Rudy Gay deal to Toronto in final stages
Well Calderon is on an expiring deal & I don't really see Detroit extending a 30+ year old long-term when they just spent a lotto. Pick on Knight. But it is a wake up call to him
So Memphis is targeting either Marion or Prince most likely... That's not to bad of a down grade from Gay.
Prince is probably the best they can get out of the rumored options.
Word is that their preference is, out of all people, Vince Carter.
Great trade for the Raptors. Not sure why Grizzlies didn't wait to find a better deal.
Looks like Detroit is the 3rd team. Tayshaun Prince & possibly Austin Daye as well heading to Memphis for Calderon to DET
So this plus whatever picks http://espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=avnw6ra
Not a bad haul for Memphis. Daye is finally showing some things this yr.
Prince, Davis, and Daye are better fits than Rudy Gay. I wasn't sure what they were going to get for Calderon, but I like it for the Grizzlies now.
Could Memphis be a landing spot for Mozgov now? Though Haddadi wasn't all that good, he was the only body over 7' besides Gasol. Moving Speights & now him all their backup bigs are strictly PFs. For the playoff push it helps to have all the big bodies you can get. Fhey have a big enough trade exception from the Speights deal and Denver has said they'd be more than willing to deal Mozgov because he's not getting much playing time and is expiring
Looks like a salary dump for the pistons. Prince is owed $7mill a year till the end of 14/15 season, while calderon is a FA at the end of this season.
Positives for the pistons - Calderon is a vet, he can help Knight develop. I am guessing Singler is now the starting SF with maybe Stuckey starting at SG ?
Negatives - Prince was a great teammate both on and off the court. His veteran leadership will be missed - especially if Otto Porter is drafted...

First reported by Woj at yahoo! Sports & backed by Ken Berger at CBS & Marc Stein at ESPN. Rudy Gay and Hammed Haddadi are soon to be headed to the Raptors in exchange for Ed Davis & Jose Calderon. They're trying to decide which 3rd team to flip Calderon to that will give them the SF help they'll need with letting Gay go. It's being reported Detroit & Dallas are 2 strong possibilities. I like Dallas where they could get back Marion & either Carter or Dahntay Jones.
We'll see who it ends up being, but all signs point to the deal getting done tonight
