michaelds911ParticipantI’m acting as if they actually had to play together, so if I had too many big ego’s it could mess everything up so……..
PG-Stockton…..He did everything you would want from a PG.
SG-Jordan…..Duh.
SF-Pippen….I would pick Lebron, but he and M.J. would clash heads too much lol.
PF-Duncan….He could care less if he wasn’t “the man”, he just wants to win.
C-Hakeem….He has that same demeanor as Duncan, so he would fit perfect.0 - Posted on: Thu, 05/21/2009 - 7:36pm #152188
knicksfreakParticipantPG-Magic- tall, silky smooth, nonselfish
SG-Jordan- cant leave him out
SF-Bird- this lineup needed a pure shooter
PF-Garnett- added defensive presence
C-Shaq- most dominating offensive big man ever on a team with alot of help D. He can play inside out with Bird great.I wasnt sure about Garnett but didnt want to also put Duncan and didnt think I should move a center over.

SG-Michael Jordan-the best ever
SF-Reggie Miller-spreads the floor for my beast of a center

nthegoodlifeParticipantPG- Kidd: prolly best defensive pg ever, not to mention he has uncanny ability to run a team
SG- Kobe: to easy, dominates the most athletic league ever
SF- LeBron: ability to not only dominate on offense, he could lock down ANY other sf the game has ever seen
PF- Duncan: to easy, no one could guard him in his prime, NO ONE
C- Hakeem: ask Shaq how good this man was0 - Posted on: Fri, 05/22/2009 - 10:16am #152302

WälseParticipantyou’re trippin player! you know Lebron is the ultimate team guy. didnt Wilt lead the league in assists on 1 occasion. i’m not old enough to really know, but i didnt know him to be a selfish player. Larry played plenty of PF and had a career rebounding average over 10, so if Dirk can play the power forward at only an inch or two taller, i’m sure Larry would be fine. come on man…my team would blow yours out. we’ll just post Magic for 48 minutes! you dont even have any shooters!
0 - Posted on: Fri, 05/22/2009 - 4:39pm #152406
michaelds911Participantwhaaaat since when isn’t Stockton a good shooter? A lot of my shooters would come off the bench along with the energy guys. Plus Wilt just did that to see if he could do it, because he only averaged over 5 assist 3 times. and I would be glad to have you playing Bird at the 4 so Duncan can murder him lol, but Magic would terrorize Stockton. But on the flipside stockton could just blow by him everytime down, and dish it out.
0 - Posted on: Fri, 05/22/2009 - 6:08pm #152442
WälseParticipantstockton can shoot well enough but he’s not a “shooter” if you get what i’m sayin. i’d love to see Duncan try to guard Bird on the the other end. and i’d put LBJ on Stockton and let Magic stick Scottie. my team cannot be beat…lol

nthegoodlifeParticipantabout position, THEY MEAN NOTHING. If you have cp3, kobe, lebron, jordan, & shaq on a team: you know who is starting. Positions are only relevant when working with weaker players.
0 - Posted on: Tue, 05/26/2009 - 5:07am #153173
michaelds911ParticipantI know, I was just saying that I could of threw out a whole bunch of people like that as well. It’s just more fun when you have to restrict yourself to one great player at each position.
0 - Posted on: Tue, 05/26/2009 - 4:19pm #153341
nthegoodlifeParticipantIt makes this more direct, but many of these players often play so many positions anyway. This is on topic sort of, do you think teams ever use a players position in real life? You know as a reference, like LeBron you’re at the 3, West you got the 2, Mo grab the point, or do you guys think they’re more concerned with match-ups. I believe its match ups, what do you guys think?
0 - Posted on: Tue, 05/26/2009 - 4:25pm #153344
michaelds911ParticipantI know what you saying, you don’t have to get all technical with it lol…
0 - Posted on: Tue, 05/26/2009 - 5:34pm #153358
nthegoodlifeParticipantI wasn’t trying to, I just wanted a few opinions on the subject. I’ve never actually really put any time into thinking about it. I think positions are just for people to classify a player, but they really don’t have much relevance, it’s more about match ups. Atleast thats my take, but either way, I keep my five.

C-Hakeem Olajuwonthey can all defend. LeBron would do most of the typical pg duties distributing and what not. Also, say whatever you want about legends like Magic and Bird, this is a different era and these guys would D them up. Shaq is the biggest obmission on my list, but he would have a hard time being effective without the ball, which he won’t get everytime down with all of these guys playing. The Dream could spread the floor more.

Screech PowersParticipantLets assume that Chemistry plays a factor in this as well. Similar to Bill Simmons’ Wine Cellar Team, lets assume the fate of my life was on the line and I needed to pick a team to win a 7 game series. I would go with:
PG: Magic Johnson- Playmaker who will happily set others up
SG: Michael Jordan- 1996 version when he started embracing his teammates and picking his spots when he needed to take over
SF: Larry Bird- Outside shooter, super clutch, and great teammate
PF: Tim Duncan- Great interior defense, superb rebounding and automatic two points with his mid range bank shot
C: Hakeem Olajuwon- Best center of all time. Has more steals and blocks combined than any other player in history. Not to mention a deadly post game.
Bench:
LeBron James- Imagine a lineup with Magic, LeBron, Bird on the floor with Jordan. I’m giddy with excitement right now.
Shaquille O’Neal- Inside scoring presence when Hakeem is out.
Dwayne Wade- Jordan clone to come in and back him up.
Charles Barkley- Besides the fact that he is a great player, imagine the fun that him and Jordan could have together. Wait, on second thought…
Reggie Miller- We are building towards our stellar 3 point shooting lineup.
Dirk Nowitzki- See Reggie Miller.
Gary Payton- Better defender than Magic, plus he can score too.Toughest Omissions:
Kobe Bryant- Can’t risk him clashing with Jordan over wanting to be top dog.
Isiah Thomas- If he wasn’t hated by every member of this team he would have taken Gary Payton’s spot.
George Gervin- He’s instant offense but we really don’t need that on this team.
David Robinson- How can he be on this team after Olajuwon slaughtered him? Quality center though.0 - Posted on: Tue, 04/27/2010 - 3:24am #295963

paint intruderParticipantPG: Magic/ Kidd – the impersonation of showtime/ great defender(in his prime), passer
SG: Jordan/ Reggie – the ultimate leader/ a lights-out shooter, which every team needs
SF: Pippen/ McGrady – the ultimate teammate/ a deadly scoring punch of the bench
PF: Garnett/ McHale – KG would eat the opposing team alive/ rock-solid low-post option
C: Olajuwon/ Duncan – simply the dream/ an even more rock-solid low-post optionThis roleplayers also made the team:
Rodman – outstanding rebounder, doesn’t demand shots
Ben Wallace – great shot-blocking presence, doesn’t demand shotsMy team is based on teamwork and chemistry, since every player has the ability to pass the ball.
Either as a playmaker (Magic), or as a post-passer (KG, Duncan).
That’s the reason why I didn’t put Shaq, LeBron an Kobe in there.
They probably would have problems adjusting to smaller roles in order to win.0 - Posted on: Wed, 05/12/2010 - 1:13pm #313769
