It is hard to see him say such unbelievably petty, stupid things. Dwight Howard is not better than him. I have no idea why he feels the need to be so defensive toward him, much less say DeAndre freaking Jordan is near his caliber after two good games. Even with the Lakers struggling, Dwight has already had more than that this season. Hell, Dwight is even a better FT shooter. Much better.
Was never a major Chris Webber fan when he was playing. Always felt like he faded in big moments and was just not a fan of the Kings, though I knew he was a fantastic player. Chris Webber is an infinitely better commentator than Shaq. Thought he fit in really well before Shaq came in. Shaq is going to be hard to fire and will more than likely have to quit. This is just a flat out disappointing statement, you hope he was joking, but it is doubtful. Shaq, GET OVER IT! Seriously. This is making you look really bad and not even close to impartial, which you should at the very least try to be as a commentator of the NBA.
Shaq comes across like an angry and jealous individual on TNT, in his playing days he was so much more charismatic and a role in broadcasting seemed inevitable but he isn't as likable anymore, he tries to hard in getting a reaction through some kind of controversional statement and his jokes are really cheap, 'the black Pat Riley'? He obviously has a personal grudge against Howard which is okay because how great of a player he was but he's looks like an idiot when he dismisses such obvious debates where Howard is the clear answer.
TNT was much better with Kenny, Ernie and Charles, their chemistry was special, the occasional guest freshened it up but they didn't need Shaq, he's demonstrated that he's offered nothing apart from some bootleg chuckles and a shallow basketball knowledge which puts below Barkley because Barkley would come out with some genius from time to time.
This is also kind of misleading. I was watching when Shaq made the statement and he said "At this moment Deandre Jordan is the best center in the West" then he jokingly laughed and started drinking coffee. Kenny Smith said at this moment that's actually true, Then of course Barkley mentioned Dwight Howard, but over the last 2 games. Dwight Howard is averaging 23.5 points, 8 rebounds, 2 steals and 2.5 blocks while shooting 76% and having 9 turnovers and Deandre Jordan is averaging 20.5 points, 9.5 rebounds, 2.5 blocks, 1 steal, while shooting 82% with only 2 turnovers. If we take Shaq AND Kenny from the literal sense of the statement, the argument can be made for Deandre Jordan being the best center in the West.
Now Dwight Howard is miles ahead of Deandre Jordan. No one would ever make a straight up trade for the 2 or even want Deandre over Dwight, but at this moment, this week Deandre Jordan is playing better.
Shaq really needs to stop though, sometimes he jokes are just corny and annoying.

I did miss it. But it doesn't change the fact that he isn't outplaying Dwight no matter how far back u want to go. If they change places right now, clippers are immediately Better today, last week next week whatever. Teams aren't double teaming deandre, Dwight makes every other squad make adjustments. And when the season is all of 5 games old, I'm not sure why we should be breaking down who is better based on the last 2
