Forte IVParticipantSo if any of you didn’t know, Royce White finally played a game with the Rockets D-League team today. In 18 minutes of play, Royce had 7 pts, 8 reb and 5 ast. I watched some of the game and Royce actually looked pretty good out there. His passes were all really good and clean looks.

sheltwon3ParticipantI am not shocked that he played well even though like someone said he is out of shape. Dude is mad talented. Do you think Houston would have dealt with that drama if he was not worth it.

RafterParticipantPlayed really well considering he hasn’t played an organised game since the summer, his weight could’ve been much worse, at least he tried to stay in reasonable condition.
This is really significant that he’s finally played for the Rockets’ affiliate. He could sneak into the Rockets roster if they make the playoffs but he’s probably best placed to stay in the D-League for the rest of the season to get into match shape and getting rid of the rust.

JoeWolf1He has a long way to go. It’s a good first step, for him, but most guys ready to hit the NBA year up the D-League.

Prior to the draft, Royce weighed in at 261 lbs, and apparently is 11 lbs heavier now. It is probably going to take him a close to a month just to get his conditioning and weight back to somewhere close to what it was in the summer. Ultimately, though, he probably would be best getting down below the 260 lbs to around 250 lbs and make himself a better option as a 3. Whether it is to allow him to get out of the cluster with Patterson, Morris, Jones, Motiejunas, and presumably the PF they draft next summer, or to make himself a better option to a team that might ultimately pick him up in a trade.

juice304ParticipantI’m glad Royce is now playing. But why is he not in shape already? He could have been shooting, running, lifting and all of that while he hasn’t been playing. I understand not being in “game” shape but he shouldn’t be that beefy. But with that being said i’m rooting for him just because i really like how he plays.
