juslistinParticipantOne major lesson learned during the NBA draft is you don’t have to be a college star to be drafted, I could personally name so many guys who were gem’s on their teams in college who played for good teams in tough conferences, for example a guy such as Ben Hansbrough who I believe could of been a solid 2nd round pick, he could of been the next Matt Carroll who can come in and shoot the ball. Other guys such as Taylor Battle who I believe is worthy of an NBA 2nd round pick, who was Penn State’s go to guy the past 2 seasons. Also my hometown hero Rick Jackson who was top 10 in rebounding this past year averaging an double double in perhaps the toughest conference in college basketball the Big East.
I know the draft is about improving your team, and a lot is based on potential, but when you waste a second round pick on a guy who plays in Turkey who may never step foot on American soil, and you draft a guy who played for UConn and averaged less then 3 points a game and less then 4 rebounds a game, something is wrong.

i’m jus so offendedParticipantRick Jackson has no mid range and has no athleticism. While I really like Battle, there’s little chance he’ll make an impact in the league, whether as a 2nd rounder or undrafted FA…and as far as Hansbrough, are you serious??? The next Matt Carroll?? That is a complete insult to young Benjamin. 1st off, Carroll is like 6’7 with no PG skills. Ben was the Big East player (innacurate but still), what did Matt do in college?….I do agree with the concept though. Jereme Richmond and David Lighty should have been NBA draft picks

juslistinParticipantRick Jackson has no midrange and no athleticism, what does Ater Majok have? 3 rebounds a game in his career at UConn. You have to be kidding me. First of all, Isiah Thomas out of Washington as the last pick of this year’s draft is probably the best player ever taking last in the NBA draft. E’Twaun more also out of Purdue is also a solid player. These are guys who are proven players who I believe will make rosters and can be sparks off the bench. Isiah Thomas is a far better point guard then Nate Robinson yet Nate was drafted in the first round.

RUDEBOY_ParticipantOut of all the well known college players that went undrafted…Only Demetri McCamey not getting selected surprised me…He’s a tradional point guard, but played in Illinois motion offense, where having a playmaker wasnt all that important…Who ever brings him to training camp will be very happy they did…
Targuy Ngumbo is a Micheal Pietrius clone….
