RickyRubio9ParticipantI guess the C’s are really moving on with Leon Powe, that’s messed up. I heard PTI discussing how they are moving without him and his injury and I believe is was Bob Ryan…of the Boston Globe who said, “Leon Powe has the best low post scoring on the Celtics”…Guys, this is a team with K.G. and Big Baby Davis. This gives them some more length, but I don’t think Swift will ever be any good. What was the deal worth?

Meditated StatesParticipantHe would be serviceable. Dany liked him back when he was 1st coming out of HS so this move is not surprising. They needed size and legth but dude is always hurt. He has never gotten back into good shape since his injured knee either. If he can give a few minutes rebounding, blocking a few fine. I’m sure he was sighned for peanuts.

Knicksboy34ParticipantI guess they wanted a scrub bench buddy for Scalabrine.

Da1potParticipantDespite what people say about Smith he should do alright in Boston and help them, as they were lacking a true center to back up Perkins in the playoffs when he was in foul trouble, as Scalabrine and Mikki Moore are both undersized and lacking in muscle. Overall, a good move for the Celtics because they get a cheap and young backup center.

Meditated StatesParticipantI don’t think he will make the team honestly. It won’t hurt to give him a look though.

llperezreminds of when they signed Patrick Obryant last offseason. A tall skinny former lottery pick ceter who never got it done.

Meditated StatesParticipantDidn’t hurt or help them. They were paying him nothing. Swift has more talent the Patrick too though I still don’t think Swift makes the team.

llperezSwift is just another example of why I support the one year removed from highschool rule. Mullens would have probably gone top 10 as well right out of HS if it was’nt for getting exposed in college.

gatorheelsParticipantThe NBA will put tattoos on you for some reason

birdman113i still think he could be a decent backup center if he stays healthy.

sheltwon3ParticipantHe may wind up doing well. Big men take a while to develop. He could be serviceable. He had a lot of injuries and is still learning the game but he is only 23. Perkins took a while to develop as well. Actually Perkins did not start getting better til after KG arrived. I think the biggest thing with young players and I will make a new post on it. From freshmen to sophmore, there will be some second year players that will look better than some of the player that enjoyed early success in their first years. I can see Bayless and Randolph being scary. Randolph grew to 7 feet and put 20 something pounds on already. Dude will show people that is no Tyrus thomas who will still wind up pretty good but Randolph has legit size and skill to play the 3 and 4. Tyrus can only play the 4 right now and he is a little undersized at that. I will say this though when he finally gets it though it will be something great but I don’t see anyone messing with Randolph though. Dude could be the second coming of KG or at worst Bosh.

birdman113i agree i think Garnett will push Swift to be a better player, with the thunder they didnt have a player like Garnett, that pushes, and teaches you to be better.

MuggsyParticipantWe finally got rid of all 3 jokes at Center; Petro, Sene, Swift. You can have him. They probably only signed him because they thought his tatts were cool and thought his red carrot top hair fit the “Celtic” name. I can see Swift and Scalabrine having some good ol’ Irish jigs at a pub while the rest of their team is at practice.

JNixonParticipantThey said the same thing about Garnett pushing O’Bryant this time last season too. Look how that worked.
