valentinewhatsup fellas of this site. the NO hornets has not been mentioned much on here. yes, darren collison and thornton and cp3 have been mentioned but the hornets as a whole has not. but ive been thinking, the hornets should seriously make a move to get either rip hamilton or tayshaun prince. or possibly both.
possible trades:
david west and marcus thornton FOR rip hamilton and tayshaun prince
Then… in the draft the hornets go after a offensive foward to fill the void of West
so the hornets 2010/2011 roster would look like
chris paul
rip hamilton
tayshaun prince
(Draft Pick: lets say Donatas)
Emeka Okaforthat team to me seriously looks like a contender!
go easy on me 🙂

KevinDurantRocksParticipantThis team is not a contender. Both rip and Hamilton are former shades of the past day in Detroit. Okafor did not play well with the team either .

Steven…you think rip and tayshaun are washed up, even if they got a change of scenery? i disagree man, i think they both have enough to contribute, espicially when they have a guy named cp3, arguably the best pg in the L. but, u could be right, they might be done, in which case, they wouldnt be all that good… btw emeka okafor played ok, and if they were to get those players, he wouldnt have to do anything but block a couple of shots and rebound.

Tongue-Out-Like-23ParticipantWhy do they need Rip and Prince?
All that’s going to do is add 2 other old wing players to the list ofSo the Hornets 2010/2011 roster would look like
Peterson (33yrs)
Posey (33yrs)
Stojakovic (33yrs)
Prince (31yrs)
Hamilton (32yrs)
Marks (35yrs)
Songaila (32yrs)for an age of 28.3 years of age as a team.
take out Wright, Paul, Collison30 years of age.
They really need to rebuild. Nobody wants to see another superstars get his career destroyed because of the lack of good players.
Throw CP3 on the list with Iverson, Barkley, and Ewing..etc. as very talented players without a ring.

Stevenall the players u just named cant even compare to rip and prince… and then they might be old, but theyd still have young pieces: cp3, their draft pick, collison (even more trade bait) emeka is still fairly young i believe (27) they could still be rebuilding… its not taking away from them trying to rebuild my friend!

Stevenlisten, im not saying bringing in prince and hamilton… there future looks great, im saying if they want to get back into the playoffs and make a push this year and next year they go get those guys. i truly feel they both need to get out of detroit and find themselves a new home. new orleans would be great. just my opinion.

Tongue-Out-Like-23Participantwell.. maybe if all the players I mentioned before, if their contracts ended at about the same time.. about 2 years difference. they can quietly rebuild as the Philadelphia Eagles did in the NFL.. they rebuilt without anybody noticing.

dmo21Participanti think the pistons would rather have okafor instead of west cause they are lacking a center, but i like the idea of rip or prince, both can still play and rip is better with a true pg which he will have with cp3, and maybe the hornets can dump some of those old guys with okafor to get him..

Stevenwow, if the pistons would rather have emeka that would be even better for the hornets… theyd get to keep an all star foward, and then draft a center this year such as a greg monroe, ed davis (considered a C? idk) daniel orton, etc etc.

Steven… btw then heres what the line ups would look like with a few adjustments:
Chris Paul/Darren Collison
Rip Hamilton/Peja Stojacovic
Tayshaun Prince/James Posey
David West/ 2nd round draft pick
Daniel Orton/Sean Marks (?)0 - Posted on: Sun, 05/09/2010 - 5:45pm #309575

dmo21Participanti think rip would be better on the hornets with cp3, but do they want him there if he is gonna stunt the growth of Thornton.. Prince might not produce as much but he can play along side Thornton and his contract is shorter than Rip’s.. They would definitely have to draft and/or sign a free agent Center as they would only have Gray left lol.

RickyRubio9ParticipantIf you’re an Hornets fan & you expect Rip & Prince to help elevate that team you are wrong..
Rip & Prince now have an injury history & they’re up there in age. If I’m the Hornets I’d keep Thornton or maybe package my draft pick along with Collison or Marcus to move up to a higher slot. I honestly believe keeping Okafor, CP3, & West is the best move for them to do. I don’t think they’d get value anyways. Okafor especially..0 - Posted on: Sun, 05/09/2010 - 5:53pm #309590

dmo21Participantthem being hurt can come and go, and i think Prince had one of the longest streaks in playing in the most consecutive games until he got hurt last season, so he doesnt have much of a injury history, other than looking like he might snap in half.

sheltwon3ParticipantWhy would New Orleans do that. It is tough in the West and they would do better to get younger talent than to make a move like that and still fall short. After their bad contracts are up this year they could possibly move Posey or Okafor and the rest of their team are on decent contracts. Mo pete and Peja contracts are up after this season. Okafor does give you production and big men are not that easy to find so he could stay. Posey has given them nothing he needs to go. collison can be had because with Paul, it would be hard for him to get minutes so after this season maybe Hornets could get Melo or someone because they will have cap space but I think if Melo leaves Denver it is for New York though.

kobyzParticipantthis trade might be good for both teams: Hamilton, Prince, Jerebko and Bynum for Peja, Peterson, Collison and the eleven pick.
Detroit gets expring contract and great assets to rebuild, after the draft Detroit could look like this:
Stuckey/Collison
Gordon/Peterson
Daye/Summers/Stojakovic
Greg Monroe(seventh pick)/Villanueva
Hassan Whiteside(eleventh pick)/Maxiell/Wilcox.
.
.
.
New Orleans give Paul two very good Players to help him win and also a young talent, meybe it could make them contender:
Paul/Bynum
Hamilton/Thornton
Prince/Posey/Wright
West/Jerebko
