Tony_McCarrolllParticipantthe majority of this forum said he was a better overall player than westbrook 95% of last season including the WCF, harden played mediocre in the finals and he then became the same level of player as a jason terry or someone like that.

lakeshow22ParticipantChris Brousssard did say yesterday on NBA Coast 2 Coast that he polled all the NBA General Managers and though it was close that the majority said that they would rather trade westbrook than harden.

3–6 mafiathat is ABSOLUTELY crazy talk to me.
westbrook is a superstar, and will do even better without harden.
harden is an allstar

IndianaBasketballParticipantJames Harden didn’t play well in the Finals, but I don’t understand why people were so hard on him about it. IF not for him, they probably don’t beat San Antonio. He’s such a young player who’s getting better. People acted like he was the first guy to not perform in the Finals. I mean, LeBron James just stunk it up the year before versus the Mavs and he was a veteran.
And that’s one thing about this site you’ll get used to… Cold on a player one second and then hot on him the next.

TallmanNYCParticipantYeah, I’m not going to write Harden off just because he had a tough finals playing against Wade and Lebron. Lots of people on this site decided that those five games predicted his ceiling. That is a tough matchup for anyone in the league. And besides, it isn’t like you have to be better than Wade to justify a max contract.
But yeah, the Harden love is back. Because he was just dominate in that game. For me, the love never left. I picked up 40 negs in the last few days writing on this site that the Harden trade was a great one for Houston and a mistake for OKC. Oh well. We shall see how it works out for both teams.

IndianaBasketballParticipantI’ve thought Harden was the real deal as well.
I mean, what can’t he do? He’s probably one of the more complete young guards I’ve seen in a long time. He’s got size, strength, length and that young Brandon Roy athleticism that just sneaks up on you. He’s a very good ball handler and is probably one of the best in pick and roll. He’s a very good decision maker and passer… He’s unselfish. He’ll move the ball. He can play off of the ball and is a great catch and shoot player. He can hit you with the one or two dribble pull up. He can finish at the rim. His mid-range is solid.
Defensively, he’s solid, but can improve. I mean, this guy is just an all-around player. And he’s clutch. Look at what he did versus San Antonio last season in the playoffs.
I think OKC made a mistake not bringing him back or just waiting this out a little longer. I mean, even if he would’ve signed for $60 million, that was still sacrificing because clearly he could’ve gotten more on the open market.
