delfamParticipantSo I filled out my bracket one game at a time and by the end I ended up with Gonzaga in the final four, I wasn’t expecting this but by going one game at a time that’s what I had.
This region seems so wide open, any of a number of teams could get to the final four, you have Pitt,Wisconsin,Florida,St.Johns,Gonzaga, and even UCLA and Michigan State could get there.
So what’s everyone’s thoughts on this bracket and who do you have going through? I’m leary of Pitt since they never do good in the NCAA tournament and always have high expectations.

Dale WorthingtonParticipantThe Southeast is terrible while the East is loaded.
Either Pitt or the Johnnies is/are gonna emerge from the Southeast.
Gonzaga is GARBO this year.

SwatLakeCityParticipantThis is the bracket where I think Colorado should have gone, so to make my point, this is where my Cinderella team comes from. I have Wisconsin making it to the Final four from this bracket, but watch out for BYU.
The committee really should have some of these teams from the Southeast bracket in the East and some from the East in the Southeast. The East is just stacked while the Southeast is really weak.

boxn1ParticipantGonzaga??? If they make it you deserve to win your bracket homie.
If it’s ever a chance for Pitt to finally make it to the final 4,this is the year. I don’t think they will though. Wisconsin,Florida,St.John’s,Mich St,UCLA all of them have big time pros and have cons that are the same size. This is similar to the Bracket Duke was in last year

konqueredParticipantI dont see the johnnies (they are overrated as far as im concernred, go compare their ELO CHESS and PREDICTOR values) nor gonzaga winning this region.
Both wisconsin and kansas state can be easily upsetted in the first round by underrated belmont and utah state. Utah state should have been a 10th seed.
Butler vs old dominium is basically Butler’s defensive rebounding vs Old Dom’s offense rebounding
Florida by far is the weakest 2 seed this year (should have been a 4 seed)
I think Pitt should take this region.. I mean they get to play florida and BYU.. and they may not even face wisconsin the sweet 16. Easiest route to the final four out of the 1 seed = easily Pittsburgh. The bottom half of the southeast region is a complete joke (just look at how insanely tough the bottom half of the east region is)

Dale WorthingtonParticipantSt. John’s predictor values and KenPom rankings are weak because of those two terrible losses early in the season.
Let’s not forget that they have killed 3 teams in the top 10 (2 of which are top 5) and beat another in the top 5.
Steve Lavin is taking the Johnnies to the Promise Land and putting New York City on his back doe.

konqueredParticipantMost of those upsets were in madison square garden, they dont have the home advantage anymore. I would take the zags/byu to knock them out tbh. and KenPom’s figures place less emphasis on early season results and more on the later seasons so their bad losses have already been neutralised.

Dale WorthingtonParticipantI really like ODU.
Would not be surprised if they beat Pitt.
I saw ODU play Cleveland State (and Norris Cole) and ODU crashed the offensive glass like a blind man on meth.
Frankie Hassel is a load down low.

Dale WorthingtonParticipantWow, crazy stuff.
There ya go:
ODU #1 in the nation in offensive rebounding pct. at 44.8%.
Guess who #2 is…
Pitt!
41.9%.

OhCanada-ParticipantRemember what Walker did to Pitt, I see Pullen doing something similar. Pullen is a big game performer who has underacheived this year, but Martin knows how to rally his troops and they should be ready. I also have the Zags upsetting BYU only to be defeated by Florida. Kansas takes it.

kaceyParticipantJohnnies will be playing without DJ Kennedy. Third leading scorer and top rebounder. Obviously, he wasn’t what got the team going, but not good for a team playing with a squad with no tournament experience to begin with.

konqueredParticipantJohnnies have no one over 6’8 in their squad. Goodluck to them guarding Robert sacre, Sam dower and Kelly olynyk

R-Dot-13ParticipantI wouldnt be surprised if ODU beat Pitt in round 2 and made a final 4 run, i have them to the elite 8 in my bracket, but I have Wisconsin out of this region

Dale WorthingtonParticipantSacre Olynyk and Dower…none of those guys are good.
My grandma who died decades ago could defend all 3 at the same time RYTE NAO.
