birdman1113Participantwhos the player thats always to high in peoples mocks?
0 - Posted on: Fri, 06/12/2009 - 11:10am #162209
kotyParticipantI think Gerald Henderson is good, but i dont believe he is a lottery talent. Other than him, there arent many people who are that far from their correct draft position

gatorheelsParticipantI think Jordan Hill is overrated some. I would take at least 15 guys in this draft over him.
Obviously Griffin is going to be the 1st pick but I still think he is overrated.

auberParticipantFor me it’s Tyreke. I think him going higher than 6 is excessive.

mikeyvthedonParticipantI think that Jordan Hill is getting the benefit of so few competent big men being in the draft this year. He would always kill my Ducks, but what big guy wouldn’t.
As far as my own thought on another overrated player, I would have to say that BJ Mullens also chose the right time to come into the draft due to lack of bigs, but I think he is another pick that will go based on potential that will go untapped.

fliptonnParticipanti think dejuan blair was a great college player. and i know there are examples like maxiell and leon powe but lottery picks are meant to be stars. at 6’6 i really just think hes too short to have an impact in the league.
0- Posted on: Sat, 06/13/2009 - 2:29am #162775
BubblebuttParticipantI have to say I think Blair will be great, he shows more promise that Anthony Mason and he was maby 6 foot 7. I watched a game and I didn’t even know the two teams were and Blair just took over. He got every rebound on defence and offence. He made all the other players look like they were in the WNBA.

ricks17ParticipantI think jordan hill is overrated too aswell as jrue holliday. some people have him going as high as #4, i think thats about 10-15 spots too high for him.
0 - Posted on: Fri, 06/12/2009 - 11:25am #162226
j1232eParticipanthe hasnt even established himself as a point.
0 - Posted on: Fri, 06/12/2009 - 11:25am #162225
mb6297mikeyvthedon 100% right…
BJ Mullens… he is horrible.
dlipto11 also knows that Ricky Rubio is vastly overrated as well.

Knicksboy34ParticipantI think It’s DeRozan…I think he’s gonna be more Corey Maggete then Vince Carter.
0 - Posted on: Fri, 06/12/2009 - 12:24pm #162309
birdman1113ParticipantHollidays the most overrated.
0 - Posted on: Fri, 06/12/2009 - 12:32pm #162315
Knicksboy34ParticipantI disagree. I think you need to let Holiday play PG, play hard on D and let his offense game develop.
0 - Posted on: Fri, 06/12/2009 - 12:39pm #162322
gatorheelsParticipantI think Holiday is a legit lottery prospect. I agree with Knicksboys’ statement. Once his jumpshot fully develops (which I think it will) and he adapts to the pace of the nba game he could be awesome.

Knicksboy34ParticipantGatorheels….can you say
Jrue Holiday could be like Gary Payton?
0 - Posted on: Fri, 06/12/2009 - 12:45pm #162325
gatorheelsParticipantI actually think Jrue can be better than Payton. Jrue will be a better shooter than Payton that is for sure. Also Jrue can be a better rebounder. Payton has a lot of old school moves though that Holiday will probably never have. I see some similarities. They are about the same size.

Knicksboy34ParticipantI want him as a Knick man…I hope Curry and Evans are off the board by 8 and Walsh picks Holiday…
0 - Posted on: Fri, 06/12/2009 - 12:47pm #162327
j1232eParticipantI compare him to a smaller jalen rose.

The MantisParticipantDeRozan, Holiday, Mullens….
They may all turn out to be good in the long-term, but as of right now, I don’t see any of them contributing much anytime soon. Maybe it’s just me, but if I was a GM with a lottery pick, I want a guy who can at least be my 6th or 7th man by his second year. I’m not sure any of these guys will be ready that quickly. The way the rookie contract scale is set up right now, you don’t want to wait until a guy’s third year before you can decide if he’s going to be worth re-signing….otherwise, it keeps your team from making moves that it should while you’re waiting to see if your lottery pick is going to develop.
0 - Posted on: Fri, 06/12/2009 - 12:57pm #162337
gatorheelsParticipantThats a good point Mantis. It is a gamble to draft on potential. I think DeRozan & Holiday are both worth a shot though. NO way would I take Mullens in the lottery. If you can’t start for your college team that tells me you can’t help out an nba team for at least 3 or 4 years. Holiday & DeRozan will at least be solid bench players by their 2nd year in the league.

piratejpParticipantCount me on the Holliday bandwagon. I think he’s going to be a King & a very good one (eventually).
It’ll take a little time for him to fully develop, which is why if they take him I’d really love to see them get a guy like Ty Lawson at 23. They have different styles of play & I think Lawson will be at least an effective backup PG. Plus, I think the more mature Lawson would be a good influence on Holliday & they would push one another big time.
0 - Posted on: Fri, 06/12/2009 - 1:04pm #162342
piratejpParticipantHe’s probably not a lottery pick, but Daye isn’t in my top 30, yet he seems to be going in the 15-20 range in most mocks. That dude needs to bulk up & really work his butt off to succeed and I just don’t believe he will.
0 - Posted on: Fri, 06/12/2009 - 1:51pm #162383
maravich44ParticipantMullens is the most overated. He’s a long ways away from helping a pro team. I have reservations abot Blair and Hill. I haven’t seen Holiday play that much, but have you guys forgotten what kind of defense Payton played in his prime. If he’s better than Payton, that would be something. He was a stud in his day.
0 - Posted on: Fri, 06/12/2009 - 2:52pm #162437
auberParticipantBJ Mullens is a punk ass bitch
0 - Posted on: Fri, 06/12/2009 - 3:31pm #162463
Da1potParticipantMullens is gonna be just like that dude on oklahoma, Robert Swift with actually less intensity and determination than swift has!! I didn’t even think that was possible. He has a chance to be decent though down the road due to his size, athleticism. All this talk about Detroit drafting him though, (especially if Rasheed Wallace doesn’t re-sign with them and they don’t get Boozer in free agency) is crazy. They already have two project big men in Kwame Brown and Amir Johnson and don’t expect them to add a third unless they really think he will be a special player.
0 - Posted on: Fri, 06/12/2009 - 3:58pm #162482
billykParticipantNO WAY Jrue Holliday will be better than Payton (not even close), I think he is vastly overrated… I also think that Hill and Mullens are players that are overrated… Reye Evans will get exposed in the NBA (low BBall IQ, poor shot)…
0 - Posted on: Fri, 06/12/2009 - 7:07pm #162707
knicksfreakParticipantBlair or Daye
0 - Posted on: Fri, 06/12/2009 - 7:11pm #162708
j1232eParticipantis not even a top 45 pick please, man he is weak! If he goes 1st round, bust. If he goes 2nd he will have to prove himself that will keep him in the league
0 - Posted on: Sat, 06/13/2009 - 2:32am #162776
Lodzio20ParticipantRubio is most overrated player in this draft!!
