Last offseason, Steve Nash took less money and remained with the Suns instead of hitting the market. Now, with Steve Kerr and Amare Stoudemire potentially leaving, where does this leave Steve Nash?

If I was Nash, I would request a Trade. He has maybe 3 seasons of good basketball left. I would look for a team who could help me get a Championship. That’s the only thing missing on his resume. I would tell the Suns, if you can send me to a team where you can get some talent back ( picks and players) and a they could contend for a title, I’ll be good.

    What would you do?

If Nash and Amare are both gone, I see no reason to ever watch a Suns game next seasom

Nash to NY is what your getting at isn’t it. Since Dantoni already helped recruiting Nash it is a prefect fit and although I wouldnt rule it out I also wouldnt acknowledge it.I feel like Nash believes he owes Phoenix a favor and if you look back Stoudimire isnt the player that puses Phoenix into elite standards. If Phoenix can make a nice offer sheet for Tyrus Thomas (who is very underated stats wise) Nash can turn him into a boarder line allstar fairly quick.

First off Nash didn’t take less money to resign with the Suns. He signed a 2 year 22 million extension. Not exactly thrifty spending on a 37 year old PG with back problems who has slightly below average defense and only plays about 30 minutes a night. Nash wouldn’t fit every team in the league either. He is at his best when he is running the break and on the pick and role. He would be a poor fit for a team who runs the triangle for instance. The system a team has must be based around his strengths which we all know ly on the offensive end of the court. He is probably the best shooter in the league and he knows how to effectively run an offense.

If Nash did request a trade it wouldn’t be made publicly. As an acquiring team, what would you be willing to give up for him at his age and salary? He is still extremely effective and always in running shape, but you can no longer build a team around him anymore because your teams future cannot be 3-4 years down the road… it must be now, or he’s not worth trading for at all.

Look at the Jkidd/D. Harris trade as an example. Kidd looked noticeably slower last season. Next season he will probably be a 25 minute a night player and the decline only gets steeper from that point. Harris still has many good years ahead of him in NJ. Dallas made that deal to “win now”. They put it all on the line to win a championship immediately and it didn’t pay off. Dallas lost draft picks and Harris for that opportunity and now that chance is probably gone.

Would another team being willing to take the same risk for Nash?

I’d like him to end his Career leading his Country’s Team into the playoffs…Why not a 3 team or 4 team trade Like This….LOL…4 real though…

    Spurs get Bosh and Chandler…

Knicks get Parker and Blair…Point guard and replacement for Lee’s rebounding…

Raptors get Nash and Lopez and future 1st from SA…Home Grown Legend and young Center…

Suns get Lee and Jack future first from Raptors…Jack to replace The Blur and Lee to replace Stat

    It works IMO…

The Suns would potentially be the worst team in the NBA if that scenario actually happened.

????Might as well get Lee and Picks to rebuild with…their going to wish Amare had STFU and let them trade him to Philly for Iguadola…Then Lee and Iggy would be the core w/ LB,Jack, Hill,JR and Frye…Amudson and Dragic can ball too…They’ll get picks from the Nash deal and Maybe a high ass pick next year…

Raps and Suns are not contenders w/ Them and the Knicks may sign Lebron and Amare to trump the Spurs…

Nash and Amare arent going anywhere. The only team better then the Suns is the Lakers and they arent going after him.
