RObin PadillaParticipantIs Pau Gasol a hall of famer? Why or why not?

KingoftheOceanCourtParticipantYeah, as theprophet said, he’s done a lot for basketball in Spain. I think his Olympic accomplishments coupled with his NBA rings have him in.

Wavy BagelsParticipantHe was a driving force that helped the Lakers remain in the title picture for the past few seasons. He has a some all-star appearances, 2 rings, ROY award (2001) and has helped put Spain basketball on the map as theprophet pointed out.

FearTheStacheParticipantI always like to think that if you were to write a definitive book of the history of basketball up until the present, and you can not possibly not include a certain player, then that player should go into the Hall of Fame. Pau’s influence on basketball in Spain, paired with the his arrival in LA causing the resurgence of the Lakers, merits Hall of Fame induction.

theprophetParticipantjust curious then, if you wrote that definitive book would you put robert horry in the hof?

FearTheStacheParticipantI’m not sure. He won a lot of rings, on three different monumental teams, lasted a while, yet was always a role player. I think he’ll get in, but after a while on the ballot, purely because of the rings, and he has made some of the most clutch shots in the history of the NBA, at least one of which would merit a spot in the book.

Lebron’s HairlineParticipantWithout Pau, Kobe wouldn’t have won 2 more rings or still be in LA as he was hellbent on getting traded unless the lakers made a big move

Lebron’s HairlineParticipantYeah I agree, every team needs at least 2 stars to win a championship

Chilbert arenasParticipantI think Pau is more of a lock than Bosh if that’s what inspired this thread, but both comparable in statistics and in the roll they play on their team.

JJeff6ParticipantI think Pau (up until this season) is one of the most consistent players in the nba. general lock for 18 and 9-11. won his rings. has been to 4 all star games. no doubt deserves a lot of consideration!

BasketballJunkie224Participanti wouldnt be shocked if he was inducted but at the same time i wouldnt be suprised if he was left out. could go either way. if he somehow won another championship i think its a lock

slash787ParticipantPau has the numbers, the rings, the international success, and Olympic success. When you take everything into consideration the guy is in the Hall of Fame hands down.
