Seems he is finally getting his chance to show how valuable he is, averaging 18 per game, with two back to back 30 point games….has Mayo found a home in Dallas?

I’ve always been a fan of his, from he was at USC.  He needs to be in a enviroment with lots of vets to keep him in check.  Paired with Tony Allen in Memphis wasn’t a good look for him.

Both he and Darren Collison seems to have gotten back on track from their early success as rookies.

I was always a fan of his, he’s finlly getting that chance, in a way I compare his pro career a little to reggie bushs. not much success their first 4 or so years, but came to a place where they started and has shown their talent, bush became a very good running back in miami, and i feel mayo will become a very good scorer in dallas. Not quite up to their expectations when they got drafted, but for sure not total busts

dallas is a great team for him. i have been a fan of him too. he just needed some other great players around him. that way he does not have to try to drop 25 every night. he can know that there are other scoring options when he is having a bad night. i think its just a better fit in every way. dallas knows how to win in the nba and now hes gonna experience that too. its a real confidence booster.

I feel really stupid right now, after his two ineffective games I panic traded him and Nene for Eric Gordon. OJ’s absense hasn’t hurt me yet, but the lesson here is never to write anyone off after two games. But I’m really glad he found the right team, hopefully he can continue to strive and mesh with Dirk when he gets back.

Love what he is doing in Dallas. I hope he can do in Dallas what Ray Allen did in Seattle and hopefully he will have a bit more support to compete for championship. I have been waiting for another great 3point shooter ala Reggie/Ray (went to Boston not cool) to watch and enjoy so hope it is him in Dallas.

After an impressive rookie year most people in the media tagged him as 1 of the nba’s up & coming stars…But once they got Randolph and Gasol surprisingly blossomed into a star,Mayo’s role in Memphis changed…Hollins used him as mostly as the 4th option ….Which meant he had to sacrifice his game.He played well in that role, but he’s much better then that…

As a Memphis fan,i hate to see him go,because none of the guys they signed during the summer is better than him……

If he keeps playing well, its going to see what type of deal he’ll get next summer…Because his stock had fell so low, that Memphis couldnt give him away…..

Is a tool. snm. Its still early but how can you not pair an outside threat like him with the twin towers I dont kmow but Im only a nba 2k coach lol.

I was so shocked he signed for so little , I really hope he can keep it up. Its all confidence, Hollins killed his. Although he always said the right thing he desperately need to get out of there.

I’ve said once the he tweeted that he is moving to Dallas, the Mavs are great fit for him ,coach Rick Carlisle has been always good in fixing players career ,he got the best of many players b4 with the team and felt he was gonna get the best out of Mayo ,love how OJ and Collison has been playing in the past 4 games

It’s real simple. He has his confidence back in his jump shot. He lost it in Memphis.
