    Sixers trade-

Andre Iguodala, Marreese Speights, Andres Nocioni, #16 pick in this year’s draft, 2012 top 10 protected pick/2013 unprotected pick

    Wizards Trade-

Javalee McGee, Rahsard Lewis, 2011 unprotected pick

Why the Wizards do it: Mostly, shed Rashard’s terrible contract while adding Iguodala as a piece to either play next to John Wall or to be used as a trading chip to get young talent. Iguodala has some value in the league, while Rashard has negative value. Iguodala gives the Wizards the flexibility to do what they want with him. Also, the Wizards get a future 1st round pick in the 2012 or 2013 drafts which are much much deeper than this one.

Why the Sixers do it: Iguodala is on his way out of town, and in exchange for him they get back some nice young talent in McGee, a possible top 5 pick in this year’s draft, but also add Rashard’s terrible contract. Rashard can have some use on this team. He can stretch the floor as a 3 or stretch 4 with his nice shooting stroke. Collins will find a lot of use for him. He’s still one of the best spot up shooters in the league. Also, his contract expires the same year as Brand’s, so in 2013 the sixers shed 35 million dollars and become major players in free agency. Also, that #4 pick can very possibly turn into Kanter or Montejunas, who, paired next to Javale McGee, would be a very nice young frontcourt tandem for years to come.

What do they Wizards do with Iggy? They are definitely not in a win now mode. They need their pick to help them rebuild. Iggy is a nice player and can help a lot of franchises, but there is just no need for him

You actually have a legit point there, so here’s an extension on what I meant the wizards can do with Iguodala.

Sixers get- Rashard Lewis, Javale McGee, Wizards 2011 1st rd pick

Wizards get- Paul George, Andres Nocioni, James Posey, Marreese Speights, sixers 2011 pick, pacers 2012 pick (maybe more picks or less picks, depending on how the lottery goes for the wizards)

      Pacers get- Andre Iguodala

Iggy is a much better fit in Indiana because they’re in win now mode, and George is a young guy who would be a good fit next to wall at a position of need

It says it right there. Iguodala is a much better trade chip than rashard lewis. Rashard is as immovable as they come, but Iggy presents a ton of value. The Wizards aren’t really giving up too much. They’re moving back 12 spots, getting a pick for next year, and add iggy who can easily be flipped for more picks or more young talent, while also decreasing their pay roll. For example, the pacers could easily flip iggy to the pacers for paul george and james posey, plus probably another pick.

I really think Wizards want to hold on to McGee he will never be a great offensive player but he could be the back bone of their defense for years. The guy had a triple double with blocks this year. I wouldn’t blame them for wanting to get rid of Lewis though obviously but Iguodala doesn’t offer enough trade value to make it worth giving up picks and McGee. Plus they may want to hold on to Lewis so they can clear cap space of their own.

I can’t see the Pacers giving up that much to acquire Iguodala I do agree he would fit well with their team but he’s not going to improve them that much it would be worth it to give up a first round pick and paul george.

Yes they need to get rid of his awful salary, but no one is going to take that on unless they are getting rid of a similar contract.

Besides as unpolished as Javale is, it is still hard to find a 7 footer to block shots, and run up and down the floor like he does. If they ended up moving him I think they could get more for him. A lot of teams would be interested.

McGee could develop into something closer to Tyson Chandler. Wix have been this patient and he has improved to some degree and is still improving. This deal would be stupid for Wiz to make.

We’re not trading McGee. He’s had his up and downs, but 7 footers with his athleticism are RARE! He’s not a great defender right now, but has the potential to turn into a defensive anchor. He’s probably the best shot-blocker in the league. And I disagree with the poster that said "McGee he will never be a great offensive player." He has the potential to be a very good offensive player and showed me flashes this season.

And Iggy just isn’t a good fit for the Wizards. We’re not in win-now mode, and he’s a poor shooter. We need more shooters.
