PaulsJayhawksParticipantNice game winner and a tough win by the raps …they fought the pacers and the refs!

ReekoParticipantAmir and Rudy pulled through for us big time tonight!

TyroberParticipantThis is exactly why they wanted him. They wanted a guy who could take the last shot in a game and make it.

PyronParticipantwhat an exciting game.. it could have gone either way. obviously i’m happy the raps won and are now 2-2 with gay but the pacers had 2 TOs that gave away the game. when hill lost the ball for an unforced TO… and what was west thinking about that half court pass.
great job for rudy to recognize that his man was leaking out and sprinted to get a hand on the ball..

XYRYXParticipantCongrats, nice effort.
Someone already brought it up here but this Raptors team is athletic as hell now – and they have a closer now!

PaulsJayhawksParticipantWas it just me or was that more emotion outta bargs tonight than he’s put in to the last 3 years

kingofbumsParticipanti finally understood why psycho T was nicknamed psycho T…that dude is friggin nuts and outta his mind….he just goes in there to throw elbows LOL i was actually getting pissed…especially when he threw JV to the ground. i swear he wasnt like this in college…the dude was talented and now hes thrown it all out to be the teams enforcer as if they’re playing hockey or something.
nexxt, T.Ross gotta stop mocking howard and take that headband off…he looks like hes 15…
derozan impressed me a lot tonight especially in the first quarter but his onball defense is still very poor….lance crossed him up at will and embarassed him in two consecutive plays…just undressed the poor guy.
bargs was talking smack…shit like “you as flimsy as my primo pasta!”
rudy gay had a tough night guarding george and getting calls with the refs (i guess he learned that when you put on a raptors jersey it doesnt matter who the fuck you are…you just aint gonna get a call). it was nice to see a game winner though.

IndianaBasketballParticipant4th game in 5 nights for the Pacers. Still, that’s no excuse. They simply didn’t close this game out well. Too many mistakes.
Even though Gay hit the game winner, I’d take George over him every single day of the week.

mcbaileyParticipantWhile I agree that there were too many mistakes, the game was horribly officiated towards the end. Should have won anyway, but there were some pretty egregious no-calls.

J_01ParticipantWhat are you saying? Are you saying that the officials helped the Raptors? There were alot more blown calls against the raptors than the very physical pacers. The biggest that comes to mind was Hansborough on JV. I`m a Raptors fan so i`m biased but there plenty more no calls against toronto than there was to indiana.
Raptors have had the most games decided by the refs all season and somehow they were able to pull it out this game, just a gutsy win for the Raptors. Great game by both teams.

mcbaileyParticipantDifference of opinion, I guess. Towards the end, three Raptors surrounded David West and hacked him. No call. I wouldn’t be surprised if he still has welts on his arms. There were two or three of those plays down the stretch.

R-Dot-13ParticipantI’m from Toronto and a Raps fan and the game winner was great. But he was awful through 3 quarters, and finished 9-25. Not exactly what I want to see. The game winner was awesome and I love it, but we still have offensive struggles like crazy. We were lucky to even get into OT with the crappy pass with 10 seconds left.
I think Gay’s a great player and I’m glad we have him but I just want to see more efficiency before I go crazy over him.
Also, Paul George is the man.
0- Posted on: Sat, 02/09/2013 - 6:48am #745883
torontoraptors10ParticipantAll that matters is we won the game and Rudy came in clutch when we needed him. He didn’t score in the 2nd and 3rd quarter but I believe he dropped 17 in the 4th. That’s what the Raptors needed…a CLOSER. Before DeMar hit the buzzer beater in Orlando, our last game winner was with TJ Ford in 2006.
0- Posted on: Sat, 02/09/2013 - 6:57am #745886
J_01ParticipantExactly what I was thinking he may have had two bad quarters but he came up huge in the 4th and that`s what matters. 17 points in the 4th and OT is not something easy to do and to top it off he had the game winner and a couple good defensive stops that include the steal that forced OT and a big block.
0- Posted on: Sat, 02/09/2013 - 7:15am #745890
R-Dot-13ParticipantI’m not denying how good he was in the 4th and OT..
But he was 1-9 in the 4th the other day too, I’m just saying he is a great player but consistency and efficiency would be better as his %’s aren’t great either in any game.
And I know the last buzzer beater was TJ Ford.. I’m not denying it was a great shot but we were lucky to be in that spot anyway. We have tons of talent but we still have struggles offensively throughout the game. That being said I am glad we finally won a game late but we lost one the other day too.
I’d just like to see better numbers across the board from Rudy because he has the ability to.0- Posted on: Sat, 02/09/2013 - 7:25am #745891
PyronParticipantthere wasn’t any luck with the game winning shot. gay just outplayed george.
luck was west’s decision to lob a long pass and johnson somehow able to get his own offensive rebound to get the basket to tie the game… wow that was a nail bitter
0 - Posted on: Sat, 02/09/2013 - 1:24pm #746006
torontoraptors10ParticipantThat’s true and I do agree with you because I know Rudy is capable of more. Do you think he can become an all-star on the Raptors? Do you think he can replace DeMar as the teams go to guy?
0- Posted on: Sat, 02/09/2013 - 3:45pm #746028
R-Dot-13ParticipantHe’s probably the go to guy already.. which i think does help Demar also. Demar is better as a #2 guy.
And he has all the ability in the world to become an allstar.. just needs to get a more consistent 3pt shot, and get his efficiency numbers up.
He’s got all the tools.. just gotta put them together.0

Snubs15ParticipantYou’re giving Gay some high expectations that he is unlikely to meet.
Look at his career percentages and you will realize that he is basically right on par with how he has played so far… Hes never been a very efficient player.
Raps got him for his ability to close out games and hit tough shots and he is doing exactly that.He came here as an inefficient scorer, not known as a defender, and average stats across the board other than his scoring.
Please dont give him high expectations which will most likely end up in you hating on him just because hes not doing what you expect.
His 5 steals the other day were huge especially 2 big ones late, and he closed out that game like a prime Kobe Bryant.0

R-Dot-13ParticipantI never said the shot was lucky.. the shot was great.
The crappy pass and amir’s tip in were somewhat lucky..But I won’t be negative anymore.. it’s a good win and a good game for the Raps.

KayjayParticipantTell it.You guys have to understand the frustration Rudy caused some Grizz fans. He finished 9-25 and yes a win is a win regardless, but he was still atrocious from the field.
The problem is with Rudy Gay, is he can shoot you out of a game. Thats 25 shots, of the shots he missed atleast 5-10 could of been put to better use given to another player. He’s a decent clutch player, but lets not look through rose colored glasses about his low fg%’s and “I’mma get mine” approach.
