who would you take and why? Whos the better player for Charlotte?

Oladipo combined with MKG on the wings could bring elite defense…but i feel they may be too similar….i’ve heard people compare oladipo to a smaller version of ron artest….anyway how is his jumpshot? i’ve heard its improved but he hasn’t taken too many 3s right? He’s an explosive athlete and would be pretty good in transition

Mclemore is a great shooter and would give kemba a great shooter on the wing which would be nice, i feel like hes got potential to become a good defender due to his athleticisim….but his lack of length kinda sucks…

at this point i’m torn on which SG i prefer for us….right now Nerlens Noel is at the top of my board i hope we can get him

I like McLemore more than Oladipo simply because we need someone on the wings who can score. I’d be fine with Oladipo because we could gain a bit of a reputation as a hard nose defensive team shutting down everyone in the wings. One of the things I like about McLemore is he is a high character kid like Kemba and MKG, and I think the chemistry on the team in the 1, 2, and 3 spots would be really nice. We’ve seen what talent and chemistry can do together with a team like FGCU or the Clippers.

But after McLemore I have Noel as my second option, people are scared by his injury but he is the best purely defensive center I’ve watched recently in college, and what he would add to the team in the paint when he comes back would be monumental.

I unforunately am also a bobcats fan. We NEED buckets. We can’t buy them. The team has some good defensive players in Byombo and MKG, but great defense doesn’t matter if your only scoring 80 a game.

Kemba, Mclemore, MKG is not too bad, as they would get to learn/make mistakes/get better together. We need everything, but definitely someone to put the ball in the hoop, and he would definitely get that chance in Charlotte.

Oladipo and MKG on the wing would be a pretty sick defensive duo .. But I think they really need a scorer though..

we do need scoring thats for sure….so you guys wouldnt resign henderson? i would for the right price, but the thing that concerns me with mclemore is his lack of a handle and how he cant create his own shot pretty much….atleast with oladipo you get great defense, mclemore would be great in transition as well and we score a lot of our points in transition

My opinion is that Henderson and Mullens should only be resigned if they are willing to take bench money. Both players should be strong foundations in our second unit, but not starters.

A Kemba-McLemore starting group with Sessions-Henderson off the bench would make us pretty set at the guard positions for a while.

I have Oladipo #1 on my big board so they should take him. I also disagree with lolyouth. You can always find chuckers/bench scorers in free agency. The Bulls struggle to score but they win because they play great defense. Oladipo and MKG would be an awesome defensive duo and give the team an identity.

I agree. I like Oladipo. I think he offers a better foundation to build around. He can pretty much do his thing without needing the ball in his hands or requiring a lot of shots. He can be valuable even when he is not doing much on offense. Ben can be a good scorer but I dont think he is as easy a puzzle piece as Oladipo. It seems as if Ben would have to fit in the right type of offensive structure or he could struggle.

I think Oladipo is going to be a great player in this league. I will say McLemore is the better scorer/shooter and that is something Charlotte needs more of, but Oladipo could end up being the best player in this draft and I think there is a good chance he does just that. Give me Oladipo all day… Guys just a winner.

If u are asking who the Bobcats should take if both are available then I would take Mclemore, even though I like Oladipo more as a prospect. Mclemore fits in much better with the bobcats as they need a dynamic shooter/athlete on the wings to complement Kemba and MKG. I think at the absolute worst Mclemore will get u 17ppg in the NBA. He’s too good of a shooter and athlete, plus he plays within his limits.

Oladipo imo should be considered for the #1 in the draft however. I see so much D-Wade in his game. He’s not the passer of D-Wade, but other than that they are similar at the same stage. No one though Wade was gonna be D-Wade when he entered the draft. Oladipo has that same potential. He can impact games without scoring, great defender, dynamic athlete, crashes the offensive glass like D-Wade, and never stops hustling. His handle and jumper have improved ever year since joining IU, and I can see him continuing to get better once he enters the NBA.

@Y2G Yes the Bulls win with their defense but Nate Robinson, Marco Belinelli and RIP hamilton have never been known for their great individual defense, it’s the guys in the middle controlling the paint and the schemes they run. That being said Oladipo seems to be the safer pick with that kind of motor and the sky is the limmit.

@lolyouth +1 just for being a bobcats fan, I’ve never met one in person, though I do live on the west coast.

Over on reddit I think we are more numerous than New Orleans fans. I went on a cruise last week for spring break and a guy literally laughed at me for 10 minutes about being a Bobcats fan.

I understand that. But with MKG and Oladipo you have two excellent individual defenders and if Biyombo can develop, they will have created an identity for themselves as a team. Plus Oladipo plays with fire, just like MKG and Kemba Walker and that should be contagious.

I think they will both be very good NBA players but I would go with McLemore simply because his shooting ability and potential to score the ball. He has the tools to score 20 a game at the NBA level where Oladipo brings a lot more energy and defense. Victor has improved leaps and bounds offensively since he arrived at Indiana but he is still somewhat limited in my opinion. I think they will both end up being very successful NBA players but with Charlotte needing scoring so badly I would give the edge to Ben.

Oladipo shoots at 59% and 43% on 3’s. I am not saying he should def go no1 pick but with all the prospects there are pro’s and cons with each one.

He should be discussed and considered. A few different sites have him at 8-11th in the draft. He could very well go in the top 5 or even the top 3.

They should get Nerlens Noel so they can suck. That way they will be in the Jabari Parker and Andrew Wiggins sweepstakes, and make a really good team through the draft.

    1.kemba
    2.MKG
    3.Wiggins/Parker
    4.Noel
    5.Mullins

    6.Henderson 6th man
    7.Biyambo
    8. Sessions/trade him to Utah for one of their picks???

I believe this is a good overall team that can make some noise. They have great defense and athleticism at the 2,3,4. And I know MKG isn’t a true 2 but I think they could get away with him since they have kemba and Mullins draining 3s.

I think hell get drafted before McLemore too. His effort on both ends and motor mean he almost guranteed to make some sort of impact in each game whereas Ben can score but he can create as a scorer and cant match Oladipos motor or defense. I think if Indiana win the chip forget about it the hype machines gonna go crazy.

Oladipo more. Plays a better overall game. Ben needs to show me more. He has explosive games but is not the all around player Ola is. If I need SG I am thinking Ola right now. Ben is a catch and shoot NBA player who will get extra in transition. Only thing he does better is shoot and Ola is solid there. Ben plays better when I don’t watch. What he has been showing when I watch lately has not been much. Next game I wont watch and Ben will get 40 lol

After watching both players play this season, McLemore is the better fit for Charlotte, he offers more offensively as he is not as one dimensional as Oladipo on offence, if you want defense then take Oladipo..
