Johnny KilroyParticipant"I know I can score 20 or 30 points anytime I want," Vujacic said. "But I’m not that kind of a guy. I want to win. I want to play the right way. Some games I’m going to get 10 shots, some games 15 shots; sometimes, especially coming off the bench, you’re going to feel cold, and you need time to get in the rhythm. But right now, what I care the most is for us to become a better team. And we are really capable of doing that."
As noted by Trey Kerby at The Basketball Jones, Sasha has never scored 30 points in a game and went 33 months between scoring 20 points, so "anytime I want" is apparently an exceedingly rare occasion.

BlueLacesParticipantI guess this is what happens when you become engaged to Maria Sharapova. Marry her and your career scoring average will increase by 25 points overnight!

TyroberParticipantI definitely think he is capable of scoring 20-30 points. Hes right in the fact that hes not that kind of guy. He could go and be the vocal part of the offense and easily but 20-30 points up, but then his team is definitely going to lose the game. He would have to take more shots and be less efficient than what he is now. I honestly like him saying all this because it shows he has confidence in himself.

natedogggParticipanthe is capable of going off for 20 every now and then which he is proving with the nets, but he is very much a streaky shooter, and with the lakers he rarely got the playing time to get into a rythym.
but if you remember the year the lakers lost to celts in the finals he had a pretty solid year off the bench which got him his current contract.

TyroberParticipantAlmost ANY NBA player can score 30 points a game. If they gave the ball to Sasha every possession I am sure he would score 30 points. They would lose the game for sure but he COULD score 30 points. He could shoot 20-25% the whole game but he could get 30

CodySLCParticipantlol he must have got the cockyness from Kobe. Only problem is that he’s only a shooter not a scorer. Stop being a D bag Sasha. He’s shooting close to 41% this year, and under 40% percent for his career.

llperezhow is sasha being a dbag? He might actually feel that way about himself and i think it is a good thing for any nba player ot have self confidence. But otherwise he doesnt say anything negative and hes not acting like hes being held back, he says he plays in a manner to help the team win.

llperez@cody, then you must not like too many athletes. ANd he doesnt say he doesnt do it becasue he doesnt want to, he says he "but i dont becasue i want win. I want to play the right way." Sounds to me like he saying winning is more important then being selfish. I understand most people dont like sasha, but i dont see anything wrong with this comment. Athletes should be confident they can put up numbers and he actually had a number of good games for the lakers in the 2008 playoff run before the lakers added better guys who were ahead of him in the rotation and now hes doing his thing in jersey.

llperezhe does take some bad shots and his shooting numbers are low, im not arguing against that. I dont think he could score 20-30 whenever he wanted either. But anyone else in the nba makes thsi same comment and they probably dont get hated on.

iguapops420ParticipantI’ve always liked Sasha. He was my favorite Laker for the longest time. Nowhere near the most talented, but outside of Kobe and Fish, nobody cared more about a win than Sasha. Just unfortunate that he lost his role to Ariza and then Shannon. He was actually the biggest reason for the game 3 (I think)win in 08′ being the only other player besides Kobe who had any life offensively. He’s a good team player who WILL in fact do whatever it takes to get a W, and YES he does truely believe that he is capable of going off for 20-30 at any time even though he’s never even had a 30 point performance in his NBA career. Aside from a slight cockiness, occasional bad shot selection, and a few flops, there is absolutely no reason to hate Sasha.
On a side note, I must admit that I do in fct own a Sasha jersey, and am confident that outside of Katie Cassidy, Maria Sharapova, and Sasha himself, I’m the only person who has ever acually paid for one LMAO.

iguapops420ParticipantKobe also said after this year’s title that after Fish, he’d trust Sasha before anyone else to take a clutch shot. "That kid’s got Icewater in his veins." I believe were his words.

NYK2010ParticipantThat must be why the Lakers traded him.
True he could hit 20 pts if he got hot from the field and hit a bunch of open 3’s.
Also Ray Allen blew past him to ice Game 4 of the 2008 Finals too way to play great D when it counts.
