    Raptor FANS

    QUESTIONS?

Who would you like to see the raptors take with the 5 overall pick on thursday??

My pick: Kemba Walker/Brandon Knight if he is available. I think calderon needs to go, hes a solid passer and solid point guard.. but its really time for a change. Sorry Calderon. Bayless is forsure getting good, you can tell.. but to be honest just not a big fan of his for some reason.. hes a little out of control sometimes.. So lets get a new young point guard!

    Whos your pick?

If the raptors trade and get another mid first round pick, Who would you pick?

My pick: Chris Singleton, or Marshon brooks. I dont know a lot of Singelton..havent watched him that much.. but from the videos and from what i hear, hes a solid defender. Its obviously we need a SF.. and defense.. so it would be a decent pick. Marshon brooks i have seen, and i really like him. Could move Derozan to the 3 and put Brooks at the 2?

    Whos your pick?

Raptors need a Center! If you were GM, which free agent would you sign to be our center?

My pick:  DeAndre Jordan. It seems to me raptors are tryin to get away from the euro type team they have been trying to have, and more of an atheltic team. Jordan is young, atheltic and would fit right in. I hear clippers want him back, and i wouldnt want the raptors to over pay for him, but who knows.

    Whos your pick?

Why Brooks when DeRozan is their "2" of the future. He is so versatile that it does not make any sense to play him at the 3. He has a J that is coming along, just give him time to develope some more before you write him off, for them to look for another 2. If it’s the case that they need instant offense, HEY snatch up Knight or Walker & plug Bayless at the 2 which = buckets when giving the Green light.

    Re: Mempphis Tyga23

First of all, When did i ever ”write off” demar derozan lol?? He is my favorite player, you can see that since my sign in name is ”DemarDerozan” All i said was that i like brooks, maybe put demar at the 3? lol nothing wrong with that Demar is 6’7.. he has the height to play at the 3. Second of all, your telling me instead ”snatch up Knight or Walker”. I do recall in my paragraph.. I already said i would pick those 2 players with the 5th overall Pick. And then you say put bayless at the 2? I thought u just said you wanted Demar at the 2?

Your paragraph doesnt make sense, and you should re-think what you said haha…..

If you dont agree, thats fine, but i asked above.. Whats your pick..

    5th Pick

    Jan Vesely

The Raptors need a versatile SF who can develop into both an offensive and defensive threat. At 6’10 Vesely has awesome size for a SF and hes very athletic with potential to improve his jumper. I just don’t see why we should draft a PG when I dont see Kemba being better than Bayless.

Mid: Depending on where it is.. if its late lottery I say Biyombo. He would be very helpful bringing defense and rebounding. He wont ever be a true offensive threat, but he can definetly improve in all areas offensively. He is the C that we should look to grab. Now, if we are gonna grab a C in free agency, its nice to have him just incase we dont, and if we do he’s obviously not ready to start yet so he would be a good pick.

Another pick would be Chris Singleton, as he can play 2 positions and be a defensive stopper, which is what this team really needs.

Then, if we are to sign one, I say Nene.

He is a tough, hard nose C, who has a pretty good offensive game, and is pretty athletic. He  would be a very good pickup for us at C as he is so powerful. I watch some of his dunks an I feel the rim is gonna be ripped off. I think he is who we should try and get.

    1. I agree with you…who ever is available out of those two pgs……but I like kemba better…..guy is clutch 2. Kawhi Leonard……BC likes him and we need help at the 3….he’s projected to go pretty high though…so its iffy 3. There are guys like Tyson Chandler, Samuel Dalembert and Nene out there that are proven but are looking for experienced winners….we’re going to have to throw money at guys like deandre Jordan or maybe eve n Greg oden

Your argument does not make any sense against me, because I was not bashing you dude! You clearly said one of your picks could be Brooks……."Marshon brooks i have seen, and i really like him. Could move Derozan to the 3 and put Brooks at the 2"

To me that clearly shows you are writing him off as a 2 to move him to the 3 for ANOTHER 2. Then I stated that if your argument maybe that they need instant offense, I said……..Take Knight or Walker who both are POINT GUARDS! & bring Bayless off the bench as the 2 aka SHOOTING GUARD!

You may not intended to write him off but by suggesting they take another 2 in Brooks who is a 1st Round prospect……that seems to be writing him off especially if YOU suggest they move DeRozan to the 3.

Yeah i have heard alot of good things about Jan Vesely, but if Brandon knight is available, there is no chance i take someone else. I know bayless is improving alot lately, but kemba walker just carried his team to an NCAA championship, with numerous clutch plays. I find it hard to think bayless is better then walker. Brandon knight is only 19 years old, and avg 17ppg 4rb 4ast, and in a few years, he is going to be a very good player. So i don’t see bayless being our point guard of the future.

Nene would be a great sign, but i think he would fit better on a contender, dont get me wrong i love him, he is a great player, but i just think Deandre jordan would be a better fit, since hes young and would fit right in. But i get where your coming from.

    Memphis tyga..

Sorry if i sounded like i wrote off my FAV player.. lol but i obviously didnt mean it that way. Just saying i LIKE both players. Thats all! lol

You also didnt say bayless coming off the bench, you just said bayless at the 2.. so i assumed you wanted him to start at the 2.. Just sayin..

Of course if you take either Knight or Walker they will start over Bayless & when we as people who use the word instant offense we are referring to a player coming off the bench.

