All24Day7ParticipantWith Tyson Chandler coming to Okc the Thunder are getting a defensive minded player to come in with a good nucleus of players already with westbrook, durant, and green. Also with multiple 1st round draft picks they got a chance to add good depth to their team.Do you think next year they will have a chance to compete for the playoffs?

A. StockFor A Guy With Chandler’s Physical Gifts, There Is NO WAY He Should ONLY Be Averaging Around 1.4 Blocks Per Game. He Seems To Not Give A Crap On Defense, Actually. Any Center With Consistent Range On His Jump Shot Just Makes Chandler Play Defense Away From The Basket, Severely Diminishing His Capabilities Of Playing Effective Defense. Nonetheless, A Good Pick-Up For The Thunder. After Many Long Seasons Without Having A Low Post Pressence, They Finally Have A Big Guy Who Has Some NBA Experience While Also Only Being 26 Years Old.

A. StockAbout Them Making A Push For The Playoffs Next Year… They Still Need A Point Guard. That Is A Void That Can Be Filled In The Upcoming Draft, So If They Make A Nice Pick In The Draft, I Can See Mr. Durant’s Team Competing For The Playoffs As Soon As Next Season.

T.O-BALLER___They have a solid young team. They have to gain experience in order to compete in the highly skilled western conference. I really dont know what they need through the draft, they may even trade there highest pick.

ClutchlevanceAs good as that trade was to get rid of Garbo for chandler they have no point guard and there bench is awwwwdul. I would not take even one of those guys to start on a horeible Asian team. They may be a500 team but they r just too raw. Nobody on that team wants to pass theball. And out of all the players mentioned on the bench I think I will laugh at collison. My gosh he is awful. Honestly if I saw zizi Wang rolling around I would ask him to start over collison. Watson is a dec backup amnd Wilkins is aight nothin special. No matter how good they get this is the west not the east so u have to b legit to do somethin. Nick collisison good……HAHA

Hoop FreakZParticipanti think its a move in the right direction but i think they have to let players like westbrook, durant and green still develop their game. In due time, i think this will be a team to be reckoning with. A lot of players with high ceilings and probably get more with 3 draft picks in the first round

Stevedotthey need a dominat big man
tyson chandler a uprgade but he isnt really wat they need
he should get more blocks and rebounds but hey they got a defense of presence now
they were a good defensive team now there a great defensive team
this draft they need
dont need a center or a small foward they can upgrade with a shooting gaurd perferable a passing shooting gaurd harden
that way durant can drop a large amout of points without being effected by chemistry
wat im saying is they need a player that doesnt give a team the iverson effect look at Detroit
there out of sync they once was a contenderi undertand y
they passed up bayless even tho i wan ted him to go there they wanted a point gaurd not a scoring gaurd like baylessaverging
29 points in the summer leauge
so they get a passing gaurd
ether to play the 1 or 2
or griffin
plus they will attract free agency so if they have a choice to pick harden or griffin i would pick griffin
and get a gaurd in free agency
they will b a contender i said this last season
but i doubt they would have bayless……….

bobbygillerOKC has an unbelievable core of talent with Durant, Green and Westbrook and adding Chandler today moves them a step further in the team’s development. They also have a few solid bench guys in Collison and Krstic, however, this team needs to focus on becoming a .500 team before they set their sights on the playoffs. Wait until they use their three 1st-round picks this year, their two more that they have next year and then add one of the many stars in the 2010 free agent class, then they’ll be a playoff team and a damn good one at that.

