hardawaymcgrady1ParticipantIs Rajon Rondo an elite(top 5) point guard in the league right now?

magnitoParticipanti don’t know, maybe not top 5 but N1 in growth. If he improve on defense (i mean in problems with PF), often lose the concentration, and in offense is too temperamental that often he take wrong decisions. And he must improve FT shoot by God! Then he will be TOP3.

goodielecksParticipantTop 5 in no particular order of ranking.
Chris Paul
Deron Williams
Tony Parker
Devin Harris
Chauncey BillupsBesides, I would put the likes of Nash, Kidd, Arenas (when fit), Nelson ahead of him. Furthermore, I would have Rose ahead of him now. Despite Rondo putting up good numbers, his game still has many flaws.

Ch13f23ParticipantI don’t think so or lets say not just yet. His a good PG right now but he still needs to improve his game.

NJnetskiddParticipantHe isnt a top five point guard right now, but he sure played like one in the playoffs. If he can carry that momentum into the regular season he could def be in the conversation. Rondo still needs to develop better consistancy with his jumpshot and ability to create offense for others in the half court. IMO he is on of the best on ball defendes in the league when he wants to be and is a rebound machine for his size. the scary part is he is only going to be 23 next season.

playa23ParticipantYea, i don’t think rondo is at that level yet. I think he has a lot of potential and hes a star in the making but i think he needs to work on his jump shot a lot which will compliment his driving ability. His decision making on defense he needs to work on because sometimes he goes for the ball at the wrong time but all in all i think one day he will be a top 5 player.

kotyParticipanti agree that he isnt a top five pg, but would you guys consider him one of the best, if not the best, rebounding pg in the league? i would

JNixonParticipantHe is a better point guard than Devin Harris though. He isnt the scorer Harris is, but in terms of playmaking Rondo is one of the very best in the league. I would also say he is better RIGHT NOW than Derrick Rose is as a pure point guard. Rondo is a jumper away from being a top 3 point guard

apb540ParticipantJason Kidd is not better than Rajon Rondo. Maybe Jason Kidd 7 years ago but now Rondo is heads and shoulders above him.

noel2420ParticipantI think he would become an allstar talent around 4 years from now,you can’t doubt me because you saw what he did in the playoffs think about if Kevin,Allen and Pierce retires. It will be new Kendrick Perkins,Glen Davis, rookie talent, rookie talent and Rajon Rondo. So the only one that could run that team would be Rondo and Devin Harris in the next couple of years will be top 3 talent when Nash,Arenas,Kid and Bibby retires.Behind Williams and Paul and Rondo could be top 4 talent. But i think the lead don’t relized that because he is still under rated in the league and the game nba live 09

JNixonParticipantKidd and Nelson arent as good as Rondo. I think some of yall be lookin at stats and not how a player impacts games

Meditated StatesParticipantHarris is a scorer not a point. Rondo is a better point guard than Harris

HaleParticipantIt sure did help to play along with Allen, Pierce AND Garnett for his development.

joecheck88Participantno and he will NEVER be top 5 ever. top 8 at best.

The MantisParticipantTop 10, yes. Top 5, no. But, he’s the type of PG that fits in perfectly on that Celtics team. He’s pass first, plays defense, hustles, rebounds very well for his position. He does all the little things, which is perfect when you have 3 big-time scorers that all need the ball.