    3. Anyone who can rebound and protect the paint, Tyson Chandler would be great though I don’t see him leaving Dallas

Next year if all those players from the mock 2012 draft are available we need to get one of those studs o man deep star talent in next year draft .

5th Pick should be Enes Kanter hes a big guy and its hard to move him in the paint big space eater hahah who can shoote the jumper also might not be great defensively but hes not bargs and seems to have a basketball iq. but im not a big fan of brandon night il rather pick up kemba walker if kanter not there and then pick up a center from free agency

Next year we should draft my boys hommi Myck Kabongo or even Marquis Teague. If we can somehow get two draft picks next year that would be golden sorry but instead of talking about getting a 2nd pick in this years draft il rather hope for getting a 2dn pick in next years draft so we could be looking at may be getting two top 10 picks in 2012. We would be well on are way on becoming a good team by adding two players from 2012 draft class. If we added barnes and kabongo or even jones 111 and teague that would be nasty.

we should trade brags and and jose for picks in the next year draft and stack uppppppppppppppp

I really dont see why Toronto can hunt for a 2nd pick but cant work that hard to move up and select Kanter. That should be the ultimate goal no matter how much thought you want to put into this thing. But following the criteria…

    5th Pick – Jonas Valanciunas

Alot of people will disagree with this pick but at the end of the day his talent is undebiable. His intentions are to be a solid defender and rebounder, and next year is loaded with PG’s and SF’s as drafts usually are. Toronto needs to be patient, and unless Josh Smith magically turns into a lotto bound C I dont see anyone else being a legit C prospect until the 2013 draft other then Valanciunas. If Toronto did not select Ed Davis last year (thank god they did) they would have wound up in a perfect position to acquire hometown Tristan Thompson who is looking like a good NBA prospect and similar one too Ed Davis. Selecting Kemba or Brandon will likely do the exact thing with freshman Myck Kabongo who is looking like another one and done lotto pick. Also not selecting a PG will give Bayless an oppurtunity to prove himself.

    Acquired pick- Chris Singleton

The exact type of player Toronto teams usually lack. The glue defensive wing. The thing people dont know about Singleton is he is also very skilled, he can post up, dribble, pass and defend. It looks as though Toronto is targetting Tobias Harris and Marcus Morris ahead of Singleton though as they came in for workouts.

Looks like Toronto will be selecting a SF and a C. They will not pick Kemba Walker imo, but if Knight is on the board they will scoop him, although I doubt he is. Seems narrowed down to a few options for each pick.

    5th Pick
    1-Enes Kanter
    2-Brandon Knight
    3-Kawhi Leonard
    4-Jan Vesely
    5-Jonas Valanciunas

    Acquired Pick
    1-Bismack Biyambo
    2-Tobias Harris
    3-Marcus Morris

About the signings…they are all pipedreams. We wont be getting any of those guys unless Da;lembert wants to play with us. Every team wants to resign their C, and pretty much every C wants to resign to their team unless I missed something. If I were to choose one C I would like to join it would easily be Marc Gasol.

    I would draft with the

5th pick Jonas Valanciunas due to what Oh Canada already stated that true centers don’t always pop up every year. I do like Biyombo to go to the raps but I feel that this pick would be more solid due to our draft posititon. Also because I don’t see knight falling to us imo of course.

For the next pick it al depends where we get the pick if its 25 and lower id like to select Chandler Parsons due to the fact that I do like an all-around player. Reminds me of luol Deng even if their games arent that similar. But if we get a bit higher id like to selec Tobias Harris I feel he would be a great player to add to the team with him being a workhorse and sf which we need

Lastly for free-agency being in Toronto it is always hard to attract certain players here so i’d say we try for Oden or Dalembert but not go all out on contracts we need to be patient with our rebuilding try for a oklahoma approach

I would draft either Enes Kanter, or Brandon Knight if their still available. If not id think about picking up Kawhi Leonard for the defense and rebounding that he brings. I would be upset if we wnet ahead and drafted Vesly… Hes got great size but i still think he would get abused on defense trying to guard the faster small forwards in the league, i watched some videos of him and he doesnt look as crazy ahletic as people say. Imo hes not gonna help the raptors as much as these other players named but this is just my opinion from what ive seen so far. Who knows i could be wrong.

And I agree fully on with the Quincy Miller comment. Hes got so much confidence and hes not afraid to speak his mind. To be a great leader you need these qualites and i think hes got the potential to lead an nba team. The raps dont really have a vocal guy that will lead like that.

i would trade down with utah(5 to 12) for either hayward or 2012 protected first (top5 2012-top1 2013)

And then pick up biyumbo with 12 !

I know Dalembert is a FA but say Sac town resigns him and trades him with the #7 pick for Bargnani of course others to make things work or picks but these are the main guys lets say… Rapts get a defensive center draft kemba and kawhi with 5 and 7 picks and thats some good defensive players to rebuild and gives sac a stretch 4 or 5 to team with cousins and make way for tyreke and cousins to work a little more freely… Some might say why not sign dalembert right out but why not rid yourself of bargs contract and start fresh.

If Jonas is there, why wouldn’t you take him?  I mean, I get Knight over him, but with nearly every draft having Knight goign 3 or 4, why not shoot for the sky and take Jonas?  Even if he takes a year or two to get here, it’s not like the Raps are expected to compete in that frame and, after next year, he could be joining Barnes, DeRozan and Bayless for a really impressive young nucleus.  I wouldn’t do anything for another first rounder in this weak draft.  Just wait and see if you can use Bargs next year to move up. And you throw money at both Gasol and DeAndre to hopefully lure one.
