Portland is a surprise
But who would you have snubbed over a Portland player?
A few backcourt players considered in the West:
Chris Paul, Kobe Bryant, James Harden, Russel Westbrook, Tony Parker, Stephen Curry, Jeremy Lin (voting purposes), Greivis Vasquez, Ty Lawson, Goran Dragic, OJ Mayo, Mike Conley
A few frontcourt players considered in the West:
Kevin Durant, Serge Ibaka, Tim Duncan, David Lee, Blake Griffin, Al Jefferson, Paul Millsap, Dwight Howard, Zach Randolph, Marc Gasol, Rudy Gay, Andre Iguodala, Kenneth Faried, Danilo Gallinari, Marcin Gortat, Anthony Davis, Ryan Anderson, DeMarcus Cousins
Just to name a few not on Portland- possibly even left out someone...

After today win over Miami Portland has moved to 20-15 good for 7th in the west.
This has been a huge surprise and turnaround from last years performance.
This is where espn rated the Portland players prior to the season
