Always interesting to go back and look at these things. Here was another one where myself and JoeWolf1 said it was probably better for him to come off the bench as a scoring option.

Think that people are much too obsessed with guys "starting" and such. Of course some players should start, but I think really good teams that have the option of bringing in offense off of the bench have been doing so for quite a while, with great success. At times it is great to have the option to bring another player who can create a shot on your second line, look at the Spurs/Mavs teams with Ginobili and Terry.
Those guys easily could have and sometimes did start. Most of the time, they came off of the bench, provided instant offense and still played a good 30 minutes plus. The key is minutes played, not playing them at the beginning of the first and third quarter. Norris Cole is not Ginobili or Terry, but he does play a nice role for the Heat’s second unit. He definitely has things to work on and will have to be far more consistent to justify starting, he just can at times create his own offense, where it is more difficult for Chalmers to do so. All in all, think he had just had a great game against the Celtics and most of us (myself included) got a tad over excited.

RUDEBOY_ParticipantLol…I saw him play him high school and saw most of his college games…I remember telling people after his jr. year that he had the stuff to be a nba player..When he got off to that hot start to begin his rookie year..I guess i was a little excited to see my boy doing well…He does have the talent to be a starting point guard in the nba….And might have better stats if he wasnt playing with so many stars….But he’s not as good as Irving..
