Stephen Curry received a scare wednesday as Team USA finished it’s 1st full practice in Madrid,Sprain..
With only a few minutes remaining in the team’s scrimmage Curry sprained his left ankle..

Curry is 1 of 4 guards along with (Eric Gordon,Rajon Rondo & Russell Westbrook) rumored to be cut from the Squad..The team needs to make 1 final cut in order to have its roster at 12..When they begin play in the World Championships August 29th….

The team is calling it a mild sprain and Curry is listed as day-to-day..

I think they will cut Gordon but possibly Rondo. This is just me and my thoughts but why would you have Rose, Westbrook, and Rondo. They also have Billups and I believe will play him a bit just because he is the vet. Also I think Iguodala and Gay could get some time at the 2 to add athleticism and length on the perimeter.

I don’t think there’s even a chance that Rondo gets cut. He’s the best playmaker on the team and doesn’t really look to score, similar to Jason Kidd did. He’s also great at picking up ball handlers full court, which is something the USA wants to do. He’s started the last two exhibition games and has been in promotional ads with Kevin Durant.

I think Rondo and Billups will start in the backcourt. Billups will play more than just a bit.

Curry outside shooting is really important..
international play teams wont play zone when he’s on the floor….and with no dominant post presence on the team,thats important..
this team has so many players with similar skills..
Curry’s shooting sets him apart from some other guards on the team..
