Top 10 high school recruit, Renardo Sidney, who has longed been publicized by the media, since his freshman year, committed to USC Sunday. Word is, that he was set to attend UCLA, but because of his low SAT scores, UCLA backed out of giving him a scholarship. My question is, how can Sidney not qualify for UCLA, but gets accpeted my USC? Something fishy is up. The USC basketball program has been up to fishy things the last few seasons, since Tim Floyd took over. First, the OJ Mayo scandal, and DeMar Dezoran and Percy Miller aka Lil’ Romeo was said to be a packaged deal, arranged by AAU P. Miller All-Stars coach and rap mogul, Master P. , and the now public Daniel Hackett situation. Watch Sidney not get into USC and pull a Brandon Jennings, and play overseas.

Sidney hasn’t taken the SATs, yet.

Supposedly, there’s no chance that he’s going overseas, but who really knows………………

USC has been fishy for a long time. Not just Basketball. The OJ situation happens everywhere with EVERY star…. Believe me I KNOW… I don’t know how they are going to pull this off if this is true. Time will tell though…. And what happened with Hackett?

ya I’m a huge UCLA fan so i guess that would make me a little biased in this situation, but it seems like USC has some sort of recruiting scandal annually. I’ve heard about Sidney’s academic issues so like Don said there’s definitely gonna be a problem here of some sort. I’m glad UCLA and coach Ben Howland realized that maybe Sidney just wasn’t a high character guy that they wanted to be part of their program, even if he is a big talent….but like Tuck just said, what happened with Hackett? I never heard bout that…

what happened with Hackett, “allegedly” was when he was a junior in high school and a big time cali recruit on the aau circuit, USC hired his dad as strength and conditioning coach. When Hackett got there, his tuition was covered because his dad was an employee, so they got a blue chip walk on essentially with thier package deal. They have a commit now from a 2010 kid that he gave either his 8th grade or freshman year, and I’m under the impression that there doing the same with him when Hackett leaves. If im not mistaken his name is Dwayne Polee. This program is such a joke. It’s where big time kids with bloated ego’s wanna go to LA to be celebreties, take a ballroom dance class, and be the man for a program that still doesn’t really compete for the pac 10 title even, which is about as honorable a title right now as a patriot league title if you ask me. They had crap in football for the Reggie Bush thing and Im sure it goes on. Mayo was gettin paid people, and USC knew about it. Derozan was a whole shady mess. Sidney wont qualify but will still play cuz thats how USC works, and they will continue to be raw in football and above average at basketball, even though they have blue chip walkons not eating up there scholarships.

My question is how the hell does this happen at USC over and over again, and Indiana lost thier whole damn program basically because of text messages?

Canes Ok, USC does some questionable stuff and that undervalues the Pac 10 title? American, Holy Cross and Colgate sure have better teams then UCLA, Washington and Arizona St. I dont understand youre Patriot League, Pac 10 statement

have you ever read a book? obviously UCLA would woop up on Holy Cross, I was just using language to express the fact that the pac 10 blows somethin fierce this year and is kinda overrated every year if you ask me. I would love to get a Big east, pac 10 challenge thing, like the bit ten acc, so everybody can know where basketball talent is at. The best team in the pac 10, Id say Arizona State right now, there all pretty close, Wouldn’t be a top 5 team in the big east. UCONN, PITT, NOVA, Marquete even without Damion James, Louisville are all better. Im not even sure they’d be at the top of the second tier big east teams like Syracuse, G town Providence and Notre Dame, who would all compete for a big 10 or pac 10 title i think.

I’m really puzzled as to what USC is doing so wrong. Canesboy needs to get his facts straight instead of just running off at the mouth. Renardo Sidney has not taken his SAT’s yet. Second you said that he won’t qualify but will still play at USC, how do you figure that will get by the NCAA ? Third O.J. Mayo was getting paid and USC probably did know enough about it, I say enough because I’m sure they didn’t really want to know anything. Bottom line is that they weren’t the ones making the payments nor were the payments made on their behalf. As far as the so-called package deals, their aren’t any current NCAA rules against it. So again what is USC doing so wrong ?
