TarHeelRavenParticipantfrom clinching top seed in the Easy with a half game lead over the Heat. I said at the beginning of the year that the Pacers getting that one seed and having a game 7 at home would be huge against the Heat. The Pacers having been playing their best recently and it isn’t even a foregone conclusion that they will meet the Heat in the playoffs. I expect both the Pacers and Heat to regroup after the grind of the regular season and come out focused and ready for the playoffs. Anything can happen, but if both the Heat and Pacers play up to their elite capabilities, they will be on a crash course to meet in the Eastern Conference Finals once again.

IndianaBasketballParticipantWith the way things have gone with the Pacers lately and especially the way they’ve struggled playing on the road, I don’t think it’s a lock they’ll beat the Magic. The Magic will play loose with nothing to lose. With Nikola Vucevic out, hopefully Roy Hibbert can produce a monster game and feel good about himself going into the playoffs.
Getting homecourt advantage will be huge for the Pacers. They’re 35-6 at home, which is the best record in the league.

ballislyfe25ParticipantHave to be happy if you’re the Pacers and still get this top seed. Despite all their recent struggles, having that home court for a potential Miami matchup is exactly what they set out to do.

Hacker90ParticipantIf they end up with the same record and split the season series?

SteezGawdParticipantThe #2 seed plays Charlotte (formidable when and if AL JEFFERSON is playing OUT OF HIS MIND) in the 1st rd and then winner of Wizards and Raptors in 2nd rd.
The #1 Seed gets to play Hawks in 1st round, then winner of Chicago and Nets in 2nd round.
Imagine the Heat going 7 tough grind it out games with the Nets or Chicago then having to play the Pacers.
Let’s be honest, the HEAT nor the PACERS want that #1 seed if they have to play the Nets in the 2nd rd. , go 7 games and then IF ( and that’s a big if) they win have to play each other in the ECF.
If I’m the Pacers I let Miami get the #1 seed, I’d bet they could st a game (possibly the 1st one with a worn down Heat) and then having home court doesn’t matter anymore long as they win all their home games.
