HaleParticipantJohn Henson looked good. He was blocking and adjusting shots like crazy. He was even doing it out near the perimeter too. He showed an improved mid range game (although he could’ve just gotten hot).
Tyler Zeller looked pretty bad. He wasn’t going up strong enough on offense, and MSU pounded the ball to his guy down low a lot. He didn’t seem to rebound well either.
I only saw a little bit of Andre Drummond but he definitely looked like his mask was bothering him. He looked kind of confused on defense as well.

Scottoant93ParticipantMike Rosario looked good for florida, i know no one is talking about him..just thought i add him in, Brad Beal and Patric Young looked good too
Anthony Davis,MKG looked great
Drummond- I thought he wasn’t going to play the opener only played 12 min, like yup yup said that make looked uncomfortable, im sure he will do better as the season goes on
Barnes started off slow, but eventually did his thing looked good, might have been the arena(i think it was outdoors)
Rivers looked good, Duke might be overated though they always have trouble with small team especially belmont
Henson had 9 blocks which was impressive
John Jenkins(24pts) and and Jeffrey Taylor looked nice(21 and 11)
Jeremy Lamb looked awesome, sick poster as well as 30points, Napier also looked good 21pts 6reb 8 assists

providencefriars1ParticipantUk nation, did you actually watch all these guys play or are you basing it off of box scores?

WizardofOzParticipantI liked what I saw from Brandon Dawson of Mich St.
QMiller looked a little slow running the floor. I don’t know if he was always like that, or if it’s because of the knee injury, but I don’t think he’s fully recovered. He didn’t showcase his handle this game and moved the ball around when he wasn’t open. Most of his points were from spot-ups and dump-offs. He was playing out-of-position though.
Barnes looked pretty much the same from last season. Good shooter that can score off the ball, but still struggles to create his own shot and can disappear whne he can’t get open looks off of screens. And I think he jacks a solid amount of bad and questionable shots. Was saying it in another thread and also on another site a month ago that it’s a dirty little secret that Barnes has borderline awful shot selection at times. I think he’ll be a solid player, but him being projected #1 on some mocks is a joke.
I heard Rivers looked pretty good. And Lamb looked legit. His stroke was on point, moved well without the ball, played the passing lanes well, and had a nasty dunk a 7′.

Bmore_DCParticipantu guys realize the season JUST started??? if we did this at this time last year then Harrison Barnes looked like a scrub…
let the REAL games begin…not Kentucky vs. Morehouse or UCONN vs. Columbia….smh
most of these guys are FRESHMEN…brand new teams, brand new systems, brand new coaches, brand new cities…come on
oh and i second what lisergx says…haha

Lotto StudParticipantAny SEC guys seen B.J. Young yet? I want to keep tabs on him all season long, since he is the Dark Horse PG prospect being in the Top 5 of his class

uknationParticipantI watched these games. Dish.
And of course i don’t mean overrated for the year or underrated for the year. This is all just based off the past week. Gotta chat about something plus this is done all the time on this board after one game. Then after two games it will be done again and so on and so on. I’m pretty sure no one thinks everything that happened after week one will stay the same. Teams and players will get better or worst

Lodzio20ParticipantDrummong is after nose injury and plays with mask and I think that is the reason why he was on bench and play like shit
0 - Posted on: Sat, 11/12/2011 - 10:50am #607915
uknationParticipantHe came off the bench in scrimmages before he broke his nose. There have been others who broke there nose before them and yes it does cause some issues but thats not the full reason a player doesn’t do as well as people predict. Drummond has issues with going hard and being a banger. He rather face up and shot jumpers or turn around jumpers instead of backing someone up and going through them

WizardofOzParticipant^^And Drummond’s handles aren’t good enouugh to be a faceup player in the NCAA or NBA. His handle probably looked great on YouTube videos, but the use of his handle is going to be limited at this level. He needs to learn how to establish position down low and use his strength. He should watch some Jared Sullinger.

JNixonParticipantThe conference slate tells all. I’ll leave it at that for you guys. I’m happy the season has begun though! Like, SUPER HAPPY. Even though K-State almost got the year started with an ugly upset to Charleston Southern.
