RickyRubio9ParticipantJust saw on Twitter. It’s about time. I’ve been waiting for 3 years or so for this day. 😀
It’s time to shut up the critics or prove them all right.http://twitter.com/#!/WojYahooNBA
WojYahooNBA Adrian WojnarowskiIt’s unclear whether Rubio signed agreement on Tuesday, or merely promised to exercise his Spanish buyout on July 1 and then sign with MinnyWojYahooNBA Adrian WojnarowskiThere was a Tuesday deadline to sign under rookie scale of current CBA, and no announcement’s expected until after Rubio’s Euro playoffs endWojYahooNBA Adrian WojnarowskiRicky Rubio has reached an agreement with Minnesota to join the Timberwolves next season, league sources tell Y!WojYahooNBA Adrian WojnarowskiNevertheless, RIcky Rubio has committed to joining the NBA and playing for Minnesota in the 2011-’12 season, sources tell Y!0 - Posted on: Wed, 06/01/2011 - 4:30pm #538897
TripBzParticipantYeah ive been following the news here in the Sota, they say it may be a deal but they just dont want to announce it until his season is over, as soon as it’s confirmed im getting my season tickets! Lets just keep our fingers crossed that there is an nba season next year.

torukParticipantDavid Kahn must be really happy.

BostonKingzParticipantHe wont have a great impact if he does join the T-Wolves this year, but let’s see how he lives up to all this hype…

omphalosParticipantActually with a pass-first PG who has professional experience at the helm the T’Wolves could make a big improvement this season. I daresay the T’Wolves trade that #2 pick now, no need to go after Irving potentially with Rubio coming over. This is a happy day for me, very curious to see how this works out, the CBA had better not ruin what should be a very interesting season for a lot of young teams.

I May Be WrongParticipantDoes this mean Flynn is already on the first flight out of Minny?
I really like Flynn and that injury hampered his season. I still think he can be a legit PG in this league with a scenary change.

TallmanNYCParticipantI don’t know what kind of value Flynn would get in a trade right now and no one is ever sure how well these Europeans will translate to the NBA, so Kahn won’t give Flynn away. Also keep in mind that at least 2/3 of the NBA already has a good to great PG already because we are living in an age of good PGs right now. Or at least it seems this way. Would the Knicks, for example, consider Flynn an upgrade over Billups? Long term, maybe, short term, probably not. And Amare’s knees are not necessarily made for the long term. With four more high potential PGs getting drafted this season, who is left to make a trade for Flynn?

topotamolderParticipantIt’s weird because there are no news about this in Spain.

nath09ParticipantI’d hold on to that second pick and draft Kanter. Let him and Rubio develop together.
If it means not winning games for one more year all the better heading into the riches of next years draft.

butidonthavemoneyClippers own their 1st next year.

mds0549ParticipantNow they can to with have leverage on draft day – if Irving is there someone would be willing to trade up to get him, same can be said if DWill is there or trade Flynn, Beasley, 2nd pick, 20th pick. They have a lot of flexibility right now and can listen to any and all offers

nath09ParticipantAs soon as posted it I started thinking…it couldn’t be all upside for the t Wolves. Thanks for the clear up.

edot4483ParticipantNice to see Rubio finally man-up and give us an answer. I had my doubts lately, even though Im a huge Rubio fan, but my boy Tony talked to K-Love at All-star game weekend in LA and Love told him he would be playing for us. He wasnt lying to him. I think Rubio will be worth the wait. He’ll struggle at first but once he gets the timing down on offensive side he should avg 8-9 assists with wolves current roster.

SmooveKRYPTParticipantwho wants to bet Kahn f*&%$ this flexibility up and drafts another PG or 2?

The Scare Crow ReturnsParticipantRubio agreeing to come over could mean a lot of things…1. Flynn can be traded any day or become Rubio’s backup long term 2. Rubio can be traded now that he’s on his way to the NBA or become the face of the franchise for Minnesota 3. The Wolves can begin to think of the best players to surround Rubio with 4. Wolves must find out who’s a better long-term team mate for Rubio, Love or Beasley???… do u trade the 2nd pick, Beasley, Love, Flynn or Johnson…what’s the next step for Minnesota, I am very interested in seeing what Kaun has planned, he may be waiting for the CBA to expire and lock out to reshape the league, with the Wolves cap flexibility and assets they could make a play for a superstar sooner than later..

omphalosParticipantOkay a few things Scare Crow, why would they have to choose between Love and Beasley? I think Beasley is the better fit though. I think Wes Johnson should be traded for a 2-guard; I’d love to see him end up in Washington with Wall and Crawford and the T’Wolves getting Nick Young back. Another shooter couldn’t hurt and he should be a good fit if Rubio can find him in the right spots.

yellowdunkerParticipantThats exacly why he signed there will be no season next year…
1. Theres no telling with the league under negotiations how much a rookie contract will be
2. after the lockout is official he will go back over seas and play for a team untill the NBA resume.
Khan knew whats was going on and so did Rubio and his agent plan well played out…..

Jazz_ItalyParticipanti’m european, following euroleague and spanish league i really think that the guy is overrated
he’s not a good shooter (horrible from 3), makes a lot of bad decisions, has fear of take big shots, he’s not nba ready
btw, there’s jenning expample: here in Rome he didn’t have a good job and then did a great rookie season in Nba, but in my opinion rubio will not be an nba star
