.. Whiteside, like Bynum, will be good but it will take some time.

Xavier Henry – John Salmons – It took John Salmons a long time to figure out that he was good and how to play the NBA game.. It wont take Xavier that long.. He already has the body and has a good shot but he has to learn, like Salmons did, to create his own shot.. He is going to come in and make shots, play solid defense and play smart.. That will be his role when he first gets to the NBA but eventually, he will be asked to be a 20 point scorer… And he will do it..

This is a little different look at players.. What do you all think?

I finally found someone who does not compare Xavier Henry to Allan Houston! But I do like your comparison for Xavier, and you were also right in I do agree pretty much will the comparisons you made, did pretty well on it except I don’t like the Derrick Favors comparison but you saw that coming.

I See Derek Favors as a Kenyon Martin type player? anyone agree with that.

I also liked the X. Henry like John Salmons.
Hassan Whiteside IMO is nothing like Andrew Bynum because A Bynum is a big body
    unlike Whiteside(lankey)

    Xavier Henry=Martell Webster

    Hassan Whiteside= Samuel Dalembert

DeMarcus Cousins=Eddy Curry. Cousins plays below the rim much more than Shaq, even in Shaq’s late career he was more of an above the rim guy than Cousins.

I like the Evan Turner comparison to Grant Hill. Hill was taller, longer and a lot more athletic though. Grant Hill was a superstar.

I don’t like the Wesley Johnson to Stephen Jackson comparison. He doesn’t handle the ball like Jackson, which will be all the difference. He can’t create his own offense or for others like Jackson can. Jackson was basically a point forward in Golden State.

I think DeMarcus Cousins is comparable to Andrew Bynum.

I think Derrick Favors is comparable to Amare Stoudemire

I think Greg Monroe is comparable to Vlade Divac

Derrick Favors is nothing like Stromile Swift because he is bigger, stronger, and a lil more athletic. But the main reason he is nothing like Swift is because he is a smart hard working kid who will find a way to be successful in this league. I think Xavier Henry reminds me more of Joe Johnson then anybody. I’m from Philly, i knew about Salmons before he went to Miami and he could never shoot the ball, he was always more of a cerbral slasher in fact in Salmons compares to anybody in this draft it is definitely Evan Turner both have around the same amount of athleticism except Salmons is longer and Tuner is quicker. And that PacersFan cant seriously think Wesley Johnson will b like Troy Murphy…wtf? Anyways the rest were pretty good comparisons and i personally see Greg Monroe as another Marc Gasol.

    Grant Hill was super athletic

Jackson knocked down jumpers in San Antonio but obvious stats were down
He is also average close to 20 for the Bobcat who play at a slower pace

Jackson is more a jack of all trades kind of guy and that does not really fit Johnson

You could compare Turner to Jackson and come closer cept Jack is a better shooter defender.

Guys, like I said, this is a different look at the players..

I do think that as soon as Whiteside gets drafted, he will be forced to gain weight…

Henry will be forced to learn to create for himself..

Johnson is just like Jackson, IMO.. Jackson wasnt always a point forward… To start his career, he was a role player for SA… Then he was a scorer for Indiana.. Then, after like 8 years in the league, he learned how to be a PG in the run and run and run and shoot and shoot and shoot system that is Nellieball… Jax isnt a leader either, he has come out and said that…

Also, I do like the Martell Webster comparison for Henry…

I said that I thought Favors would be better than Swift its just that he is that type of player… I dont like the Kenyon Martin comparison because he doesnt have that mean streak that Martin has… That is the only reason that Martin is the player that he is…

Stephen Jackson is not a role player…
I dont really like the Andre bynum to Hassan Whiteside
And Aminu is much more athletic than Kirelinko

I like alot of your comparisons. I like the Favors one…but I think it will be a worst case thing for him. I think anything between K-Mart and Swift seems solid. Amare comparison is a cop out because they are the same size and both dunk alot…theres more to bball.

I like the Greg Monroe comparison alot, I personally think Monroe could be anything from Pau Gasol to Lamarcus Aldridge. I think Monroe will be the 2nd or 3rd best player in this draft class.

the Patterson to Millsap is spot on!

I like the Aminu to Kirelinko comparison also…I never thought of AK 47 for a comparable player to him, but now that its in my head it fits pretty nicely.

Personally I think Whiteside will be a little better offensively version of Tyson Chandler. But Bynum comparison is solid looking at what Bynum was like at that age…its a bit of a long shot though.
