jjonzParticipantThey don’t have a star that the other big 3 teams have, so they rely more on spacing the floor, with great athlete’s & 3 point shooters. They deny ball reversal great help D on offense they can push it and they have gexcellent half-court sets. I think this could be an Upset team in the playoffs. I think they could move up to 6th in the East. And play the Heat. DCollins should be COY. Iggy 3rd team All-NBA 14/6/6.4 assts 2nd most amonst SF. I’m saying they will win a rnd but this team quality depth @ every position, and my favorite thing of all Chemistry.

dmo21ParticipantSmall forward, or forward position is hard to get top 3 when your top 3 small forwards are Lebron, Durant, and Carmello….

ChrischiParticipantJust making the playoffs would be a huge success. They have almost the same line-up as last year. I remember most guys of this forum didn’t think they could do it. Now they are one of the better defensive teams and most of that credit goes to Doug Collins.

fai714ParticipantA 7th seed in the East to inevitably get knocked out in the first round by the Celtics, Heat or Bulls shouldn’t get you coach of the year. Expect the coach of the year and MVP to come out of Chicago…If they can make a run at the 5th seed and pass Atlanta somehow, which isn’t impossible with the way the hawks are playing, people might take more notice. But looking at the standings they prob won’t catch em cus they’re 4.5 back but they can easily pass ‘Melo and the Knicks who are only one ahead which is a nice story in itself because of how overrated the Knicks are

omphalosParticipantI still think they need a better closing option; that’s never been Dre’s game.

OhCanada-ParticipantThey are what we thought they were! Good team for stretches but way too inconsistant. You tink they can beat Chicago, or Boston? They maybe able to challenge Miami but I doubt it.

SwatLakeCityParticipantDoug Collings and Lionel Hollins are my votes for Coach of the Year. The sixers did loose to the Bucks badly, had a low scoring game against the Celtics but that’s expected and then they just recently lost to the struggling Jazz. That’s not a very good resume for 6th in playoffs though. They better turn it around quickly, the playoffs are just around the corner.

The Sixers are a prime example of what a team can be with 8 or 9 legit NBA players. A 7th or 8th seed in the eastern conference. You need a star player to really contend with top teams in the east and west. Or have a defensive minded team with a good shot blocker like the Pistons a couple of years ago. You put a legit scorer with the Sixers current roster they’d be one of the best teams in the NBA.

HitsterParticipantI’d put Tom Thibodeau ahead of Doug Collins for Coach of the Year along with Greg Poppovich and a couple others. Philly are likely to finish 6th or 7th unless Atlanta collapses or someone else surges on. So they are likely to meet one of Chicago, Boston or Miami. Whoever gets the Knicks will have all the media hype, the 8th seeded team is likely to be beaten fairly easily by the top seed and Philly are the middle team of those three, likely to put up a good challenge but probably beaten in 6 games.
There would be no easy match up for Philly in the play offs as Boston has huge depth and experience, Miami have the big 3 and whilst Chicago don’t have as many star players they have D-Rose (MVP) who is carrying all before him at the moment.

NYK2010ParticipantIggy All NBA Defense maybe but not on offense.
Doug Collins definatley deserves votes for coach of the year.
More than likely Tom Thibodeau will win COY, 1st year and he’ll have maybe the best record in the conference.
The team has a lot of talented young players, 2 games behind the Knicks in the loss column still.
They’ll probably end up the 7th seed and give the Bulls or Celtics a tough 1st round series.

ChrischiParticipantObviously they won’t win anything this season but who gives a shit. That same team didn’t win 30 games last season and now they make the playoffs and that after their horrible start.
