eazy_peachesParticipantWith all due respect, I doubt the thought process of the teams who passed on Drummond was, "Size and potential doesn’t matter, so we’ll pass". There were plenty of question marks surrounding Drummond, especially after a disappointing freshman season after coming to UConn with a lot of hype. Size and potential are what got him drafted in the top 10. Not an easy feat.
That being said, Drummond did look very good, albeit in a preseason game against the Toronto Raptors. He could very well make several teams regret passing him over. I think he’ll be a very good player. But like the rest of the 2012 draft picks, it will take some development time to properly evaluate him.
His physical tools are incredible, and as others have pointed out he appears to be in a good fit on Detroit with Monroe as a front court partner. They seem to complement each other well. A good fit means an awful lot for a very young player like Drummond.
He’s definitely a player I’ll be watching this season.

joecheck88ParticipantI’ve been saying I believe he will be the best player from the draft class. I understand the concerns and why he dropped but and it’s a big but, if he puts it all together it will be scary. Maybe his offense won’t ever be elite but I’m not sold on Anthony Davis and his offense either. I think his year at UConn wasn’t entirely his fault. Jim Calhoun was a big story and wasn’t always around and his guards were terrible at getting him the ball. He rebounded well and is an amazing shot blocker. Also I think he has elite lower body strength right now and will be able to hold his position against most. He fell too far to 9 but the Pistons got a steal and will be a threat in the next few years.

Meditated StatesParticipantPhysical advantages. Its only pre season, but I thought he played well the few games I watched him play. He did things that I want a big man to do well. He is coming in a lot stronger than most bigs usually come in being. Playing nex to Monroe is huge for him and that team. Dumars got lucky here cause even dispite the NCAA season Drummomd had I expected him to be gone before #9 pick.

King CaluchaParticipantI like his recent performance. However, he’ll need to develop some post game, because during regular season he might not have the chance to receive so many lobs. Besides that… his game looked promising.
