KHAM83ParticipantUsually at the trade dealine, with the exception of last year’s, we have a shocker of a trade, meaning a team that we didnt expect to makes a deal. If someone posted on here “The Jazz should trade Deron Williams for Favors and picks” they would have been heavily negged. What are some deals- that has not been rumored, “most likely would not happen”, that you think should be considered. I mean, throw something out there that no one in their right mind would have thought of, but then try and make a case for why both teams should consder. I mean OKC, MIA, or other top teams that will stay put, but you can figure out a way to still improve these teams. For all you GMs out there, this is your chance to post your bogus trade ideas……as I think of it, this is exaclty what I am asking us to do.
Here’s a couple that comes to mind for me:
Hawks trade Al Hortford to PHX for Marshall, Morris, Wesley Johnson.
We know Smith is gone, but I say get rid of Hortford as well and just completely start over. With Hortford in the east, the Hawks will continue to win just enough games to lower their chances at a high draft pick. Marshall and Morris are young pg and pf prospects that they can build around, yet be worst of now to help with lottery chances.Spurs trade Stephen Jackson and Blair to TOR for Bargnani and Ross
TOR wants to rid themselves of Bargnani’s contract, and I think they will need to package Ross to get a team to bite. I think the Spurs should consider a deal. Bargnani should mesh well next to Duncan and Ross is a sg prospect that can step in when Ginobli is gone. With Jackson, Toronto gets a SF, with 10million expiring contract. Toronto will then have over 17 million in cap space once both his and Calderon’s contracts are up.Now you go–Anyone who can make sense of a Lakers trading Kobe scenerio gets extra brownie points.

joecheck88ParticipantI don’t mind the idea of Atlanta trading Horford but not on the trade you posted. I think you were trying a little too hard to think outside the box. Now that you mention it though. Living in Houston, I like the idea of Al Horford coming to be our PF. I like it more than Josh Smith. But, I don’t think Houston has the pieces to make it happen. Or they have the pieces but I don’t want to see a Parsons leave.
I hope the trade deadline is exciting this year and it could be with the new luxury tax rules looming.

I think this trade is very plausible, and would be beneficial for every team.0 - Posted on: Mon, 01/21/2013 - 9:20am #740629
Lebron’s HairlineParticipantUnless Houston offers the hawks something huge Horford isn’t going anywhere

joecheck88ParticipantOh I completely agree. Just saying I’d rather have him than Josh Smith as our future PF. I just mentioned it since the op mentioned Horford.