Stevedotdurant is a beast
hes going to dominat like lebron mark my words
more as he gets older and
gets STRONGER
he versiatle like mcgrady and can play a few more postions then him
mcgrady is a better playmaker
but durat is more aggrissive
i look at him like a mcgrady/garnett without the d and the gotos and post
but hes young and can deveop the post and goto moves

billykParticipantChandler is a decent defensive player thats overrated all OKC needs is for Durant Westbrook and Green to play together for a few more years and take some lumps ala Jordans Bulls and they will be championship contenders

Clutchlevanceplease u cannot tell me with a straight face that nick collison is good
and for them to be a playoff team in the WEST they need more than tyson chandler in a trade
for them to compete with a team like the lakers with a mediocre point guard, durant who i agree is a freak, jeff green who is good and westbrook who is good is a very big stretch
if they have a very good draft they may be able to compete for the 8th spot with teams like the suns
but never will they compete with the lakers if they have kobe pau and bynum
lets say they had a point guard like brandon jennings, then maybe mark them in over 500 but its not all going to happen in one year
they are a very young raw team-wathc out for them in around 3 years when they all mature into good players.0 - Posted on: Wed, 02/18/2009 - 4:41am #141947

BigBadBoogieParticipantOKC is fine as long as they have the beast KEVIN DURANT
0 - Posted on: Wed, 02/18/2009 - 6:04am #141951
don042488ParticipantIf the OKC Thunder could now get a power forward and shooting guard, their set. Drafting Blake Griffin, Greg Monroe, or Jordan Hill with their first draft pick and drafting either Chase Budinger, Wayne Ellington,Terrence Williams, or Danny Green would be good.

StevedotClutchlevance your rite about the point gaurd thing
chris paul,deron,devin harris,jemmear,derrick rose,rondo,parker
there all differnce makers when there aggrsive
jennings would b a waste of a pick for okc they already have a point gaurd to develope that was a high draft pick
no.4see if the would have took bayless thats auotmatic aggrsiveness and like 8 trips to the chairty strip
differnce maker
westbrook is explosive and has a lil offensive game not alot of ppl knew about
but bayless gets to the line at will aggresiveness
it will help u get points and take
put the other teams starters on the bench wich is big help
but bayless hasnt proven his pg playmakin skillswestbrook does
so they have a soild player in westbroke maybe even all star expectations from him as he develops will see
but jenning will b a waste of a pick
we dont kno how hes game is on the next level playing the american game hes risky
he could b a bust
but if he isnt a bust in hes great to bad another teambayless will b a allstar tho
and we passed on him………………..
but this how it should go
draft for need first
so the priortys for okc is1.griffin
2.harden
3.jennings i would take him to see wat he will become and if he bust o welll they would juss b back in the lottery next yearand i think if they dont get ether of them
trade there lottery pick for
a teams 2010 pick
but make sure that team u trade with is gone have a real bad season and b in the lottery next year
Sacramento,and Minnesota
and jersey if they trade carter
because them teams can benfit from this lottery
okc wont get much if them 3 players are gone

jorrye24Westbrook is their point guard they dont need a point guard! Yall are trippin man lol. They need a frontcourt which is where blake griffin or greg monroe comes in. The could also use backup small forward with saavy on the court like a terrence williams or evan turner from Ohio State.

BigBadBoogieParticipantThat is the single boldest statements i’ve seen in a while. Not only are they horrible, but there in the western conference. I can see how the Spurs are on the decline and same with some other western conference teams, but Portland keeps improving and same with the Grizz and the TWolves. I cannot see OKC making the playoffs by 2011, end of story.

j19lennon63Oklahoma City can be loaded in about 2-3 years. If they happen to get the first pick and pick up Blake Griffin, 2 or 3 years down the road their lineup will be flat out scary.
Look at the height
C Tyson Chandler 7’1
F Blake Griffin 6’10
F Jeff Green 6’10
G Kevin Durant 6’10
G Russell Westbrook 6’3How can you get 5 defenders against these guys in couple years. Chandler and Griffin would crash the boards and keep the post protected. Green, Durant, and Westbrook are all very good rebounders for their position as well. No selfish players either. It might be a Durant/Oden championship for many years to come. This could get interesting.

Pistol Pete. The PelicanParticipantyea westbrook is their point guard of the future, we have to remember this is his first year playing it, i think they need a 2 guard like a harden or someone like an earl clark who can rotate with durant at shooting guard/small forward.

NYKnicksuperFanParticipantif they had got chandler all they would need is a shooter maybe gerald henderson, but now that the deal failed they need a dominant big man like thabeet
