Staying Or Going?
i would pursue artest first he is more versatile than marion. i think marion runs the floor better but artest has the edge in just about everything else (maybe 3 point shot pretty even): he can finish with contact, create his own shot, better defender, bit bigger, better passer.
I think you are underestimating how much owners are gonna cut back on spending, that or you are just very generous. I like all those guys on that list, but Hedo 14 mill per? He is already in his 30's and is'nt getting better. I think bibby and verajao are both looking at the mid level exception of 5 mill, not 8 mill. I also think Gordon made a mistake turning down the 11 mill for 5 years by the BUlls, because I don't think any one will give him more. I've heard the detroit rumors, but they just gave Rip an extension for 11 mill per, how can they justify giving Gordon the same deal? I can't see those 2 playing together.
yea i definitely think gordon made a mistake turning down those extensions. i think he will be the biggest loser in terms of what he thinks his market value is and what he signs for. i think hedo will be pretty high up in that category too.
The 76ers would much rather have Andre Miller than Mike Bibby assuming they asking for about the same amount of money. I think Miller stays in Philly unless a sign&trade happens. Bibby won't be in Atlanta though.
Artest is absolutely perfect for the Cavs. They should sign him immediately.
I still think Wallace will end up in Boston.
andre miller will stay
artest wont go to clevland
iverson has too much pride to play for that little
marion will get more than 2 yrs 10 mill
Sheed will get more than 2 yrs 10 mill
Varejao wont get that much(he has zero offensive skills)
Ariza has a better chance of staying than Odom
Villanueva said on twitter that he has been getting a lot of love from the Cleveland fans and he would like to play there. So as long as they offer him a good payday he more than likely ends up there.
maybe someone could help me out here. I know they are trying to save money for the big 2010 free agent class so they can go after guys like LeBron and Bosh. But can't they afford to keep guys like Lee and Nate as well? these guys are young uptempo guys that have been playing well. If anyone could afford to pay the luxury tax, it would be the Knicks owners(the same people who brought in Jerome James for 6 mill per to back up Ed Curry who was getting 12 mill per. Or brought in SFrancis for 20 mill per to back up Marbury who was getting 20 mill per).
I just don't see why they could'nt keep Lee and Nate.
You only think 1 person is staying, and its the person thats very likely to leave. Odom is getting up in age, isnt even a starter for LA, and isnt going to get that last huge contract he's looking for from LA. Ariza is the future at the SF, and he played great in the postseason. He was a very valuable player for the Lakers and he has all-defensive team potential. I see LA keeping him and letting Odom walk.
ESPN said Colangelo wants Hedo desperately. He wants the starting lineup of Calderon, DeRozan, Hedo, Bosh, Bargnani. That would be very fun to watch. I'd like to see Marion take a pay cut and play for a title contending team. He is a very good defender/rebounder when he tries. I would say the Spurs would be a good fit but they just got Jefferson. Maybe Boston or Cleveland but I thnk Marion wants to get paid so he'll prob end up somewhere else and I don't think he will get the pay he is looking for.

I just saw this on ESPN, Here is my opinion and who they sign with. Just my top 11
1) Hedo Turkoglu, SF - GOING. He will be pursued by many teams but here is my prediction. (Signs with Toronto Raptors- 4 years-55 mil)
2) Ben Gordon, SG- GOING. I think Gordon will leave to find more money..or a ring. His shooting could be a great addition but his height and lack of D is bad. (Signs with Detroit Pistons- 5 years- 55 mil)
3) Andre Miller, PG- GOING. Miller is a good Vet and at 33, wont be getting a long term deal but for what he gives as a PG, he will get paid. (Signs with Portland Trail Blazers- 2 years- 16 mil)
4)Ron Artest, SF- GOING. With Yao almost done for his career and McGrady a FA in 2010, he will look elsewhere. (Signs with Cleveland- 1 year- 8 mil)
5) Rasheed Wallace, F/C - GOING. Wallace will be a hot pursuit by title teams. The team that add Sheed is a title frontrunner. (Signs with San Antonio Spurs 2 years- 10 mil)
6)Lamar Odom, PF- STAYING. LA saw SA get better, time to over pay for Odom (Signs with LA Lakers 3 years- 30 mil)
7)Mike Bibby, PG -GOING. I think the writing is on the wall. Atlanta wont pony up and Bibby will go some where else. (Signs with Philadelphia 76ers 3 years- 24 mil)
8)Trevor Ariza, SF - GOING. I think Ariza is going. He won a title and can be a solid player in another rotation (Signs with Dallas Mavericks 4 year- 27 mil)
9) Anderson Varejao, PF-GOING. He is a FA, and his Reg Season will add money but his postseason will lower it. He could be a great PF in 2 years. (Signs with the Detroit Pistons 4 year- 30 mil)
10) Shawn Marion, SF - GOING. Call me crazy, he wont get superstar money but is a solid #3 option for any team for a his final 2-3 years. (Signs with Houston Rokets 2 years- 10 mil)
11) Allen Iverson, SG- GOING. He will not be going to a team with a young coach, no #1 option, no money in 2010 and a title team. I think it comes down to 2 teams :Charlotte or San Antonio (Signs with Charlotte Bobcats 2 year- 10 mil)
tell me any play you wanna discuss...
